  1. I have been Richard deValmont now for more years than I care to remember. I got 'deValmont' as a nickname due to my reputation at university, based upon the scheming lothario character in Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Laclos. It stuck when I used it as my stage name for many years, my real name not being very rock and roll.
  2. I used to DJ at a goth club in the 90s/2000s, and we once worked out that between three DJs we had 29 different remixes of Headhunter in our collections. We used to dream of doing a night where we just played them and nothing else.
  3. It's a normal 50mm base, you just can't see the lip very well because of the lighting. On the other pictures it's clearer to see.
  4. If you think that the German language is only ever harsh and brutal sounding, I strongly suggest you go onto Youtube and listen to the song Künstliche Welten, by Wolfsheim. It'll surprise you.
  5. I think it's easier to think of a models HT value being the general vertical area that the model takes up, so if you envisage Nekima using her wings during battle she could be hovering 1m above the ground. Same as if a normal HT2 model is always bunched over then he's HT1 (Sebastian).
  6. I would probably say the puppets would fall under the 'using a model that was converted with manufactured pieces, no more than 33% of the finished model may be built using other game companies’ models, while the rest must be either wholly or a combination of original sculpt or Wyrd manufactured pieces' bit from GG2015. The puppet could reasonably considered to be a conversion using 100% Wyrd parts, and even if not I am 100% sure that no TO is going to disallow them.
  7. I use the Harionago from the Bushido line as my Jaakuna Ubume, but I think she'd work as Chiaki as well (She'd also make a decent Bete Noire if there weren't already three nice models for her).
  8. I like the cell-shading style you've used to paint your models. Simple, eye catching and reminds me a lot of the artwork in the Borderlands games, which is always a damn good thing.
  9. Maaan, I got higher or matching VP with six people who placed higher than me. Getting there slowly, but I need to start earning those tournament points!
  10. It's OK, get signed with the SMP and you can live wherever you like.
  11. Blimey, less than two weeks into its conception and we've got a conference system already. This is starting to sound like serious business, when's the transfer window?
  12. I think this is best dealt with at the TO level. I agree with several people above: Scheme not recorded correctly - cannot score from that scheme (Max 7VP) Soulstone limit exceeded - 10-0 for that game to opponent Clear evidence of cheating - TO discretion, either 10-0 for that game or disqualification. Then there's no black marks on MalifauxRankings (A terrible idea, in my opinion), but people are being penalised with some level of standardisation.
  13. Has anybody actually suggested that writing down the wrong scheme would result in a warning? I've not seem mention of this in this thread as anything other than 'Oh bugger, now I can only get 7 points' and I don't think anybody's arguing that that's not punishment enough.
  14. I've only got one wooden spoon, but that is because I've only played one tournament, so it'll be a SpoonOff!
  15. I would say that just premeasuring and not premoving, as Justin suggests the rules state. I say this because I have been in a position where I've measured a model, moved it up, and then realised I couldn't do what I wanted to. My opponent was fine with me moving the model back, but when I did and measured again I couldn't be totally sure that I hadn't subconsciously placed it slight better positioned for this second move. My opponent wasn't sure either and so I ended up not doing either of my planned things with that model (I think I just moved it a bit and put down a scheme marker). I am a bit of a worrier because I am quite clumsy - I constantly worry that my opponent thinks I do things for my benefit when it's usually just me nudging a model when measuring by accident. And sometimes I probably handicap myself to prevent these situations, so I wouldn't risk premoving any more. What you could do, though, is keep some spare bases around. I'm sure that a reasonable opponent wouldn't mind you popping down an empty base where you want to move your model to, for LoS checking.
  16. Well we could do with a handful of those hardcore, WAAC, powerlisting 40k players to play against Neverborn players.
  17. Maniacal Laugh would also go really well with Molly and McMourning, being summoners that don't really do much with Corpse Markers (But are likely to end up surrounded by them anyway) they can just occasionally do a Laugh and let the Zombies tarpit while the rest of the crew does their evil work.
  18. Oh Hateful, you sweet Summer Child. I heartily recommend going over there and just enjoying the Waaaghmbulance.
  19. I wouldn't say that they're geared towards futuristic games, WFB and LOTR both have just as much forum space as 40k. They are very GW heavy though, and I just suspect that Wyrd are just below their big company radar (or at least they were, I can't see much evidence that Corvus Belli is a bigger company than Wyrd nowadays, at least not in the shops and gaming centres.)
  20. I've just been over to the Warseer forums. I go over there every so often to remind myself why I don't play 40k any more, if I don't then I might accidentally buy Space Hulk or something and end up sinking back in again. And I noticed that down at the bottom, there are options for discussion of Privateer Press Games (fair play, they have WMH and that's a strong 2nd place contender to GW games), Mantic and Corvus Belli. But if you want to discuss Malifaux there's a thread under 'Sci Fi and Fantasy games', on page 2. Does this seem out of place to anyone? Surely if Infinity deserve their own subsection then Malifaux does too? Or is it just because not many people who play Malifaux go over to the Warseer boards (the Malifaux thread hasn't been updated since July)? Has anybody petitioned for Wyrd to have their own subsection, or is nobody that bothered with Warseer? (This would be my guess).
  21. IN like Rafkin. Question is, who wants a handicap by being my partner?
  22. Math's not joking, there are crews that would absolutely wipe you up with that amount of terrain. Perdita, Ophelia, anyone with a lot of lure/movement tricks.
  23. Another reason (that might just be me) when I've got all my cards down on the table with the wounds marked on them in whiteboard pen, they can get smudged if I keep picking them up. So I keep a hand of cards which has one of each of the models on the board. So I might have 3 Canine remains cards in front of me with wounds for each model marked on them, but have a fourth one in my reference hand which I use for checking rules. This is also useful for people who put dice down on the cards to mark wounds.
  24. Oddly enough, I have read that, and had the earlier bit regarding Lilith and LoS in mind when I wrote that. I did however completely forget about the 'suffers' bit later on though, which does kibosh my argument a bit. However, this is the internet and as Stewart Lee says "you can prove anything with 'facts'", so I still think I'm right.
