  1. Take to the Skies resolves in the Upkeep Step. VPs are a separate, later step of the End Phase, so yes, Raptors are awesome.
  2. You seemed confused about some basic rules, so I thought it best to explain everything. I did not mean to patronize if you believe that was my intent. Good luck with your future games!
  3. That means the following: Ca <value> this is what you add to the value and suit of the card you flip or cheat. Lure normally has suits in its Ca value as well, which are added to the Final Duel Total along with the suit and value of the card flipped / cheated. TN <value> is the Duel Total you need to succeed. If you beat your target's Final Dual Total, but don't match or exceed your TN, your Action fails. Rst <value> is the Statistic that your target resists with. They use this stat to add to their card flipped or cheated. Rg <value> this is the range you can target a model with this Action in. A means Projectile, which is affected by cover and randomization, while mean Close, which has an Engagement Range and can make Disengaging Strikes.
  4. Any duel that has an "Rst" is an opposed duel. Any duel without an Rst is a simple duel. Example: Terrifying (Living) 13 forces Living enemy models to make a TN13 Wp Duel. Since there's no Rst, it's a simple duel. There are also abilities that read like: (Ca <value> / TN: <value>) -> these are simple duels as well. Lure reads (Ca <value> / Rst: Wp / Rng: <value>) - the Rst means Resisted By, and makes the Action an opposed duel. All Attack Actions are opposed duels, while most Tactical Actions are or create simple duels.
  5. I have absolutely no idea who to take in HH with Guild. Francisco seems great, but 8 wounds and Df 5, even with Wade In, is pretty bad. Ryle seems good, but Sh5 is meh. Dashel with 3 Riflemen is good if boring and incredibly crumbly in melee (I fully expect to see a Nekima-lead crew). The Judge is pretty average. Sidir seems like my best choice, esp against a crew with Belles. Samael is pretty squishy. What have you guys and gals run for Guild Henchman Hardcore?
  6. I fully admit I may be wrong, that's just how we've interpreted it recently in my neck of the woods. "Acting model" probably needs an FAQ. Road Kill Scholar definitely does as well.
  7. You are 100% right. "Move" effects with a given direction are just so rare (I've only found 1 in the whole game - "Lure"), I had completely forgotten that "towards / away" is only defined with pushes. My bad!
  8. Every month is at least 1-2 Crew Boxes, so I'd imagine Dreamer is in there.
  9. The Acting Model is clearly the model who is 1) taking an Action or 2) if 1 is not applicable, has the current Activation. Not all timings have Actions associated, which is why the Specialist is the Acting Model at the beginning of his own Activation in the instance of Catalyst and Punctured Tanks. Since this is not a game-defined term, we must use common English and sense: is a model who is currently doing something not acting? In the case of Actions, the model undertaking the current Action is the Acting Model in all interpretations. If there is no action, the model who is undergoing the current Activation is the Acting Model. This works for Obey and everything else. Correct. The rules for resolving effects tell us the First Player resolves effects first. If a First Player model gains an effect that needs resolved, resolution will pass back to the First Player after resolving the current effect, since they must resolve their effects before others. This is fully supported by the rules as written, if not explicitly pointed out. What needs FAQ'd is the timing of Road Kill Scholar. "If" is not a timing, but as Godlyness pointed out (and I now agree on), summons are usually "after", so I'd rule it as that until clarified.
  10. Gremlin "Lure": "Target model is pushed its Cg away from this model. If the target is a Gremlin, instead, it is moved its Cg towards this model and must end the move as close to this model as possible." This Action does not have Lure's normal wording. You cannot move around obstacles, since you must move "toward," which in Malifaux is "directly toward." Normal Lure allows you to move around obstacles by saying "Move target model its Wk" - no direction stated - and having a requirement to end as close as possible. Edit: All wrong - see below.
  11. To clarify a bit more, "toward" and "away" in Malifaux always mean "directly toward" and "directly away", center to center, unless the rule itself says differently. Gremlin "Lure" movement is a direct line, regardless of whether the target is Gremlin or not. Push just ignores Severe terrain and stops on obstuctions, while "move" does not. EDIT: As pointed out below, I am in fact wrong.
  12. "Activation" always refers to the currently activated model's activation, so yes, you can use it once on Cassandra's Activation then once on Colette's.
  13. Punctured Tank: "When this model is killed, all models in 3 gain the Burning +2 Condition." Road Kill Scholar: "If a Living or Undead model within 8 is killed by the Poison Condition, this model may summon one Canine Remains into base contact with that model before it is removed, no Corpse Markers are placed." These appear to go off at the same time, though Road Kill Scholar ideally would have been written with a "when" instead of "if", as "if" is not a timing. No matter what, for 1, Punctured Tank will go first, since the Specialist is the acting model. For 2, the First Player's effects are resolved first, so if McMourning was first, the dog would be summoned before the tanks explode. If the Specialist was first, the Tanks would blow before the dog appeared. If these timings are different, Tanks goes first, since "when" comes before "after" as defined in the 1/1/2015 FAQ.
  14. It's future-proofing in case the designers want to add rules to Leve that would use that tome at some point.
  15. Nekima charges a model in Hazardous terrain. When does the damage from the terrain occur? 1) Nekima moves and stops as soon as she touches / enters the Hazardous Terrain, taking the damage flip and Black Blooding where she stopped. She then continues her movement. 2) Nekima completes her move, then takes the damage and Black Bloods. We ruled it the first way based on the damage being taken on "entering," but we're interested if that's how everyone else does it.
  16. Eventually, Aboms will come in their own box. But you're looking at anywhere from 2-3 months to 1 year for that, at the current rate of release.
  17. I think this is just a case of PMF being wrong, which it is on occasion.
  18. Very glad to see the "when" and "after" clarifications. Those help out a ton. All in all a great document, even if my Sonnia got a little less summon-y. Thumbs up!
  19. "Terrain that is considered hazardous deals damage to models that Activate while within it, or enter it (if they are pushed, moved, or placed within the terrain)" Charging models with Ama will not trigger the requirements for entering, since those models did not move, push, or place within it. However, when they activate next time, they will take damage if the aura is still up.
  20. Yes. "Killed" does not care about the source, as long as he is killed and not sacrificed. You can shoot him with friendlies to trigger BOOM and use his own Action to trigger it as well. How's that stupid? It's only bad if your opponent is unwise enough to get within range without dealing with him first or they group up against him. Also, huge liability if Papa is near your own models, or say, Zoraida Obeys him to walk into your own group and explode.
  21. The intent is clear and the RAW is clear to me at least. While in cover, you receive cover from all non- Attacks. Pedantic Logic: "You receive Rule X from all Sources B" - controls how the model is determined to be in cover. "You receive soft / hard Rule X, which imposes Effect A from Source B" - determines how the effects of cover are taken by the model. They are both "receive cover" - one controls how you gain the status, the other controls the effect you gain. It would change it for both, since that's what the rules says.
  22. Go through the cover rules and replace all instances of "Projectile Attack / Attack" with "non- Attack". That's how it works. That's all.
  23. You posted it in your first post. It's just changing targeting conditions of Cover to "all non Attacks" instead of " attacks". You can gain cover from anything. It just so happens that normal terrain cover is against Projectile Attacks only. Why wouldn't a model-specific rule override the cover rules? I think you're over-reading this a bit. EDIT: "Model gains rule X from source A" "In soft/hard Rule X, you get Effect A from Source A" Model has rule that Source A changes to Source B. "In soft/hard Rule X, you get Effect A from Source B". Swamp is Our Home is not shoehorning the models into the existing cover rules, like your fix would do. It's overriding the cover rules for those models.
  24. I can confirm that my Arsenal Wave 2 Samael Hopkins card does not say enemy. It just says "all models" under Flaming Bullets. The errata card posted in the Downloads section is correct, but apparently something happened with the Wave 2 print.
  25. They usually mail it to you. I've never heard of them needing anyone to send the box back.
