  1. That said, I'll try to watch the video after work. Afterwords I may join in the call for a nerf xD
  2. I don't imagine Lilith adds a lot to a Nekima crew. The masters are very similar and don't cover each others weaknesses. For Neverborn, Zoraida is the best second master IIRC. For Ressers, Kirai and Molly are pretty brutal. Zoraida would have been so much better than Wrath. But second masters also offer tech picks - for example I could imagine teching in Seamus against Cadmus. He would be on 3 AP, but he can one shot most of the crew. Or McMourning ignoring hard to wound could be nice. All that said, I'm not sure that double masters are necessarily an answer to ES. Just noting that we are playing a funky ruleset (especially this month), so all of the vassal series data doesn't fully apply to the official game. EDIT: also note that I believe Molly and Kirai combo needs a nerf. So even if this combo can beat Nexus, Nexus might still warrant a nerf.
  3. Can't wait to play against Nexus, should be interesting! Although if the game is balanced around double masters, Nexus and ES might be a bit weaker? Does Nexus have any good double master partners? Incidentally this is a reason I wish double masters weren't allowed, or were an optional variant instead of default. It'd be nice if balance was only around singles.
  4. So basically... If you are dual faction, you get to have card draw xD Although OP has a point - Nekima's card draw is amongst the best in the faction then 😜 EDIT: That said, I think card draw can be a bit of a crutch/is overemphasised in some cases. Reva is a good example where card draw isn't the answer to her issues.
  5. Well, I mean they do come with an upgrade for card draw. In fact, I'd argue that one of the biggest factors in crew strength in Neverborn crews is how well they can hold the card draw upgrade (Ancient Pact on a minion).
  6. There is a lot of advice here: Hopefully this helps!
  7. This is from the FAQ: So we can see a few things: If you suffer damage in italics, that can be reduced. If something refers to the damage suffered, that is after reduction. So say Ashes and Dust has shielded and announces the Necrotic Decay trigger and attempts to suffer 2 damage. It takes 2 damage, and shielded eats one of that damage. The trigger cost has been paid and the trigger goes off. But when you resolve the trigger, you check to see how much damage was done to the Ashes and Dust (only 1), and so you only get +1 damage despite paying the cost of taking 2 damage. Or such is my understanding.
  8. True, amazing ability to mimic!! Might be hard to get them positioned together, though.
  9. Bandersnatch and Widow Weaver make an amazing team, and completely shake up the keyword. So I'd put Serena + Bandersnatch together pretty high on the list if you're wanting to play Dreamer. That said I'm a huge fan of Bandy and Widow, so I may be overselling xD Gators are sweet, but don't really alter the fundamentals IMO.
  10. English Ivan/DUA/Umbra - focuses resources on amazing master turns, and he can swap between summoner and beater. Nexus/Cadmus - crew sends out parasite tokens, and then gets obeys at the end of the turn. Can create a summoning engine, seems to have a few subthemes. McCabe/Wastrel - can pass around artifact upgrades which makes for a flexible crew. Extremely mobile. Likely a bit master-centric in Explorers Society. Basse/Frontier- can easily get 7 inches added to deployment zone, and Basse hits like a truck. Good at abusing terrain, but also vulnerable to LOS and concealing issues. Cooper/Apex - another master focused crew. Charges up super shots and can one shot things with 7 damage shots. Not sure about seeker, EVS, and Syndicate, but Syndicate isn't a full keyword yet.
  11. Problem with this is some of that stuff is keeping the faction afloat (like how will Guild perform without Phiona, Rider, and LLC?)
  12. For explorers society, I agree waiting and see how the faction shapes up (and its overall impact on the metas). Certainly nothing I've seen so far has me going "wow, I can't beat that." Every issue I've had so far is due to poor decisions or crew lists. That said, I think Ressers overall are pretty strong against them. Some modest buffs sound great, but would hate for the game to powercreep too much. FAQ sounds fantastic, though not too big. Would hate for rushed FAQs to happen.
  13. I'd love to see GG2. At this point I've played more GG1 than GG0. That said, giving us a more structured way to mix and match GG1 and GG0 would be great substitute, so I like Santaclaws' solution. For example if it was available in the app, that'd be neat. Would be nice to have a 'wyrd-sanctioned' mish mash of GG1 and 0. In terms of data, I feel like the forums are as lively as ever, and a lot of games are happening on vassal and some in person, so I would hope there's a fair bit of data.
  14. Darn, that's unfortunate, Danny! At least it is a disappointing win instead of disappointing loss!
  15. As per the rules, you ignore any unbury effects if you're on the table. For Bete Noire, the exciting thing is the rest of the ability still functions (which is how it should work RAW, I believe). Thus, Bete can remove a corpse marker anywhere on the table and charge as a bonus action!
  16. Hounds in every faction are so mediocre there's a whole thread about it 😜
  17. To some degree, I play Molly for similar reasons xD Though noting for this point... I think sometimes people over-emphasise answering what the opponent is doing. Having your own proactive plan that wins the game unless the opponent stops you is very good, and Neverborn are pretty good at that. Not to mention there are often techs that aren't direct counters but can be super useful (I imagine Shove Aside is a brilliant trigger against Cadmus, for example?)
  18. That's pretty good! Interested to see how English Ivan goes as well.
  19. In regards to Nekima, I believe it is also the GG strats that are playing a large role. Both public enemies and leylines heavily punish her basic playstyle and mature nephs. So especially in the long-term, she is likely to do some interesting stuff as GGs get updated. Out of curiousity, has anyone been playing her in GG0 strats and schemes with the changes? Would be interesting to see just the effects of the changes vs. the changes of GG1.
  20. Ooooo, I just remembered Bete Noire's Vassal Series FAQ allows her to use her bonus action when on the table. That makes her essentially a 3 AP model, and is very good this series. So that's a major boost to Seamus' options. A Bete + Dandy for example will have her on 3 Ap for most of the game.
  21. Wait, are you saying Silurids are bad? I thought most people agreed they're awesome. How much terrain do you play with? That can make these types of models a lot worse if you don't have enough terrain.
  22. That's a pretty neat trick! It would be nuts if they HAD to consider you friendly of course, but as is it still shuts down Font of Knowledge, Quarantine (sometimes), Exoskeletal Connection, Down to the Last Drop. The Exoskeletal Connection in particular seems huge. You don't want your model being yeeted across the table 12+ inches xD EDIT: oh, and shuts down Will of Cadmus if Von Schtook isn't covering that as well. That's a pretty big deal. Sweet tech piece
  23. Yeah, Yin OOK would be one of my go-tos in that pool, so snagging her in keyword makes sense! How you feeling about the R1 cadmus matchup? Any OOK techs, or leaving it to Anna?
  24. Yeah, I think the bug is when people confirm/unconfirm stuff. So if you keep changing your mind it can swap it around mid-prep. But I'm not sure!
