  1. I may have mis-typed. If I'm planning on actually having other models do focused attacks then I will bring healing, but if the plan is to just use the scion are a scheme runner then you can get away without healing it as it "should" be able to avoid most damage other then taking damage from being unburied a couple times.
  2. Well I'll bring a heal method in either the librarian or a void wretch typically.
  3. I mean, I guess I must have just been looking at the wrong thing....
  4. Lenny still costing 7ss instead of 9ss
  5. My scion crew would be something like. Tara +I Pay Better +Knowledge of Eternity +Obliteration Symbiote Scion of The Void 2x Trapper Johan Karina Which leaves 14 points of play for whatever you need for schemes/strat. The more I play the more I think having Tara always go first is a bit of a trap since it limits your options (for example you can't ping models for fast unless you get something buried and burying models early can backfire against smart opponents). I actually spend more time giving out fast and slow to models with Tara. I only use bury tricks if I am going to chain activate it (when I need to reposition Johan for a charge for example). The scion is often a charge lane blocker, tying up models, or drawing cards with attacks until I can position it for scheme running. I often take a means to heal it as well if doing bodyguard, entourage, or denying murder prod.
  6. An opponent of mine believes that if his model moves out of engagement of multiple models that he only needs to flip once for his defense against all models. I was trying to explain they are independent duels, but the wording in the book is vague enough that he doesn't read it that way. So which is right and can you explain why it works that way.
  7. I'm on the other end and I love the model in the right situations. Its my number 1 Bodyguard and Entourage model which it can do so easily. Its also an auto take if Murder Prodege is in pool as I will make it my highest cost model. Its great at absorbing alpha strikes and blocking charges since you can just bury it when they attack then the rest of the crew becomes more deadly. It can be quite fun when a beater thinks he is safe "tying" up a trapper who then I Pay Better focuses and punches for 7 damage (ditto for Karina though she will have to use ap to focus). It can also hit hard if you need it to by blinking, focusing, and then punching (though I wouldn't plan on this being its main use).
  8. Against guild you can play the range vs range game and do fairly well (at least until austringers start getting into range if they live). I Typically run I Pay Better, Knowledge of Eternity on Tara with 2x Trappers. Ping both for fast then discard for I pay better focus and you get 4 focused shots into their crew turn 1 if they don't hide. If they do hide you can reposition and still have a focused shot. Honest the beast bomb while nice, is a bit of a trap until you know how to best time it. Most the time your better off just making things fast and moving up the board quickly to setup charges, and catching opponents off-guard with models charging off after being repositioned by Tara. Typically you bring at least 1 beater (some like more, I don't) that I recommend from the following list: Nothing Beast, Taylor, Dr. Grimwell, or Bishop (notice 3 of those are mercs that can use I Pay Better). The rest of the crew just fill in as needed though I like Johan as a secondary beater that is much cheaper then the others.
  9. It was highly requested and it took some time, but its finally here. So let me know what you think. http://schemesandstones.podbean.com/e/episode-22-master-spotlight-mah-tucket/
  10. They aren't plastic but I'm a fan of stitched for iron levy
  11. Under Gremlins Lenny is costing 7 stones, this should be 9 stones. Thanks for all the work you've put in so far.
  12. The best use I every got out of an executioner would be the McCabe Pinebox express. So you give a dearthmarshal nimble and reactive it then pinebox the executioner. Move up the dearthmarshal, then charge an enemy model, next to a master that relies on Df triggers ideally, and pine box the enemy which pops out the Executioner. Then charge in executioner (ideally last activation of round, which if you're running dogs you will have activation control) and go to town. Then if you have a bunch of the +2 to initiative flip upgrades, win round 2 and finish said master off, then except that the Executioner will die, but he paid for himself.
  13. Hey everyone, leave any comments on the show here. http://schemesandstones.podbean.com/e/episode-21-master-spotlight-guild-mcmourning/
  14. Big Jakes SS cost is 5 not 6 for the outcast masters.
  15. So after listening to the cast, I think I'll try dropping in some very low background music to see if it helps make the audio dropouts less noticeable.
  16. Ah, I misread Lead Lined Coat and thought it said you couldn't take it if you had armor, not that you just didn't get it if you didn't have it. Another note on Tara, If you hire her resser side you can always take Scion of the Void and if you hire him then you can hire Void Wretches and Nothing Beast.
  17. Yea, I was trying to use some noise reduction and it helped a bit, but at some point you just have to re-record.
  18. Also note that any guild models that already have armor can't take Lead Lined Coat. That means the following models should have it removed as an option: Guild Sergeant Captain Dashell
  19. CrouchingMoose here are most of the lists of models by faction with models added via upgrades. I hope it speeds up the process if you don't have this done already. https://app.box.com/s/69itpxufhn3cd8w9ahyfi1i1bpykkw7e
  20. Heh, well Mah Tucket should be coming up in the next month.
  21. This Schemes and Stones first battle report podcast and I'm curious to get some feedback. So let me know what you like and what you didn't like and post it here. http://schemesandstones.podbean.com/e/episode-20-battle-report-somer-vs-lilith/
  22. I still like Karina as she has potential to make the crew ramp up in power in more then a few ways especially if you add the Scion of The Void. The scion first off can make Karina hit like a truck (if she focuses of course) on an unsuspecting opponent. Then the scion can draw you more cards for more summoning potential with Karina. Third the scion also creates a great scheme runner with Karina by having her summon drowned in then having them bury and take half their life in damage....then the can go and drop a scheme marker and (0) action pop out a drowned which instantly dies and turns into a scheme marker (with finish the job). Also few other things to add to Tara crews, 2x Friekorps Trappers with I Pay Better on Tara if you're on a open map is just mean. Also you can replace your big beater with Dr. Grimwell with I Pay Better on Tara (he can nimble to take a free focused Ml 7 attack for 4/6/10....make sure you have the cards to do the 10 damage). He also adds some extra movement tricks to the crew which works great with the Flurry models you already want to be taking with her.
  23. Today I talk to Joel Henry about the "master" Wrath. Let us know what you think about the episode and if you have any ideas on what else you can do with the Crossroad 7. http://schemesandstones.podbean.com/e/episode-19-master-spotlight-wrath/
