  1. People with the book have said they're 30mm I think.
  2. Only problem with this interpretation is that according to the FAQ (Section 5, No. 12) the wording on the Stealth ability is kind of treated as a "Range" for the purposes of actions taken drawing LoS and Range from other objects. It has very similar wording to abilities like Ride the Rails with regard to distance.
  3. It's also not very thematic to the crew. Give December Acolytes more interaction/synergy with Ice Pillars (as well as making them ignore them for shooting). I'm thinking a Trigger to push a target 3" towards an Ice Pillar and if it gets within 1"/b2b it gains Staggered (which has more synergy with Raspy-1) would be nice. Throw in a Tear Off a Bite Trigger on the Harpoon for funsies. Maybe give Snow Storm an 4 or 6, once/activation card draw when a Pillar is removed, perhaps only when an enemy does to restrict it. Will make them a better hire overall and would give the crew some much needed card draw. Maybe change December's Command to be able to target Ice Pillars as well (works with Kaldgeists then) and make it push the target up to 5" instead of Mv, which helps out Gamin/Golem. Here's a real wacky one, give Raspy-1 an ability that allows her crew to treat models with Slow as Ice Pillars, and if this would remove the Ice Pillar it instead removes Slow. Fair warning, I haven't looked through all the things this could break, I just want more Slow synergy.
  4. Had a Leylines game against Titania 2 yesterday that ended in a close draw. I think I would lose the rematch though. I was able to Ice Pillar off Killjoy for most of the game (only a part of that was Creeping Ice, mostly just Silent One goodness) and in the post-game discussion my opponent regretted hiring him into this matchup and will take the Emissary in future. I'll post the lists and then talk about the Summons and after that the new models/Title. This was my list: Rasputina, Abominable - 10SS Cache Wendigo Envy with Diesel Engine Silent One with Magical Training Blessed of December Kaldgeist x 3 vs. Titania, Autumn Queen - 2SS Cache Gorar Killjoy Rougarou Erymanthian Boar Autumn Knight x 2, both with the Killjoy upgrade Changeling with Ancient Pact This list was very strong despite Killjoy making only 1AP of attacks against a Kaldgeist (which lived) over the entire game. My opponent was able to draw 6 additional cards every turn using Titania + the Changeling copying Titania which is very potent. On to what I learned. Summons: I think the worst summon in general is the December Acolyte, even if you have the card. Summoning one up the board on turn 1 before crews engage has some justification, especially if you can Tools for the Job the summon card back to your hand without your opponent interrupting you. The Ice Pillars being cover just kills this model, and while the Armour +1 helps, it does nothing to fix the models role in the crew. I am still desperately hoping that I've somehow misunderstood the Cryosleep ability and that by treating an Ice Pillar as a Corpse Marker you can also stop treating it as an Ice Pillar temporarily (problematically, this would allow you to walk on it), but as far as I know that is not the case. More on that later as it also hurts Rasputina. Silent Ones as always are excellent. I summoned one on turn 3 and it was immediately able to start dropping pillars or healing as needed, and with Armour +1 and being able to target through Ice Mirror it is very hard to remove. I summoned an Ice Dancer on turn 4 that may have been able to help me score the Strat that turn, and definitely would have helped the next turn. Butterfly Jump, Armour +1, and easy healing is a good combo. These are definitely good summons sometimes due to the ease of leaving engagements and the synergy with Kaldgeists. Finally, I summoned a Hoarcat on turn 1 because my highest card was a 9. I severely underrated these as summons purely due to how effective Manipulative is when you can place the model up the board unactivated. These guys with Armour +1 are amazing tar pits, and the range you can summon them is amazing. On turn 1 I was able to summon one engaged with two Autumn Knights (both had already activated, but Titania hadn't so this blocked her free movement aura) which delayed my opponents entire game plan. My opponent went with Titania and used her, plus a triggered attack from an Autumn Knight, to deal four damage to it after Armour and move it out of Engagement with one of the Knights. Then it went at the end of the turn walked back into engagement (it was still Engaged with one so couldn't charge) and ate an Ice Pillar to heal up 2 ready for next turn with Manipulative back up. Later in the game when I summoned a December Acolyte I sent it in to do a similar tar pit role (as I couldn't shoot ANYTHING with all the Concealing Markers + all the Cover my markers provided) and it just folded. Kaldgeists: They are amazing. I strongly recommend keeping one back in your crew to stack shielded on your backline when necessary. Otherwise, a pair of these make for excellent schemers surprisingly while also acting as forward nodes. Their Jagged Ice action is quite good when you're just trying to annoy models that you've pinned down on the other side of a wall of Ice with Silent Ones or Raspy. The only problem I have with them is that Frostbite actually has very little synergy with the rest of the crew as it has very little synergy with the Mutilate trigger, which is how most of the crew gives Slow. Mutilate checks if they have Slow already and only tries to apply it if they don't, which means this aura is still bad even now that you have it on a minion that is actually good, with the mobility to get it near enemies and good ways to give out Slow. Raspy: Abominable Rasputina is way better than Raspy1. But like Raspy1 I found her shockwave to be the only good attack action she has. She also has the Summon, which is very, very good, but I'm just talking about the attacks here. I copied Fissure of Frost almost every turn with the Wendigo just for the extra Pillar, the range, and the chance of card draw, and it's what i had the most success with on Raspy's turns as well. The other attacks have a few problems that work against them, but they aren't competing for AP with Fissure of Frost so it is more a disappointment or personal gripe about how this version of Raspy is similarly Shockwave focused in the end. The problems with Northern Winds are that it doesn't ignore Friendly Fire, and that the damage will usually be at an extra negative on an already terrible spread due to cover from Ice Pillars unless you want to discard a card for every trigger due to Ice Mirror (which still sucks). Cold Snap is decent but it has some problems as well. The good parts, you can use it on a charge (which will probably give a Shielded due to Ice in the Veins) and the Rift of Snow trigger can get you out of engagement. The bad part is that it's range 1" and you never want to put your Ice Pillars within 1" of your enemy as that saves them an AP to remove it. The Rift of Snow trigger helps if you can land it, but it still might be a better option to just Create the Pillar 2" away and not attack with the melee, thereby guaranteeing that your enemy will have to spend an extra AP to remove the pillar. Still a good attack, just not the focus of her offensive combat like I'd hoped. If they release a Focus spamming model in the Arcanist starter box this attack gets way better. Overall what this crew is missing is card draw, and a way for the crew to ignore Ice Pillars. If Cryosleep was intended to do that and they FAQ it I will be very happy with the crew. If Hoarcats, Ice Dancers, and December Acolytes (along with Ice Gamin, Snow Storm, and maybe a Laugh Off equivalent ability while touching an Ice Pillar for the Ice Golem) are buffed for Raspy1 then that could also bring up the crew and fix the most egregious Ice Pillar problem (which is definitely December Acolytes).
  5. Not many of your models are going to have ways to generate actions (and they're usually triggers), so you're very rarely going to generate that many markers per turn with Spreading Influence, unless you're facing Bandit or Monk or something that spams Fast/Concentrate. It might be worth it to hire Sensei Yu in an Archer spam list to give Shouting Orders + Fast, and get great card draw with Good for a Laugh on Hurricane Punch. Very expensive though.
  6. Thunder Archers have a trigger on their bonus action to take the Concentrate Action, which would drop a Shadow Marker in base contact with them setting them up for Shadow Pin on their Blessed Longbow. Also enemies disengaging generates a Disengaging Strike, which would allow you to get concealing if a model like MDB tries to Disengage + shoot you. It also disincentivizes enemies trying to stop you from Disengaging, as it'll set up Wilting Tsubaki/Wrapped in Darkness and a bunch of other things.
  7. Anyone got any thoughts on the Wind Golem in Sandeep 1? There is no world where I combine three Wind Gamin into this thing, I probably wouldn't even combine two into one if I could.
  8. Don't forget that Banasuva and Kandara are both Academics. All you need is to hire one Academic minion as a caddy for Magical Training and you're set with four Academics. Also you can get them to Charge with Students of All to get movement for the Elemental, followed by a wherever the Academic activated.
  9. Honestly, as a Kaeris player, I really don't like the swingy nature of the ability. Sure, for some crews it's hard to move her, but for others it's pretty trivial and, as you said, the burning builds up quickly due to her always wanting to move/charge into pyres (which gives Burning +2 per charge). A Master like new Lady J, new Pandora, or new Yan Lo, or a model like Thirty Three with Incorporeal and Pine Box, or anyone with Scatter, or a model with I've Got Your Back can cause you to consistently take the Radiance damage on Kaeris if you don't force last activation. It may not be a problem on turn 1 or 2, but even if you're playing her without trying to build up burning you'll probably be getting up there in the later turns. It feels really really bad having to intentionally ignore your playstyle and schtick (and ignore her weird version of flight, basically) to just play in these matchups, and it is certainly going to feel even worse for your opponent if they don't have one of these counters. I wish they'd remove it to be honest. Instead, maybe let her heal from burning (plus reduce it by amount healed), and give her the Flare Up ability from Deacon's card. Or something completely different, like make it a simple duel to resist it for enemies but allow it to heal or move her rather than damage her. Make the ability not so horribly one sided against whoever gets hit by it. I definitely agree that this kind of ability (it's also on the Corpse Curator) seems problematic for the game, in part due to the lack of a cap.
  10. Use Four Winds Punch (from the Wandering River Style upgrade) twice. His totems can also take it as a bonus action while he has it attached.
  11. The issue is that if both the decoy and Colette are treated as the same model (meaning the decoy's wounds being lowered is the same as Colette's being lowered, or the "two way street" interpretation) then if "one" of them is engaged it means that the singular model that both of them are representing satisfies the rules requirements of being engaged. If they aren't being treated as separate models (by, for example, the decoy just being a snapshot copy of Colette at the time of taking the Routine Performance action, now in a completely new location, the "one way street" interpretation) then either one of them being engaged causes the singular model they represent to suffer the effects of engagement. If Colette truly is in two places at once (thereby allowing them to share a wound pool and have things that affect the decoy directly affect Colette) then the general rules do not care which of the models that represent her are in a location for the purposes of binary effects like engagement and auras, they weren't designed for that sort of thing. Having binary positioning based effects be different for the Decoy and the real Colette seems incompatible with the two way street interpretation. Please grace us with the FAQ we desire Wyrd. I'm guessing they iterated through a lot of different wordings while testing this and that's how they ended up with one that still left so many questions. This particular wording doesn't allow the marker to move when Colette walks/charges, which is a lot of the point of the ability. Honestly, if they release an FAQ that outlines exactly what the action is supposed to do, I can live with wording that isn't 100% clear because it seems really hard to fit in the space available on the card.
  12. She couldn't do that if it is a one way relationship, if the marker is treated as though it were her but not vice versa. If a Routine Performanced marker is an exact copy of her model then it would also copy a detrimental condition like Stunned, but if it triggered a defensive trigger that gave it stunned then Colette should have no reason to gain it, as she is not treated as though she were the target. What makes no sense is if you are applying that sort of two way street logic (i.e. she actually does take hazardous and other effects that her decoys trigger) while also making a distinction based on position which has no rules basis. If they're considered to be literally the same model, which is required for this kind of damage to be put on the real Colette model, then by rules if a model is engaged it can't take projectile actions, even if one half of its base is not engaged (the decoy). If it's in an aura then only one part of its base is required to overlap the aura for it to apply the effect to the model. Worst of all the Shell Game trigger is referring to a model that exists in two places on the board, which allows for insane kidnapping range. I don't like and strongly disagree with that interpretation, but it is the only one that makes sense for the position of Colette receiving any detrimental effects the obeyed decoy triggers.
  13. Oh, that was just my hopes for the inevitable FAQ. My issue with your interpretation (or how I understood your interpretation, I think your stance might actually be closer to mine than I thought) from a "fluff" perspective (so not any issues I might have with the actual rules arguments) is that Colette's illusory double taking damage from hazardous shouldn't cause Colette to take damage from hazardous. I've seen some people argue (and I thought this was your position) that the relationship between Colette and the obeyed Colette is a two way street, which in my view is incompatible with the whole different auras and engagements thing. So according to this view if the target takes the summon trigger then Colette counts as having taken it, and if the target marker or Dove charges into Hazardous then the outcome would be two damage from Hazardous onto the real Colette. They would also argue (and I agree the alternative may be unbalanced) that if Colette has Focused +1 and uses Routine Performance then the target expending focused also expends it from Colette. I've also seen some people argue that targeting a Dove means you treat the Dove as the Colette model in addition to the Dove model, meaning that a summon token on the Dove model would block interacts using Routine Performance, although they never seem to bring up Insignificant so maybe I'm misunderstanding their position. My take is that the model taking the action is an exact copy of Colette, and so doesn't have any Summon token because Colette didn't have one. Honestly the dozen different arguments about different parts of this model just bothers me and I am just really desperately hoping it gets an FAQ or rewrite ASAP. FYI some of your text is hard to read in dark mode (grey text with a white background), when copy/pasting I think there is an option to paste as plain text which fixes it.
  14. I don't think this interpretation is correct. I don't see how it is possible for the decoy to share some effects (such as damage and conditions) with Colette but not others (such as auras and engagements), the rules don't support that AFAIK. If these two models are treated as the same model for the purposes of health and conditions and the summon trigger, why aren't they treated as the same model for the purposes of auras, engagements, and the Shell Game trigger, which would be broken? The issue with the action is that there is no wording that supports the original Colette actually teleporting or treating her position as identical to the targets position, the target is simply treated as though it were Colette. If it isn't a copy (with all the other problems that might entail) then it simply must be affected by the position of the original Colette. So if OG Colette is engaged then the actual model "Colette" is affected by the Engagement rules, and something that is treated as her must still be affected by that. Quite simply this needs an FAQ. You need to stretch and interpret the wording too much to conclude anything satisfactorily enough to have a proper consensus/ruling IMO. I don't personally have much of an attachment to ruling it either way (copy or "the same model") or another way entirely, but what I do oppose is hazardous going through illusions and the summon tokens/insignificant from doves affecting interacts.
  15. Maybe Asami? Asami is also an insane hire into the crew though. Main benefit is you can grab whatever card you use for summoning back (if you have it), or you can go through a chunk of your deck and grab the 13 straight from the Discard pile. Probably better off just hiring Asami into Qi & Gong though, you aren't missing much synergy, and if you stick to summoning Jorogumo (pretty easy with that insane card swapping) then you won't really be that restricted with the whole 3 summon limit thing after you suicide them in a few turns in a row. I think double masters is gonna be banned competitively by everyone when this book drops, we'll see.
  16. Attacks can't target yourself, tacticals can.
  17. If you can kill the Charm Warders, or all the nearby Geisha/Kabukis that enable them, then that is most of the card hate in the crew gone.
  18. I'm still praying that whatever versatiles are in the supposed Arcanist Starter Box will have some kind of marker manipulation/removal. Please give us the versatile removal we need Wyrd, I don't want to face these new masters without it!
  19. I'm not 100% sure to be honest, but I think it should be resolved together. I'm looking at the core rulebook and some of the only places I see "additional damage" is in Poison and Burning which use similar wording. I've never played it as Shielded blocking each point of condition damage separately, or Armor effectively being ignored by them because it's a bunch of separate pings of 1 damage, and I really hope Alcohol Poisoning isn't meant to do +1 damage per 3 extra poison. My guess would be that it is just added on to the main damage, thereby being resolved ignoring armour and being affected by Incorporeal only once. It will also be fully blocked by effects that reduce a source of damage to 0.
  20. Well there's a huge narrative connection between lying and Poison (poisonous words), and it could work for several others like Stunned, Distracted, Shielded, Staggered, and Adversary. The only disconnect is Burning (most often associated with truth, although maybe you could do something with "red in the face" for embarrassment or "liar liar pants on fire"), and I think the only reason that's been put there is because of Elemental Backlash. Reworking it to be Poison, Distracted and one other condition (Staggering revelation? Shocking rumour for Stunned? Comforting lies for Shielded maybe? Adversary for the whole prince of lies angle...) would be better I think. You could put a few Slander triggers in there as well ("Target gains Distracted +1. If the target is within 2 of a Scheme Marker, it suffers 1 damage."), although you'd need to add scheme marker synergy, and now that I think about it that would be a good direction to go in for a "Deceit" model. That might step on Gluttony's toes though. I'd say add the "Fake News" trigger but it's too powerful for a non-master/a versatile model to have I think. It would be great thematically though. There's so much fodder for a good lying themed model to be honest.
  21. Yeah, they already kinda had their fill of that with Misaki. They can obey her to charge, although it needs a 10 instead of a 6 like Youko. I honestly think the only reason that Information Broker mentions Chiyo as an option is so that Terracottas can't take it.
  22. That's Gather Intel, but the only thing you're missing about it is Terracotta Warriors exist and can copy it at stat 4. Being able to hand out effectively a walk + attack (important for Kabukis that it isn't a charge) or a walk + scheme marker is a very strong action, and combined with the activation control of the crew (Youko alone starts 2 activations ahead with those Pass Tokens) will probably win games all on its own. On Kabukis the enemy will be at to the Wp duel as well, and on Geisha (who are very squishy, so be careful) they are getting hit with a Wp targeting Slow in a Distraction aura.
  23. Her crew also doesn't give out all that much distracted itself. I think treating the Distracted as mostly secondary and focusing on Gather Intel is probably the way to go. Maybe doing the Ama No Zako double Hidden Ledger for Black Stain is the way to go, just for the tilt factor for people who worry about that sort of deck manipulation. Just think, you could get rid of 10 severes by turn 5 if you get lucky and do it twice per turn!
  24. Looks very cool. My only suggestion would be that you should find a way to fit Aura of Deception in there: Also, I think that "Consumed by Lie" is too weak for a Sin token aura. It should probably just discard a token and then do damage, no need to remove the condition IMO.
  25. I don't know if it counts as Colette placing the marker actually, I think it's her obeying a marker to take an action. I may be wrong.
