  1. Oy, that would be a big expansion. I'd almost recommend *not* doing that, simply because the sheer size of including all the factions, nations, etc. would severely overwhelm the library, to the point where the setting--Malifaux--would be completely eclipsed. I'm sure there will be a "new arrivals" expansion that will cover one or two distinct Advanced Pursuits from the Earthside factions, but the game is called Through the Breach and Malifaux is where it takes place. I think keeping that focus is important.
  2. Really enjoyed Episode 44. Who writes and narrates these tales? Or is the answer somewhere around the forums here?
  3. Holy crap, you guys are already funded. Congratulations, Wyrd! What are the odds we might see a fifth faction introduced?
  4. Here's a question, I've got a ton of digital material to read and my poor cheap phone can't handle .pdfs very well. What would you guys recommend as a good handheld reader?
  5. Yes! I've been hoping to get into the RPG. Come here you little green devils...
  6. Damn. I joked before but those models give Games Workshop a run for their money.
  7. Sticks the Graveherd When Sticks was a boy he suffered recurring nightmares of being buried alive. These dreams grew more vivid with time, afflicting him with claustrophobia and insomnia. When he was able, he took a job as a gravedigger and tried to sooth his mind by exhuming the very bodies he buried, placing them somewhere they would not be trapped in darkness. He traveled to Malifaux in search of his fortunes and a hope of escape, but the dreams followed. One evening he awoke from a vivid nightmare and found his hands bloodied and ruined, his broken fingernails caked with grave dirt. With only his lantern and shovel, he fled to a nearby cemetery and desperately exhumed the body of a man he'd buried the day before. As he reached the coffin, he heard the panicked knocking from within and pried the wood away, freeing the "newborn" draugr Obadiah. Since then Sticks has gathered a sizable congregation of draugr, most rescued personally, others drawn to him by their need for kinship and a place to belong. Most see Sticks as a rescuer and father-figure, and gladly follow him. Appearing as hooded reapers, these "Ferrymen" wield cleaving shovels and eldritch lanterns to wage a secret war against the monsters of Malifaux, fighting fire with fire, horror with horror. And Sticks has never slept better. Sticks is a supporting Master, and his Crew is built around endurance, soaking in obscene amounts of damage while steadily weakening opposing crews. His Ferryman Lantern grants major buffs to Draugr models, specifically their ability to regenerate damage, but only at close range. His Corpse Shovel allows him to quickly Bury and Unbury allied units, granting them rapid regeneration and removing most conditions that normally wouldn't be removed by Burying them. Looks So Peaceful grants most models in Sticks' Crew the ability to Bury an opponent when they land a killing blow, preventing them from using abilities that would normally activate in the event of their death. Finally, Sticks' Second Death ability allows him to destroy Corpse and/or Scrap Markers; the more Markers he removes in this manner the stronger his buffs become, making him an absolute terror to Crews that depend on such Markers to remain a threat in combat.
  8. Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame: All their attempts to bend thee down, Will but arouse thy generous flame; But work their woe, and thy renown. "Rule, Britannia! rule the waves: "Britons never will be slaves."
  9. A violent argument erupts between staff on the nature of horses and the punching of therein. Welcome to Wyrd!
  10. *Looks around quickly, clears throat* HWE KAPTOORED EET FOR KAY-OSS! *Runs away giggling and farting*
  11. Canada has successfully hybridized Soulstones with Maple Syrup and Beer, turning them all (women included) into physical powerhouses that breathe magic and have stunning mustaches. Leadership is determined by a mix of Curling tournaments and for the final two combatants to repeatedly charge and ram mustaches together until one submits.
  12. I think Wyrd will play it like Warmachines/Hordes; The King's Empire is one of the big Factions, but there are auxiliary or 'mercenary' units that have a loyalty mechanic to one or more Factions. So say Canada has already earned its sovereignty in this timeline; the Blackpowder Wars were our time to shine and the King's Empire responded with land and titles (I've always been tickled by the notion that Canada was basically knighted into existence). While still nominally loyal to the Empire, we also extend our hand to other nations, like say Abyssinia. So there can be one or two units; maybe Mountie cavalry with some kind of fancy rifle/pikes, and they're fast-moving snipers. Then there's another unit of Metis mercs, who are a mishmash of peasant militia types with a bit of Native American shamanism to give them a punch. We could have the Queen's Own Rifles (or maybe the King's Own Rifles in this universe) who are Canada's infantry and have a very "jack of all trades" approach to combat (much as our army does in the real world). And we can have Arctic Rangers who are scouts who can take a polar bear as a kind of familiar for some deep-striking power.
  13. I think the official translation is For your arm knows how to wield the sword Your arm knows how to carry the cross; Your history is an epic of brilliant deeds
  14. I say it's gold. I want to see steampunk mounties and Metis shamans, ice magic and polar bears.
  15. I want to know more about Canada. They're gold, which is the best color.
  16. Being from Alberta, I can't help but feel a bit biased towards an army led by someone named Charles Edmonton.
  17. Aw man, that was just excellent. I'm getting more and more excited for this by the minute.
  18. I like your ideas, definitely a Gremlin Crew. I can see them bringing grems and pigs as distractions while they sneak around grabbing people. My own ideas were more firmly Rob Zombie/House of 1000 Corpses/Devil's Rejects themed. So we have Jimmy Ghoul, the murderous circus/goth/hillbilly/psycho ringmaster/heavy metal rockstar. Armed with a steampunk electric guitar and his own rage, he's a Gremlin/Ressurectionist who brings a lot of noise to the party; he can enthrall an opponent's constructs and undead, or buff his own. His totem/girlfriend is Cherry Ghoul, after Rob Zombie's wife Sherri Moon Zombie. She's a mix of hillbilly-psycho and cheerleading stripper, the trashier the better. His henchman is The Captain, a greasepainted penguin inspired by House of 1000 Corpse's Captain Spaulding. He brings ranged firepower and incredibly foul language to the crew. The enforcer is the Hog Rod, a "Dragula"-style roadster built with animated pig parts that can move on its own, transport characters and run down enemies. Finally Jimmy's Ghoulish Groupies fill out the crew; gremlins who feast on the dead and have become undead headbangers drawn to Jimmy's undead-enthralling music. Groupies can "defile" corpse markers, and the more there are on the field the stronger Jimmy's music becomes.
  19. This idea came to me recently, after watching House of 1000 Corpses. Why are there no hillbilly psycho gremlins? Or a gremlin version of Rob Zombie and some of his more memorable performance characters like his wife Sherri Moon and Captain Spaulding from House?
  20. To be fair, I think the faction itself pronounces it "RUAAAAAARRGH! *Bone-crunching noises*"
  21. Gremlin playable characters? GIMME.
  22. Ripples had some great fiction and Masters.
  23. I picked Collodi, because of all the Malifaux characters, his has almost no relation to any other, and while his backstory is kind of tragic he doesn't feel like a particularly engaging Master. I feel like he would fit an Enforcer better, serving a demented puppet master who has more coherent goals and ambitions.
  24. I've only ever seen Ophelia standing stock still. Glad to see a more dynamic action shot.
