Hello, everyone! it is once again time to post for my bi-weekly game of through the breach at Rune and Board in Hillsboro Oregon. the next game will be August 26h. starting at 6PM. Currently, I'm just running one-shots with pre-made characters with the intent to introduce the rules-system into the local area, teach the system, and introduce the setting and lore to new players, and hopefully convert a few RPG players into Malifaux players. However, due to limited pre-genned characters and limited twist decks, I am asking that players RSVP on meetup.com to keep anyone from showing up and being out of character sheets. I suppose I don't need them all, just the ones I'd need. I'm planning on going through on making tokens for the stuff I play/plan on buying in the immediate future. I figured if someone already had a list somewhere on a wikia or something it'd be easier than flipping through every single card and upgrade I own, hoping I didn't miss any, and then looking for the models I'm going to be buying to see if any of them have any.

Is there a list anywhere, or anyone here who knows, all of the model specific tokens? The generic ones are easy enough to find information for and even tokens of, but I can't find a master list of the things like Rasputina's ice pillar, Widow Weaver's web, Lilith's illusionary forest, etc. Something to make it easier than looking through every single card and upgrade that I own to see what models have them and what they are.

So, I bought a box of Rougarou at my LGS. and, I'm not sure if they were mispacked or its just something weird with the sculpts on the box I seem to have been given two identical sculps, didn't realize it until I had put them together and placed them side-by-side. I knew they looked more similar then they were supposed to from the models on the back of the box, but its only on further inspection that they are completely identical. Normally Wyrd is great about the box's fully representing the models, but I want to double check first. image for reference.

it's as good an idea as any other. Plus it'd probably be cheaper than a 'proper' codex. I imagine it'd be a huge PITA to sort through every card in a single faction on wargame vault though.

Yup. Keep meaning to do that with a dual commander box so I can start running demos at my store ASAP, but something keeps coming up, financially, every time I have the spare money. seems I'm doomed.

Yeah, I imagine at best, kickstarter backers should get there stuff around mid-late december, with a general store release around January/February.

I think my personal list would look something like Guild: The Judge Ressurectionists: Datsu Ba or The Valedictorian. Neverborn: Either Nekima or Spawnmother, possibly even widowweaver. Arcanists: I really can't say too much, The Captain seems to be a favorite and I can't disagree with any of the arguments, it might be interesting to see something change with Raspy's relationship with December and have Snow Storm become a master to reflect that in some way. Outcast: I think Taelor is the best bet there. as for either TT or Gremlin, I really don't know/care enough about either to put much thought into it. Although there is speculation based on the cover art that Lenny will be a master.

Yeah, I don't see them releasing singles models anytime soon. They might, but at this stage I don't see it exactly being a priority for the team. As far as proxying itself goes, I don't see it being a problem as long as the model is fairly obvious in what it's representing. Gibbering Horde models might make good stand-ins for Silurid models. Personally I was toying with the idea of using something like Abyssina's Marauders or King's Hand's Motor Scout as a proxy for McCabe(mostly because I can't stand the McCabe model.), although I'm not sure what I'd use for dismounted McCabe. now that I think about it. Fenton might make an interesting gender-flipped model for Kaeris.

most best-selling game titles sell around 50 million copies; no, it's not the be-all, end-all way to tell how many "gamers" there are, but it's a good enough baseline, yeah? GTA V, for instance, has sold over 75 million copies, as of February. How many people do you think are sending death threats on twitter? Because I can guarantee you it's not a significant percentage of the gaming community.

the problem with this is gamers are a hugely diverse group of people with billions of people who identity themselves as "gamers". You can't judge a group based off the actions of....by my rough estimation....0.0000000000000000001%.. and that's not even getting into the argument about 4chan false flags or the more rabid anti-feminists who may have gone after her not because she went after video games, but because she's a notable feminist.

I think the problem with the thread is that there's no one really against it or and we're at the point where no ones adding to the conversation, everything's already been stated. So its just a bunch of people talking in circles for no reason...

I think the problem with Marvel is that they aren't really making "new characters". they're getting rid of all of the characters that everyone loved and turning every super hero- even one's it doesn't make sense, like thor - into Legacy characters. there's an important distinction to make. People don't hate Jane as thor because she's a woman. they hate her as thor because she isn't Thor. Had they made her into a new superhero? no one would've given a shit. and I don't see Wyrd doing something like that anytime soon. - Sure, they might down the line decide it's time for McMourning to retire and give up his operations over to Sebastian. But I don't see anything that drastic happening in wave 7.

Well, the good news at least is that the Like button seems to have returned..

Just a quick heads up on this; starting the 22nd I'll be doing Demo's every other week. You can check out the Rune and Board calendar and it should be up to date. You can also RSVP over at https://www.meetup.com/PDXers/; it's not required but it helps to give me a headcount on people. especially for TTB, since I only have enough decks for so many people. Currently, the Saturday games for the 15th and 22th haven't changed. but starting the 29th I'll be alternating between TTB games and Malifaux Demos.

Just want to chime in something I've noticed, that kind of bothers me... It seems that the people who are complaining the loudest about "Oh, when it's heteronormitive it's not seen as sexual but if it was gay it would be!" are the ones who are actually pushing the most heteronormative attitudes. I see a lot of assuming that "straight" is the default. That just because the Honeypot has a brothel, that that's somehow automatically 'straight' when in reality the sexuality and sexual orientation of both the workers and clients of the honeypot are "undefined" - which should be the standard until clarified. It's the same with colette and the showgirls; yes, they use their sexuality to distract people. but that's an act of MANIPULATION using their sexuality to get what they want; it's not an act that actually shows their sexual orientation. it's the same kind of dangerous assumption that just because a character hasn't shown sexual attraction, they must be asexual. it's the same kind of BS that leads to the "what are you, gay?" question when a male isn't aggressive chasing after women. isn't it possible that, say, Ramos is straight, he's just capable of not being distracted by the showgirl's sexuality? seems to me, that the people who are most interested in fighting "heteronormity" here are also the ones who are pushing it the most. Maybe we should all stop assuming that "a character is straight unless it's made explicit that they're not" and start assuming that "a characters sexual orientation is undefined until it's defined", yes?

Well, if TOS is anything to go by. Women seem pretty rare on the battlefield for Abyssinia. but Kassa seems to have no problem working for them in a high ranking(commander) position. Same with Kings hand; they don't seem to have any day-to-day soldiers that're female. But You've got Kassa, as well as Margaret belle. the Cult has a lot more women in various positions, and the gibbering horde seems to be mainly commanded by female models; although they're not really indicative of human social values.

I mean, we've seen the sculpt. but haven't gotten anything since last I checked. I'm sure it's coming; but Wyrd is a small company and things like that are pretty slow going.
