Defensive Trigger and incorporeal

Hi

We have a difference of interpretation between different players.
Are defence triggers (as with Toni) reduced by incorporeal?
Yes, because it is a trigger generated by the attack action (and in this case black blood too?)
no, because it is not on the attack

Back blood is not damage from the attack action, it is damage from the ability.  

I'm not so sure the same logic works for defence triggers, but I don't think they count as damage from the attack action, as they are a separate ability. An actions trigger is part of the action, so would be subject to thing's which affect the action ( like incorporeal), but a resistance trigger doesn't say that.

Damage caused by Black Blood is caused by that Ability, and thus isn’t reduced by Incorporeal.

Defensive triggers are enough part of the action that they’re modified by the Accuracy Modifier and Focused, so Incorporeal should be the same.

The rule has specific spelled out that Action Triggers are affected by Incorporeal and other similar game effect, while nothing mentioned in Resistance Triggers. So my opinion is Resistance Triggers are not affected, hence the damage will not be reduced.

Neither the accuracy modifier nor focused care about specifically actions, so no they're not the same as incorporeal.

Resistance triggers aren't part of the action. As shown in the rulebook, they are abilities.

Accuracy modifier applies to any damage flip that results from an opposed duel. Focus applies to duels and damage flips that model makes during the action.  Neither are tied into it being part of the action, so can easily follow different outcomes to Incorporeal.
