  1. Oh! I like both the models and the rules. However, I am a bit confused as to how the "Once per activation" on Runed Quiver work. Let's say you attack a model and your opponent decides not to discard a card. You already have the trigger you want so you decide to not add a suit. Is the ability still "spent" or can you use it on your next attack since you decided not to add a suit? How about if your opponent discarded a card? I guess it is "spent" on your first attack regardless of if your opponent discards a card or you decide to add a suit, but it is not entirely clear.
  2. I agree that they are not exactly the same, but Scorch the Soul states that it is damage "from the Burning Condition", which I think is the most relevant part. Both the Condition and the Action are considered to the the source of the damage. And in my opinion Jedza would definitely get credit/blame for killing something with Life of the Earth attack.
  3. Sonnia's "Scorch the soul" attack is another similar example. It states that "Target suffers damage from the Burning Condition equal to the value of its Burning Condition (to a maximum of 5 damage)." In the FAQ (point 2 under Guild) it is said that "The damage from Scorch the Soul is both from the Burning Condition and from an Attack Action." The question regards modifiers, but the damage is considered to be from an attack action (as well as Burning). Damage from an attack action can not be considered "an effect not generated by a model". In my opinion, both "resolve the Poison Condition" and "take damage from the Poison Condition" would be considered damage from the attack that caused the effect (as well as the Poison Condition).
  4. After reading it a couple of times I can't really see how it can be interpreted as chosing one of the models to fight. There is nothing in the wording suggesting that a choice is involved. The rule talks about a single engaging model. In my mind, Down the Wrong Path can be read in two ways: 1. Every model which fulfills the criterea can make a attack. So in your example Alan Reid would be able to attack, since he is engaging the target and is a friendly Elite model. And Agent 46 would also be able to attack since he is engaging the target and is a friendly Mimic. 2. "a Friendly Elite of Mimic model" is to be read as "exactly one Friendly Elite or Mimic model". And in that case none of them would get to attack, since the target is not engaged by "a" model, but rather multiple models. But that becomes rather strange in my opinion. I can't think of any other rule where "a" is used like that. But I can´t see how "a Friendly Elite of Mimic model" would be able to be fulfilled by multiple models while the second part of the rule, "the friendly model", only apply to one model. Either both parts refer to "any model fulfilling this criterea" or both parts refer to "exactly one model". And I think that the first makes a lot more sense.
  5. Ah. Checking the FAQ... A most advanced technique which I clearly have not mastered yet. Doh! 😄 Thank you!
  6. Kaeris reborn has a tactical action called Melting point. It is a 3" that states that "This Action may draw LoS and range from friendly Wildfire models with Burning +3 or more." Does this mean that: A) Kaeris may choose either herself or a single Wildfire model with Burning +3 or more to be the centre of the pulse, B) The pulse will extend from Kaeris and all Wildfire models with Burning +3 or more, C) Kaeris may choose which models the pulse extends from, from a pool of herself and any Wildfire models with Burning +3 or more. At first I read it as A), but when thinking more about it I am starting to think that it might be C) that is correct. Opinions?
  7. In my opinion Carver is OK, but slightly overcosted. The main problem is that it is quite good at several things but not really awesome at anything. And for 10 SS, "quite good" just isn't enough. That being said, I still use it a lot with Pandora, as I like to use models in keyword. And while it is rarely "model of the match", it usually does something. Its version of Opportunist is one of the better ones, as Focused is quite common. Ruthless can be good against certain crews, and the Shears attack is solid. In my experience, you almost never get a good opportunity to use Draw Essence in practice. There are either too few enemies or too many friendly models in the area. TN12 is quite easy to pass and if the opponent is low on cards I think you are better off trying to get good hits with Shears or Breath of Fire.
  8. So, after another long break I have once again painted something Malifaux-related. First up is a homemade Dispatcher. This has been on my "to do"-list for quite some time as I had almost the entire Guard keyword since M2E, but lacked the totem for Dashel. And i finally got one built and painted. And two Orderlies that have been standing on my painting table for quite some time. I actually got these painted before the errata, but now they might even see some play!
  9. I painted an illustration of Lucius. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
  10. Good changes and clarifications! I was a little bit surprised by the rework/nerf to Lucius crews but I don't follow the tournament scene so it may have been needed. And now I have two new titles to learn for Lucius - "Lucius Mattheson - Dishonorable" and "Lucius Mattheson - Erratad".
  11. Great battle report! High production values and easy to follow.
  12. It's been a while since I painted anything Malifaux. Since I have only been able to play one or two games during the last year because of Covid, I have quite a lot of newly painted models which I haven't had a chance to play with yet. So I have slowed down my painting. But now I have at least gotten some Trustworthy Citizen painted up. For some reason, they were all wrongly named "False witness" on both the cards and the sprue. Not like Wyrd to make such an obvious mistake. I suspect Arcanist sabotage.
  13. It has been a while, but now I have finally painted something Malifaux-related again! Nellie! It's hard to get a good image because of the pose. I didn't want the "official" colour scheme on this one as I think that a brown suit, brown leather straps and red hair provides too little contrast. So I went with a blue suit instead. It is close to the Guild uniforms, but not exactly the same, which is a little nod to Nellies relationship with the Guild. She is not officially part of the Guild, but in reality - she is. The Printing press I painted this metal intead of my standard blue which I use on Guild robots. If the newspaper is supposed to look independent you can't have the printing press painted in Guild colours. Undercover reporter Such a cool sculpt! And some Newsies The headline of the paper they ar e selling is "Guild heroes". Sounds like an interesting and informative article...
  14. Some more colour-coded woes - Lyssa. Same idea as the Avesions. Purple skin and green clothing details to make them fit in with the rest of the crew and a different colour on the flames to make them easy to identify.
  15. I like it. It is an interesting idea. However, perhaps a way to win over a wider audience could be to include some game elements as well? You could keep the story like you did now but at the end of each turn switch to an overview of the battlefield and have the narrator explain quickly what happened in game. And I don't mean every single flip, but something in the style of "The Guilty double walked on the left flank. The Katanaka sniper moved up and took a shot at Montressor, but missed. Montressor attacked the Katanaka crime boss twice, causing a total of 3 damage.".
  16. Thanks everyone! I just finished some Aversions. The masters of social distancing! I thought a bit on how to paint these. I didn't want them as all blue-white ghosts like in the artwork, since that wouldn't really fit in with the rest of the crew. So I painted them like my Sorrows, but with blue flames instead of green. It makes them stand out more from the Sorrows and should make it easy to quickly identify different woe during a game. To keep the colour scheme from the crew I painted their clothes green instead.
  17. I like the format, especially the compressed length. I rarely have time to watch 2-3 hour battle reports so it's great to have shorter reports which still manages to contain all the relevant information. I'll definately be looking out for future battle reports. My only suggestion is that it could perhaps be good to mix in some close-up shots of the models every now and then. It would make it easier to get a feel for how the models are positioned and add a little variety.
  18. Finally done with the Brutal Emissary. I thought quite a bit on how I wanted this model to look. At first I thought about adding flames to it to make it look like a giant Death marshal, but I decided against it since it is a generic Guild model. I then got the idea to give it more of a Guild guard look. Like a watchman. I never really liked the cage he is carrying around, so I replaced that with a lantern. The way he holds it, it can either be symbolic (like he is bringing enlightment) or that he is looking for someone trying to escape him. I also added a ram skull symbol to the sword to help cover up that the sword is really poorly sculpted. For the painting, I used my standard Guild blue, but added some lettering and magical symbols to make it a bit more interesting.
  19. I'm torn on these. The models look super cool, but to me they just don't fit in a game of Malifaux. However... If Wyrd would just release all other Malifaux crews as a 1988 version...
  20. Finally some new models done - Domadores de cadaveres! These models were a little bit intimidating to paint as I love the sculpts and really wanted to do them justice. But I am happy with the results. I added some freehand painting on the scarf to make it a bit more interesting.
  21. In these time we could all use some medical staff. Dr. Grimwell "Always remember to wash your hands after performing a lobotomy." Nurse Heartsbane "Wear a face mask when giving electroshock treatment, as the patient may cough and spit while they scream in pain."
  22. Great battle report. I think I prefer your old style, but this is good as well. The calm narration makes it really easy to follow.
  23. Some Ortegas done! A monster hunter. I really like this sculpt. It is so cool. Another Monster hunter. Nino Ortega. I really like how this model turned out. And Papa Loco.
