MaliMan2809
Hello! I'm going to be playing in my first Malifaux tournament next month, I am a relatively new player but reslly just want to see what it is like playing against other factions as at the moment I only play against a friends Guild (lady J) and Neverborn (pandora) crews. I am facing a dilemma which I need the communities help with, and it is thus: Do I play with my Neverborn Lilith crew who I have only played with so far and know how to use pretty well but only have a limited selection of miniatures to choose from when selecting for schemes and strategies; OR Do I play with Outcasts Viks who I have not used yet but have a larger collection (that I have been increasing lately) meaning I have a wider range of miniatures to select from for schemes and strats? Thanks
Breng77
Depends how many games you'll get in before the event. The less table time you have the more I lean toward playing what you know.
bertmac
I played a tournament with lilith after about 6 games and did ok. I think you need some experience with a crew to make sure you don't take too long with activations etc though.
StuffedKiwi
I agree with both the above. You will enjoy your games a lot more if you're comfortable with your models and what they do. I would really recommend against using a tournament as a time to learn a new master/crew
MaliMan2809
That's that then Lilith it is then!
Math Mathonwy
I agree that Lilith is most likely your best bet. What models do you have for a her?
zFiend
I'd say Lilith. She can handle situations Viks can't. Then again a very good player around here once said that Vikkies are a safer bet to a new player as they are comparable to a coin flip and that luck element counts more with Vikkies as it does with others, where others require more skill. So there's that also.
Patzer
If you have Outcast models who are Mercenaries, you can use them with Lilith too. I would vote for Lilith. Experience and familiarity with a crew are often your best companion in a tournament. Lilith is also a very versatile master, who can do a little bit of everything, which is always useful. What other models do you have?

Lilith can reposition things and Johan and Taelor like that very much.
Fetid Strumpet
Personal opinion, even if the master is not necessarily the most competitive, and to be clear I'm not commenting on the power level of either of the afore mentioned masters, you should always play the master(s) you know best. It won't do you any good to play the most powerful master there is if you don't know how to use them most efficiently, or how best to mesh them with the rest of their crew. Additionally you will perhaps be able to force the enemy to react to you if you do know your current crew inside and out. Considering only the information and stances you have posted above, I'd play Lilith for certain.
Victoria
Play what you are comfortable with! You won't regret it. Have fun at your tournament!
AoS
I suggest you play with Lilith, you will play faster with her and that will be better to enjoy the tournament, for you and your opponents. :3 good luck!
