  3. Yup, need to be 7" away with a charge of 6. digital rulebook, pg. 39: "(2) Charge: Target a model within LoS. Move this model up to its Cg in a straight line. This model must end the move with the target model within its engagement range or this Action may not be taken. This model then takes two Range Attack Actions against the target model. Each of these Actions must have an AP cost of 1. A model may not declare this Action if it is engaged (see Engagement, pg. 48) or if it has a Cg of “—”." I don't need a 1 AP to take a charge action, just to not be engaged and have a Cg value. If it just so happens that after I am there I get to take 2xactions. You must also end your move within it's engagement to charge, but on pg. 44 "Every model has an “engagement range” equal to the distance of its longest range Close () Attack." Mages have a 1" on their zero. So you can still charge, you must just end within 1" so are within their engagement range (even if they cannot use that attack on disengaging cause it is a zero). fun note, the other mages can still charge b/c of this, they just don't have any legal attacks to take once they get there.

(I'm not even going to into Sandeep shenagins)

  7. What is the minimum beast buy list/ current hotness for Marcus right now? He is last master for me in Arcanists and looking to get him up and running with minimal investment just to have him. Have essentially all Arcanist wave 4 non-beast models, steam fitter, Marcus box and raptors in collection already. Thank you

Ironsides is not going to win the game by herself, and the crews I take with her (i.e. bubbling and slow moving and overlapping auras starting with mages) get wiped off the board too quickly by Sonnia. Could be a sign I am just too restrictive in my crew selection for Ironsides because I am trying to make use of her abilities. But I do have more variety in other masters that can weather the attacks a bit better (due to reduction, spacing, speed, other Ca resisting abilities, etc...) because those are the crews that work with those masters for me.

  10. What is giving her negatives in the first place? Warding Runes will strip suits from the cast and one of the wards will give the holder of Warding Runes positives to Df, which doesn't mean all that much if Sonnia is at Ca 9 with positives cause of Wp of her target. Amina is causing them maybe, cover? Throw in flame walls to break LoS after she is done so retaliating is difficult and I have had bad times every time I tried to bring an Ironsides crew into Sonnia, I am just too scared at this point to try again. I need to bring in those who can move a little quicker and a little more independently than I play Ironside crews.
  11. Ironsides into Guild: Sonnia can blast harder and at a longer range than anything Ironsides brings to the table. Doesn't help that HPM requires you to group either

    Ouch. Start blocking LoS between your own pieces? Ridiculous as it is to do that instead of between Sonnia and your guys, it is a lot easier to control. Not going to stop the avalanche of damage on single targets, but models that cannot see the original target of the attack do not take damage from blasts (digital rulebook pg. 58 in box on bottom of the page). On paper seems like a lot of difficult work for a little effect against a simple strategy so not much of a "counter play" in the end, but every little bit helps
  13. son of a ...! Thank you for correcting me on this. Excuse me while I go apologize for to a 4 or 5 opponents and contemplate another missed opportunity for Kaeris. Time to go back to Carlos blowing up a scheme marker again to hand out mass burning before Kaeris activates (needs low cards to cheat down on the duels sometimes though cause you can relent simple duels.)
  14. I now prefer flaming swoop. Light on fire as many as you want turn 1 as long as you lined them up. needs a 10+ on a positive flip to go off though Jinn has corrected me below that this is not legal
  15. Yeah, her summoning upgrade is pretty trash, for all the reasons mentioned. But it is hardly the first card from the first 2 waves to be trash. Look at your other masters and tell me there aren't are least a few upgrades you will never take again. Maybe some masters have 6 viable ones, but I'm sure you'll be able to find others that don't. For me an easy example is Ironsides reflip red joker received damage, and that was before steam fitter could give a condition that reduced RJs to moderate Put out enough cards and some are going to be duds, just happens. And upgrades are probably a much smaller priority to fix than dud models for sale and hobby reasons

Trigger on her attack: Go for the Throat: When damaging, if the target does not have the Armor Ability or Condition, target suffers +1 damage (1) Small Weakness: Until the end of the Turn, enemy models within 6 which are targeted with an Attack Action lose the Armor and Hard to Wound Abilities and Conditions for the duration of the Attack Action. Adaptive Armor: Friendly Constructs within 6 of this model may not have their Armor ignored and may reduce damage regardless of any enemy effects that state otherwise. edit: maybe? in retro I think you were going for something different. Carry on
  21. well as @WWHSD just said right before you, if it is two parts you get to cover your bases on ignoring armor and then on non-armor damage reduction too. So there are different effects.

So you read the "and" as a continuation of the conditions rather than a part 2 of two separate effects. I guess I can see that and will mull it over.
  24. Side note on my opinions cause it came up earlier: large arachnid is definitely trying to ignore armor with its condition ("Torn to shreds: This models may not reduce damage with the Armor Ability or condition"). Improved Harness 110% trumps that and the target gets full damage reduction from armor.
