4thstringer
Here's the rules: 20 ss + henchman leader 4 model max points start being counted turn 1 turf way and assassinate are the only strat/schemes 20 minute game time limit fixed list tourney No SS purchasing leftover points Here are some of the lists I have messed with, looking for your thoughts. Ryle, Peacekeeper and enforcer Ryle, badge of office, Hunter, Warden, witchling stalker Sam, witch hunt, badge of office, 2 Stalkers, death marshall Daschel badge of office, 2 riflemen, and warden (or death marshall)(this list tends to be feast or famine) Daschel, 2 riflemen, Frank So what would be your list in such a format. I've played some fun games in this format. Generally it ends up 3 rounds tops before time runs out, so an assassination run list would probably be really effective. zFiend
Judge + Badge of office, 2x Death Marshall, 1x Lawyer. That's what I played with when we tried this format and it worked quite nicely.
MasterDisaster
I woulda gone for Judge + Badge, 2 Death Marshalls and an Austringer but damn we think too much alike zfiend! You scare me sometimes! I'd also seriously consider Toshiro, Rotten Belle & 2 Punk Zombies.

And you call my ideas filthy Yeah Austringer is a very fine choice as well. I reasoned the Lawyer with the low model count, Turf War and his survivability with the Highest Authority + DF6. floso
I won a hard core tournament with this list ryle peacekeeper warden governers proxy. Just pray u don't face Taylor!hope that helps
MasterDisaster
A friend and I are in the process of setting up a HC Tourny at my local club and to test out the rules I went with Judge + Badge & 3 Death Marshalls. I went against Nekima + Growth upgrade & 3 Tots. I Pineboxed the Tots and beat Nekima to death on turn 3 and then just kept boxing the Tots. My opponent wasn't very happy with me. To keep the Rezzers from spaming summons we are prohibiting any form of summoning as well. Our rules are as follows. 20ss Henchman Crew Fixed List No more or less than 4 models Turf War and Assassinate Close Depolyment No Summoning 30 Mins per game 5 Games in total. Hopefully it'll draw a nice crowd but I still need to set a few things up with the club's admin.
zFiend
I like it! The summoning restriction is well in place in such a format.
4thstringer
Just had an idea, let me know what you think Sam w/ vengeance bullet, 2 stalkers, 1 freidcorp specialist. Find a big piece of terrain to hide sam behind, catch their leader on fire and then finish him with sam's 3 shots I've never seen the games go more than 3 turns, so you have it at that point, especially if you can get 1 turf war point. Hateful Darkblack
Is Summoning allowed? I know different hardcore matches have different rules for this.
Arli
In the Tournament that we have coming up, I was planning on allowing it.
EntrepeNinja
We did "Blind Deployment" from the story encounter section. it was fun as crap- you don't know where your cards are going to be, and you have to pick your battles. That being said- think a list like this would be really awesome: Guild Crew - 20 - Shoot Out Sidir Alchibal -- 4 Pool Abuela Ortega [7] Pistolero De Latigo [5] Santiago Ortega [7] +Hair Trigger [1] From the guild. I wanted to do a sidir with promises, but if you buy promises you can't get an upgrade on abuela or santiago, so it's moot. The Pistelero is in there to give crazy defensive flips, after abuela marries Sidir to Santiago. (It's a brave new world). Keep Santiago out of melee, and he should be able to rapid fire anything on the board. Abuela can give out friendly obeys, and shoot like a boss. Sidir hands out slow, and takes melee fighters. If you're scared about Sidir going down, and want some healing, swap to: Sidir Alchibal -- 4 Pool +Promises [1] Abuela Ortega [7] Brutal Effigy [4] Santiago Ortega [7] +Hair Trigger [1] ... In fact, no. I like that better. 'Cause you get the heals on Sidir if he shoots, cards if he kills, and he's giving Santiago a to his attacks which is baller. LordZombie
I am going to use this format for my Wyrd weekend tournament. I added line in sand to schemes to make it feel more like a "normal" encounter. I will have to post up the results. I think this format could be big! Robble
dont use line in the sand. add make them suffer. This punishes people who only bring enforcers and henchmen and makes you protect your minions. adds a whole level to hardcore. Also blind deployment really kicks things up a notch. EntrepeNinja
Scratch promises. It effects WP duels and melee attacks. Round three Sidir leads with promises Frank tags along with wade in Brutal effigy Latigo pistelero Frank gives sidir plus flips to attack, frank gives sidir 7 DF (with riposte) and 8 WP. Brutal heals sidir, frank heals himself, Latigo give plus flips to defense so long as he's last. close deployment (or blind deployment) mean you're gonna be engaged quick, which makes Santiago harder to use... akaean
Next hardcore game I play want to try this out Judge- Lead Lined Coat, Flames of the Pit Brutal Effigy 2x Death Marshals Brutal Effigy because he unlocks some pretty serious healing for Judge who can generate a lot of attacks with his triggers. Between the healing, hard to kill, hard to wound, and armour... he should be a bitch to take out. Flames of the pit just because I've seen a lot of terrifying when playing hardcore, lets you save those cards for boxing. Thalarian Stone could work as well to give Judge an emergency heal if he is on his last leg and needs to go before the effigy.
EntrepeNinja
True that- Judge going full omnislash with brutal would be fun indeed. You might consider swapping out one of the DMs for variety/utility. Austrigner's aren't as good, I don't think, 'cause card discard isn't as big when there's less models on the table.... Maybe a Pathfinder?
akaean
I would say a Warden if any thing. He's got pretty solid defenses, and he's not competing with anybody for tombs- so grinding halt all day long. He also gives you a model happy to go last, and can maybe paralyze someone. Pathfinder is a risky proposition, if you can get some traps on board awesome- but he loses a lot if there is no summoning allowed. I can't remember Joe's stance on the matter. Also in blind deployment the defenses and close quarters hitting power of jailbot are indespencible
MasterDisaster
I played a few HC games last night in preperation for a HC event for this evening. Here are some of the lists I used The Firestarter - Warding Runes - Imbued Energies Oxfordian Mage - Blood Ward Oxfordian Mage - Doom Ward Oxfordian Mage - Nemesis Ward. This list beat Judge w. Badge, 2x Death Marshalls and a Lawyer. Next up was Joss Rail Golem - Imbued Energies Metal Gamin Metal Gamin This list beat Ryle, Papa Loco, A Witchling Stalker and possinly a Death Marshall as well though at this point I was on beer number 4/5 so memory is a little hazy. Last list I tried was Toshiro Punk Zombie Punk Zombie Rotten Belle This list lost but it sure was a close one. I got rapid fired with a vengeance bullet on the first shot by Samael after being exploded and burnt to death by 3 Stalkers
zFiend
Joss list was amazing!
multieyedmyr
what does "No SS purchasing leftover points" mean? u only start with the extra ss your henchman adds? or you have no ss for the game? Edit: Think i found the answer in another topic. No SS at all.
hrnyjackal
I used Kang, Izamu with Recalled training, Graves with Recalled Training and a clockwork trap. Id be tempted to take: Ryle peacekeeper clockwork trap austringer

Id be tempted to take: Ryle peacekeeper clockwork trap austringer I found Austringers to not be useful in this format, as you aren't going for many turns, and so the austringer isn't likely to do enough damage to matter. Edit: Think i found the answer in another topic. No SS at all. No purchased SS. So you still get your Cache on the henchman card. My local henchman told me that was put into place because Nekima was just too brutal in this otherwise.
