  1. I didn't think that it was out yet. Everyone i know is still using GG2017 strat and schemes.
  2. Guild guards were pretty much worthless at 4ss. I never took them. Now that they are cheaper, they can be taken in greater numbers without impeding on the rest of your list. Im excited for this change. Now I will have a choice between guards and my dogs to get cheap activations. Out-activating your opponent is a key advantage in this game. This will be a great counter to all those summoners that out-activate me all the time. Maybe I can finally win Interference!
  3. Awesome, I'm so glad that Wyrd has listened to their customers. Instead of nurfing and ruining models with errata, they adjust the soulstone cost. I've been advocating for points adjustments over nurfs/ buffs on this board for a while. Thank you Wyrd, thank you for hearing and responding appropriately to your customers. This all looks pretty good, though I noticed almost all of the rider models got a discount, but not the Mechanical Rider. That's unfortunate. Otherwise, I am very pleased to see this approach to the errata.
  4. Ok, i would say the (2) Action with TN is still better. I don't like the Joss/ Toolkit thing because: 1. You have to kill one of your own models. 2. The Toolkit is a very useful buff to other models. 3. I don't like wasting Joss' actions to get scrap when he should be moving up the board to kill things, which is what he does best.
  5. I'm on the road, don't have my book with me, but if I remember right, it's Mortimer that has "Found a Bone"? I believe it's a (2) action with no TN or discard. It's just a 2 action to get a corpse marker. Basically you have to spend both his actions for it.
  6. My 2 cents to the question: No Nurfs, as most of you know, I hate nurfs. For a buff, there needs to be an easier way to get scrap markers. Even with the new union steamfitter, it is way too resource intensive, 6ss model plus discard 2 cards. I suggest an action for Joss, the Brass Arachnid, or similar that allows you to drop a scrap marker as a (2) action. This would put it in line with the Ressurectionists "Found a Bone" that allows them to get a corpse marker for a (2) action. That would be a perfect balance, (2) action for both corpse and scrap, which are essentially for the same purpose, summoning.
  7. I've got an idea: make all totems available to all masters. It sucks I can't take the Enslaved Nephilim when I play Lady Justice. It's the only model in the guild I know of that can move people around so well. I wish he just wasn't restricted to Perdita. As a result, I play Perdita a majority of the time, mostly cause she's darn good, but also because of the mobility the Nephilim provides. As a result, my other Masters end up getting neglected.
  8. True, but they seem to die before they can do much. Plus, if they get engaged, they are toast. With only a (0) melee action, engaged is not where they want to be.
  9. I have the Ironsides box, and I find the Mages to be fairly worthless. They are very brittle and die real quick. The temporary shielding made them a bit better, but they are still easy to kill.
  10. I've been reading the Broken Promises book. I'm glad to see another way to get a scrap marker with the Steamfitters, however, it is still very resource intensive to do with having to discard two cards. I would rather see it as a (1) or (2) action with no discard. Why is it so hard to get a scrap marker? The ressers can get a corpse marker real easy with their characters without much resources, and they can summon way higher cost models than spiders or gamin. I just don't get why they make it so hard to get a darn scrap marker!
  11. You must have had a ton of aderenaline in the tank to achieve that. How much adrenaline did you use to pull that off?
  12. I talked to Toy Soldier again. The person I spoke to this time says they might have some players tonight. I'll be up there around 4:00.
  13. After reading his card, both Seamus and Sandeep have 12 wds and Impossible to Wound. Both can summon. Both have an action to where they can reposition. Those are the similarities I noticed. Not true, after the belles lured me into his aura, I'd fail WP duels due to his upgrade of -2 WP. Then, when you fail a WP duel, he heals 2. So, he does have healing ability as well, not to mention his hat trick to deny your red joker damage flip. He's way more than just a shooter. No complaining about them, just said IF I were to complain, it would be something like them who are way strong. I do not hope for those models to change, I look forward to devising a crew or way to beat them.
  14. I called the toy soldier place. All they told me was that they play there from time to time on the weekends. I had my relative look on Facebook, but couldn't find any groups on there for the DFW area. I am actually on my way to Houston, but am stuck here in Dallas until it is safe to travel there. I'm going on business, and have played with some of the Houston area players before. I really enjoy those guys down there, hope they are all doing well during this horrible disaster. My prayers and best wishes to them. Hope to see them soon.
  15. I have yet to play against Sandeep, so I might change my opinion when I do, but after looking at his card, he doesn't seem any more powerful than other masters. Matter of fact, he looks like an Arcanist version of Seamus, and doesn't even look as strong as him. Seamus, like Sandeep, has 12 wds and impossible to wound, and can summon (though Sandeep's card on the website does not show a summon. An upgrade perhaps?). Sandeep has a place Action, which has much less range than Seamus' Back Door relocate Action, so it would be in line with other Master's push actions. Also, Sandeep's attacks have a weaker stat of 6, while most Masters have a 7. To me, I would see his Beacon ability as a strength, though it will be hard to win a duel with it at Ca 5 unless you are targeting a weak model. His Student of All ability looks nice, but at once a turn, it equates to Fast, which is common in the game. He looks like a decent master, but not the most powerful by any means. I've been obliterated by Wong and the Victoria's. I'd be more apt to complain about them than Sandeep.
  16. Not sure that this is the right section or not to post this, so I apologize if not. Im currently in the Dallas area for a few days, and I have my Malifaux stuff with me. I would like to play some games while I'm here. I called a few game shops close by, and no one there could help me. They were mostly 40k and Magic dens. I'm staying just south of Dallas, downtown is about 30 minutes due north, and Arlington/ Grand Prairie is a little over 30 min away. Any info, or anyone here that lives close by and wouldn't mind playing, please let me know. Also, I know many groups in different areas have a Facebook group, however, I do not, so I can't use that as a resource. Thanks!
  17. Howard is just an example. I mention him because of his very high damage spread. Sonnia maxes at 5. Yes, she has the blast marker, but it's easy to counter. Just spread your models out more. I learned that lesson real quick after being annihilated by Victoria of Blood and whirlwind. I will make sure to spread my models out next time to prevent that from occurring again.
  18. I updated my previous post to elaborate. Here it is pasted from above: I know people think it made Sonnia too powerful, but you can give Howard Langston + damage with reactivate and his damage is way more devastating than what Sonnia can do. Plus, he's much more resilient than Sonnia and her wimpy Df 4. Sonnia would be easy to kill before she causes too much problem.
  19. I guess I worded that sort of wrong. I meant that if you field him for Hold This as your main purpose, then it's not worth it, because he has to stay close to give it and he is too much of a liability to stay close. I wish that ability was on a different model that doesn't blow up. Like mentioned above, + on damage flips is a great buff, but it is far from uncommon in the game. The toolkit was mentioned, but there are several models that have + built in or through some ability or trigger in their card. I fail to see how it was such an issue with the Papa model. I know people think it made Sonnia too powerful, but you can give Howard Langston + damage with reactivate and his damage is way more devastating than what Sonnia can do. Plus, he's much more resilient than Sonnia and her wimpy Df 4. Sonnia would be easy too kill before she causes too much problem.
  20. Yes, I have had that happen to me with the Victoria's. They are amazingly strong, but I do not support any errata to their stats. I prefer to find a way to deal with it, which should be attainable and not impossible, unlike above mentioned 40k game.
  21. The decks are printed overseas? Wyrd is a USA company right? Cost I assume? I guess the current "Made in America" trade campaign that the American people voted for has yet to take full effect.
  22. I have never used Sonnia, but the other tactic you mentioned was my main reason for using Papa. I prefer to put him in the box to get him in position. He is vulnerable by himself, too slow, and if he dies near your own crew, it could be a disaster. So boxing him is almost necessary to be able to unleash his true purpose as a model, to be the suicide bomber. The + for damage would have been a bonus for while he was boxed. Really, that was his best ability. Now, it's not worth taking him for it because you'll get the Hold This turn one, then that's it, because if you keep him close to who he buffed so he can do it again, he could blow up and kill them along with it. In exchange for his nurf, they should have improved his Df and or Wk. He's too slow and too vulnerable.
  23. As far as Malifaux is concerned, I would argue that certain things that were nurfed would not classify as "cheese". For example, to stop the Papa Box, just simply kill the Death Marshall. Not too hard to do. As far as the Austringer, yes, 18" range without LOS will be hard to get to, however, the damage is weak and as far as the discard, you must win the duel, and then get/ cheat a mask to get the trigger for that, and an Austringer cannot use a soul stone to get it. I've found it harder to get that trigger off due to the suit requirement. Even if you had the suits in your hand, by the time you force your opponent to discard, your hand is empty from cheating to get it. So, in my opinion, the trade off is not worth it. Again, I appreciate the errata more now after last night in cases of crews/ armies that are one sided and indefensible. I don't think that the above errata hits that threshhold, but again, I now have a better understanding instead of being adamantly opposed without fail on any and all errata.
