  1. It's just a part of the site, I just have been checking it a lot lately. It just changed today as far as I know. It refers to it as a Special Edition sniper, which I believe was the one from last year. It has the same art representing it at any rate, the one with the blade being drawn. Certainly not any colored plastic version.
  2. Like I needed more excuses to want to buy Shenlong, I'll gladly take a chance to get the Promo Katanaka! My only reason question is, new items are normally released later in the month (As far as I understand), and it mentions in the promo page that it may contain the new model. If I were to ask a local store to order me the new Shenlong box, how sure could I be that it would be in the box? I don't have any stores around me that order Wyrd regularly on their own, so typically if I ask them to order, it is implied that I will be the one purchasing said special order. So while I love the idea of the promo, I would at least like to know if there were a way to make sure it was going to go through, or if I would be better off looking for a slightly further away store that may have higher volume of Malifaux business.
  3. Uhhgugh. I feel like Doppelgangers are such hard McMuffins, like.. they feel hard to write in because they can be so gimmicky or exactly what you need them to be. I don't know, I just have misgivings about them. Although I will say for the most part this was quite decent. The writing was fairly engaging though, and I liked the style. The biggest gripe I would say is by far the scene where she kills him (Spoiler alert). I mean, his "soldier’s intuition took over first" and all that, but moments later he was falling into the "My wife just killed me" role of bewilderment, I would figure knowing that the person to be hanged was from the Neverborn would mean he has some knowledge of what was going on, hell even the Beggar understood the general concept of Neverborn/Doppelganger. It just seems like it may have been better to have asked like "My god, you killed my wife" or something, rather than trying to, at least in my opinion, force the "Did you ever love me" part in.
  4. Anyone looking for a game starting in the next few hours?
  5. The Sow, Gators, McTavish, Old Cranky, Rooster Riders, Gupps, Spawn Mother, Warden, Malifaux Raptor, I think. I would be very surprised if I'm not missing someone. Ones I have not seen/have no knowledge of additionally: Kamaitachi (The generic totem for 10T), Grem Taxidermist (Sounds like friends with McMourning), Black Blood Sham, Insidious Madness?, Large Arachnid, Rafkin, Witchling Handler/Wardens, Exorcist, Hunter or Guild Hounds. There were a few others I can't tell if I have ever seen/know about. And a few of them have older models I have heard of, but don't think they've been done in plastics/new renders, which I assume the question is about.
  6. Does it take to screw in a lightbulb? But.. actually I was going to say -- is too many? Do you think there are too many already, or too many to expand? I was reading the Wish-list thread, and I am surprised that people would wish for no more Masters, while at the same time wanting any other models to crop up. I mean, granted Masters have usually rather more expansive list of abilities, I don't think they are the only ones who throw the game into a different light when employed. Henchmen, enforcers and even some minions can really shake things up for the way a faction plays/interacts in the game. Anna Lovelace is a fairly good example for something that can warp an aspect of the game fairly hard. And even while being a relatively simple minion, the Jorogumo certainly offer a bit of a new threat to Last Blossom game-play. In the end, models are going to represent new possibilities that may tip balance regardless of if they are full tilt (like a master) or not (Enforcers/Minions). It just seems odd to me to suppose that not expanding on the masters, which are the center-pieces mechanics wise and inspiration wise, would be a strictly good thing. I mean, obviously a certain finesse is required, and releasing masters in a fashion becoming of their station and impact on the game is well and good. But never seems like a stretch to me. It would be interesting to see the game pace itself in a rotation style like so many TCGs, with new rule-books ushering in a change in format, to allow controlled fluctuation in the possible composition of crews. Although the effort needed to create new mechanical identities to do this on a regular basis, and do so with enough masters at once would be.. quite surmountable. Although it may be preferable to the typical fashion of Table-top miniature games where eventually they simply do an edition reset with new-rules-compatible updates to replace ones we already know. Granted the production cycles and efforts required to print and sell mini's is certainly going to be different than anything M:tG would have to deal with, so of course, it's a super unrealistic business model to try and force the game into. Although perhaps on a 2-3 year cycle it could work. Although making a "Legal" standard to play by, that rotates out models as per needed would make design choices not limited by potential interactions that need to be avoided. But new masters do have to come eventually, I would imagine. They drive the insanity forward, and despite the rather large quantity of masters currently (Across the factions) it would seem Wyrd isn't doing a poor job with keeping things relevant and playable. And I think they know better than to splurg out 21 new masters every new book (Or at least know how to do it right, if they do), but I certainly hope they don't stop all together as well.
  7. Oh, so it is more of a recent restock, I'm not just crazy for thinking I was having a hard time for so long when apparently I could have come directly to Wyrd. That's a relief at least
  8. It's even easier than that, because if you break LoS from the Mage to Toni she drops the buff too. If a 40mm anything just steps between her and the mage it all but ensures they can't see each other, and that is even easier to do if they are really sitting back and preventing you from killing the mage. Granted Toni can basically teleport anywhere she wants (Unless a Resser brings Anna now, or anyone since she's a Merc) so she could avoid this, but if all you need to do is drop paralyze on her, it'll be too late anyways. I certainly think Toni is pretty damn cool when played right, but any master is going to be hell if you play directly into what they want to be doing. You just gotta figure out how to break the fidgety little parts that keep them together.
  9. Right. My question wasn't how many he could generate, it was how many cards could be flipped max. I was asking if there was a limit, because you made it look/sound like you could potentially be flipping (As you stated previously with Levi generating 5x Positive twist) 6 cards choosing the highest. But I just found the rule on page 27 of the main book, so my question is answered anyways: "The maximum number of cards a model may flip is four, regardless of the number of Fate modifiers in effect." That's what I was looking for. Well Brewmaster says that if you attempt an action you must pass the TN 12 Wp duel or take the (1) On the House action INSTEAD. So while it doesn't state in the rule that you stop testing, the result would be the same in the end for the model, they are taking the On the House action pass or fail, once they've failed at all. The only real difference that could matter in that case is if you are suppose to be testing Wp past the first, which would effectively just be burning cards for the player forced to continue Wp duels for no reason. The end result will be the same even if they subsequently pass 50 more Wp test. But I think it's implied that the Declaration of the a skill is the first event of the chain, and that when you subsequently take the (1) On the House action you are not "declaring" it, although looking at this thread it is clear the term declared is less solid of a point than we may consider it (As with Brewmaster himself and charges interaction). But I think the simplest way to rule it, or not to break the game, you would have to assume the ability does not infinitely loop into itself forcing a player to flip cards until they pass.
  10. You can only go up to 3x [+] right? For a total of 4 cards flipped? Or were you just saying 4 cards on a positive flip? Just making sure I am not misunderstanding that limit off hand. (Granted 4x [+] would be able to happen, and apply against any [-], right?).
  11. What are the Mystic and Macy Tengus? Also who is Beach Jerk (sounds like a swell guy!)? The three Tengu from the digital sculpt previews. Mystic is the robed one (that I like most), Macy took me a second but he literally means the one holding the mace. Beach Jerk is the one in front that looks like it is bowing up to show off it's muscles. It is the sculpt I dislike most of the 3 and the name immediately made sense to me. I am letting the Wyrd Tengu grow on me over time since I won't use proxies, it just was initially shocking that their looks don't match their role very well. Maybe Wyrd thinks we should be beating face with our Tengus. Maybe.. we're doing it wrong!
  12. Re-thread-omancy a bit, but I think it's more appropriate than starting a whole new thread. Plus I think this thread has a lot of really great information. I wanted to add/ask something though about the LRMs, has anyone used them with Misdirect? It seems like their ability to heal fairly easily, and being cheap/defensible could mean they would make good redirects for your own master/henchman when you anticipate your opponent being able to ignore the effect. Although they only have 5 Wd, so it might be too much for them, depending on what they are having shunted onto them.
  13. I certainly wouldn't call her insane, but I definitely think she can live longer than McMourning if she's trying. But she can be hard to build up steam with and get rolling. Probably one of the only Arcanist masters out there I'd ever bother getting into.
  14. And with a bit too many bone saws.. and syringes...
  15. I got the only master that didn't suck at the time. Misaki. One of the first crews made in Plastics, at the end of 1e. First Wyrd models I was not at all hesitant to buy. All of their plastics far outclass the old metals, on top of the fact that metals are often hard to work with, I just prefer the sculpts/style. Plus ninjas. And up until this past month, I only played once every 5-8 months, maybe. On and off since 1e to now. Many of the games have been Misaki, and my primary opponent and I have had many disagreements over who's crew has stupider rules/abilities. He seems to hate what my ninja's do, although I find them rather lack luster, especially for 6ss often enough. I picked up Viks and McM during one of Wyrd's pre-sales, which ever year that was, and more recently I've been expanding my collection a bit. There aren't many masters I am not interested in owning, it's really just a mater of time for me. I would like to have enough to demo/show people the game with most anything they want to try out, would be the ultimate goal.
  16. I'm not sure when the next time I could fit a game in (Or your time zone/availability), but sure, I'd be down if we can work it out.
  17. Challenge accepted. Let us know how it goes! In pickup games I like Jigoku, but in a campaign I went Earth for the flexibility. I really need to get Heaven out on the table! I don't see why you would not want to use three. For 24ss, I'd gladly reenact a scene from Sucker Punch, I might need to be playing against Viks though. All things considered, they might do well against Viks..
  18. The big book, page 43. "The Pushed model cannot pass through impassable objects (Such as other models, or walls)..." So, off hand, no, you'd stop in base-to-base. If you had a trait that allowed you to ignore other models when moving, such as flying or incorporeal, I believe you'd still being stopping once you reached destination (IE, base-to-base). Even if it asked you to move 10" towards a model, if you would pass through and end up on the other side, you'd no longer be moving towards it. Sort of like how you can only run into a forest half-way? The other half is running out of it, theoretically. Unless there are fringe cases I don't know about, I am 100% sure on this. EDIT: Might as well ask here rather than making a new thread, because this is relevant enough: What are actions like the Oiran's Lure, or any actions phrased as "Move [[Target Model/Self]] its Wk.", treated as? Does that officially count as a walk action (For triggering anything, Disengaging Strikes for example), or is it treated as a Push? Is it a grey area in between, neither counting as an actual Walk (1) action, but also not forcing the straight lines and Impassable object stops? If so, does this mean it also does, or does not, ignore severe terrain for slowing the moved models Wk distance? The clause at the end of Lure, "[[The Target]] must end the move as close to this model as possible." seems to imply it would move differently than a Push (Which has implied movement restrictions, that would not require such a clause). Would a model without Incorporeal Lured through a window of a building for example, move to the nearest exit in attempt to get closer to the target Luring them?
  19. Pushes Towards/away/into base though, have to be in the most direct path possible right? IE, pushes away are a 180 degree straight line from the origin? Or have I misunderstood this?
  20. I dislike that mentality on the basis of, I buy models to paint them, and it often takes time. And while I enjoy painting, I might not always have as much available time as I'd like to put into painting models to finish a crew. The idea of painting things quickly to satisfy a tournament "qualification" irks me, because I want to paint the best I can, not simply meet some random 3-color and done requirement. Granted I could base-coat out the models or something, but it's often not the case that you want to be jumping around on a bunch of models only half-doing each (If you intend to take them further). Granted I'm the slowest painter in the world, so perhaps I have no say in any matter of painting speed. But It's just a preposterous idea to me, that anyone should have to rush/do a less than full quality job to meet a requirement. Especially when there are full rules for color/clear plastics being "As is" painted for the same tournaments Granted I also understand that bringing completely unpainted crews is not exactly alluring as a show of the hobby's triumphs. Really the thing that would be the biggest issue is recent releases vs tournaments starting, because the time wouldn't be there to finish potentially, and "finishing" simply to meet a requirement is a gross idea to me.
  21. Pfft, you and your spider loving ways. This guy..
  22. Wow. I am shocked at how many people aren't pleased with the pre-release render showing of the Tengus. I found that and was extremely happy to see them! I also wouldn't suspect that Tengus require wings to fly.. I would associate it more with the mystical/martial art MAGIC, they do. I mean, the Last Blossoms with Smoke & Shadows who Shadow Step aren't literally stepping into shadows to teleport (Maybe not literally), it's just.. a thing they do, it evokes the feel of "Oh shit they're everywhere!" even if there are few of them. Likewise the Tengu could have any manner of crazy martial arts technique they use to..*VOOP* teleport up/over terrain, rather than literally fly. Or maybe they literally fly, Hell I don't know! I just love their wicked looking beaks. And really, when we're talking about Tengus, the defining feature is often reduced to their beaks, rather than being like, literal birds (Often enough). Although I am certainly glad Wyrd didn't reduce them to the long-nosed humans that Tengus have been taken as far as in culture, that would have been awful. Although I will say I do like the Hell Dorado minis (And I love Soda Pop, who picked up the franchise!), so that is a great reason to go into those. Although I held off because I figured those models would be.. larger looking, and I imagined the Wyrd Tengu as being fairly deminuative (Mostly due to 4ss cost, and rather lacking ability besides movement). It's nice to see a comparison of their size for once. Although I was more interested in the "Vorenus" model, I didn't particularly like the Harriers as the Tengu for my 10T. Granted all the models in that line are fairly stunning. Never really looked into Bushido though, I haven't been too impressed with most of their things.
  23. I'm not sure this is the best place to find local players anywhere. This sub-forum is for Vassal, the program that offers play via internet for those of us lacking local friends. Perhaps asking a Mod/admin to place this in a more appropriate forum would help?
  24. Am I mistaken in understanding that Armor reduces damage from Burning?
  25. I already own all the avatars I plan to use for now, but I am really interested in seeing how those turn out I think it would be fine to just release some Emissaries, but the Shadow HAS to be amongst them. Every other faction has legal proxies, but 10T has nothing. Isn't it just a dragon basically? Why couldn't you use the Dawn Serpent as a stand in (On the right size base).
