  4. Hi all, As stated on Twitter/Facebook I will be taking over the running of the UK Masters from MythicFox & Clousseau (thanks to both for their great work over the last couple of years). What I want is to get the communities feedback on what they think is great about the Masters currently, what they feel are opportunities to improve and what they feel just needs to be got rid of (Bin, Bank, Build approach). I want to incorporate all elements of Malifaux into the masters, from the gameplay to the painting talents of the community and so on. With that in mind please see the Poll's I have set up across multiple questions, please take 10 minutes out of your day to give me your constructive feedback (your opinion, and then your reasoning, not just "its rubbish, because I say it is"). Anything in regards to in-play experience I will already be working on myself (time display, card space etc.) I thank you for your time in reading this and hopefully we can improve on what already is a great event. Regards Graham Bursnell

  11. Any more room/drop outs for the event Dave? Wanted to enter late now I've been paid if possible.
  12. After finally getting over post tournament drain I'd love to give my feedback on the event overall. Having been to a lot of faux tournaments and a lot of big 100+ Fantasy tournaments I was keen to see how the first Huge Malifaux tournament would fare and I've got to say thatnks to the organisation of Mike, Jen, Matt, Lee, Dave etc. I was left extremely impressed. Sign up was very well organised, we arrived early and went through the process in a matter of minutes so no complaints there. I played all my games upstairs so regarding the heat/noise issue, yes it was a bit hot (don't think it was uncomfortable) but I cannot make comparisons with playing downstairs (seemed fine when I was eating down there). On the noise I think one of the main culprits for this could of been the queue system for handing in results. I played nearly all of my games on the balcony tables and whenever a small queue formed and people obviously socialised this made it very difficult for people on those tables to carry on playing or resolve thier games. My only suggestion would be to reverse the stairs up/down and have the queue form up from behind where Mike was sitting. Regarding Mike's love of Microphones, personally yes it can be distracting, but I think asking Mike to not have his little bits of banter when hes consistently calling out round times and at a laptop inputting results all day might drive him mad, and considering this is only for 10/20 seconds this shouldn't be an issue in a 2 hour game. The draws were a bit shaky to begin with but absolutely fine for the most part, having to organise 60+ tables and give everyone the information in a timely manner is a hard task and with the tools at your working disposal I thought you handled it magnificently. Location, food and drinks were all amazing endless tea all day makes SQUIGS happy and you can't bemoan the speed at which we got our food when it was here which left plenty of time for socialising/eating (compared to previous big Fantasy tournaments I've been to where you were left queueing for 15/20mins on some occasions). I did have reservations that the amount of people in that event might cause some extreme over crowding however I was gladly proved wrong and I felt that there was enough room between tables to get by people sat down without having to interupt them. Regarding rules pack and gameplay itself, I had my bug bears with the trinity rules but its not something that would put me off an event, just adapt to it, and regarding my 7 games I played a lot of new people that I hadn't played before and had one of the best events I've had in a longtime and hopefully my 7 opponents had as much fun as i did (Luke, Keith, Joe, Martin, James, Zak & Alex). Mike I'm very glad you're going to be running it again next year, and with a few minor tweaks to the location (the carpeting you've already mentioned etc.) and banning Joel from the next one (seriously.....please do something about him....taking that 3rd place trophy with a bunch of pianos is not big or funny) I think it will be continually getting bigger and better!! Roll on 2017.
  13. Yeh all those tryhards with Viks, Leve & Hamelin.......Bandits & Ninjas are much better!!!

  17. Hi Liam, can you let me know if theres a reserves list? wouldn't mind coming to this if a space frees up.
  18. But are you going to use it Martin.......
  19. Just paid for myself & Brooks Martin. Look forward to seeing you all there!!
  20. I believe the majoritt of thier problems come at deployment (and who deploys 1st/2nd). If your deploying first, I normally aim to be placed a maximum of 6" away from your own deployment, and always have them hugging a bit of cover. This should hopefully mean your set up to shoot anything your opponent wants to double walk turn 1, you have cover from enemy ranged attacks, and with raspy you can move them out and forward if needed as an ice mirror (if theres no threat from opponent to tie them up). As said above, aim for low defence to ditch cards, and control the game from there.
  21. I think a couple of good models to use in both ironsides and collette crews is Angelica & Willie. Willie i believe is M&SU and offers some good threat at range with ironsides buff. Angelica is just a good option for pushing your big hitters into place. I know Mythicfox often guides players to use johan & angelica combined as an alternative to the captain.
