  1. Right -- it just seems an unusual thing for designers to respond to their customer base as regularly and clearly as Wyrd do. I get the distinct impression that some of the big dogs in this industry don't pay ANY attention to what their customers say is broken / OP, and I'm coming from one of those games, so it makes me feel really good that Wyrd is different.
  2. It's also great to know you're watching the Karina thread instead of brushing it off as a bunch of whiners that can't figure out how to play a model properly.
  3. Is Tannen worth running in non-Lynch lists?
  4. Sorry for the Threadomancy, but I didn't want to start a new thread where there was already an old one. I picked up Graves, yesterday, at one of my local shops -- I don't need him, and I don't have Lynch to go with him, but I do have Mei Feng and I figured "hey, Ten Thunders, and show the shop there are Malifaux players..." So, how does Graves work in a non-Lynch 10T list? What role does he fill that someone else doesn't? How incredibly nasty is it to have Kang and Graves pound on some poor Resser?
  5. I've seen an M2E Mr. Graves in the wild, so I can't imagine M2E Torekage will be long -- that said, there's GenCon and all the setbacks Wyrd has suffered. Maybe Christmas 2016?
  6. I'm having a hard time understanding Sunrise... I discard my cards, name an enemy model -- the enemy model gains Reactivate where I gain nothing, and then I have to kill that enemy model or my Swordsman dies. Am I reading that right? Why the hell would I EVER use that?
  7. I mentioned these yesterday in A Wyrd Place, and figured they should be shared here, as well. http://www.foothillmodelworks.com/index.html <-- Lots of early 20th century detail parts, all O scale (On3 / On30, but 1:48). They also have rolling stock kits, but they're about as expensive as buying rolling stock outright, and if you're not into trains you're better off watching eBay for broken stuff. http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/bts/bts13015.htm?source=froogle&gclid=CjkKEQjw5qmdBRCn--70gPSo074BEiQAJCe7zR9kbdfmj61KUR2kiixPmn0ZuBOP3zYkHPFHPePQS0Hw_wcB <-- Laser cut wooden ladders. I don't know about you, but I HATE making ladders. http://www.vectorcut.com/ <-- More laser-cut details like tools, nuts and bolts, doors -- lots of scratchbuilding stuff. http://rustyrail.com/ <-- Resin casts of scrap piles and lots and lots of workshop stuff and barrels.
  8. It required (2) to open the cage, too, and every Master was in their own -- I believe McCabe was out first, then Mei, and Ramos took another couple of turns to get out. This could probably be cleaned up to be a legitimate Story Encounter.
  9. I added a list of Mercenaries (that no one asked for ) http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/Mercenary
  10. For anyone that cares: http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/Mercenary
  11. Ah, I play neither Guild or Ressers so I tend to forget about them. Aren't Student of Conflict and Malifaux Child Mercs?
  12. Thanks, Adran. I didn't know I could search for the Mercenary trait on the Android app (which still seems buggy, but that's an issue to take up on the appropraite thread) and I always forget about the Crew Creator. I'm surprised Performer is a Mercenary... I can't see a reason to take them out of theme, let alone out of faction.
  13. Does a list of Mercenary models exist somewhere? Would that be useful / interesting to anyone but me?
  14. I was part of a 3-way game where we kept our Masters locked in a cage in the center. I was playing Mei, another player was playing Ramos, and the third was playing McCabe, each with their crew box give or take a minion. Kang is a damn nightmare, and since I didn't have to think about Mei's Railwalker from the get go, I was able to run the Rail Workers in a bubble around him for the buffs he gives. Even after all the Masters were out, the Henchmen were doing more of the heavy lifting. I don't remember a whole lot about that game, except that it was fun and Joss vs. Kang tends to end in favor of whoever gets the first hit off and is a blast to play.
  15. I'll second what OSOI said -- get the Ramos box. Howard and Joss are EXCELLENT with Mei, and it really doesn't hurt to have access to more constructs. Alternately, especially if you can find it cheap, get the Kaeris box -- sure, you won't have the Firestarter (unless you play Kaeris as the Firestarter, which you absolutely can), but you'll have two Gunsmiths that give Mei some much needed range, and three Fire Gamin to pass out more burning, who are also constructs. Raspi's box is pretty damn good, too, with Mei -- three Ice Gamin and the Ice Golem give you some range (the Golem's toss, and the Gamin's ranged attack), more Rail Walker nodes, and if my memory serves they are immune to Slow and Paralyze. Finally, if you want to go into 10T, Yan Lo's box isn't directly related, but I believe that's the only place you can get Ashigaru, which... someone (no cards on me), who can also summon something using Scrap, can summon with Corpse counters. And Misaki's box gets you Torakage, which are just awesome in general.
  16. For anyone who doesn't know about it, yet, there's a Facebook group for Utah-based Malifaux players too. www.facebook.com/groups/IntermountainMalifaux/
  17. That would be awesome. If that is implemented, you should be able to share your crew list with your opponent, too, just to keep things square. Finally, a Turn / VP / SS counter would be nice, too.
  18. Playing with the app: How many Soulstones you have left to hire, and how big your pool is, should be clearer. That color font on the blood spatter doesn't really work.
  19. Riders ramp up in power -- you have to hit them hard early on, and, if the Arcanist thread is anything to go on, focus on Mechanical first. As far as Reckoning goes, part of that strat is VP denial -- take as few models as you can, especially ones that can hit hard, have Armor, Hard to Kill, Hard to Wound, or ways to heal themselves (I'm looking at Kang, here, obviously).
  20. It looks awesome -- my only suggestion, out the gate, would be to add menu options to add and remove models. The X and + may be too small on smaller screens.
  21. I'm much more inclined -- and qualified -- to fill out something based on Fluff, instead of PMF which is based on game skill and tactics. If and when this happens, I'll be all over it.
  22. I would recommend checking out Mei, based on crew box synergy alone. Mei benefits a lot from Kaeris' Fire Gamin and Gunsmiths -- the way I tend to buy things is "how can this purchase benefit what I already own?". In the mean time, swap crews with someone you play with -- let them play your Kaeris, and you play against your usual crew. You may see that they play your crew in a way you hadn't thought about, exposing both strengths and weaknesses you haven't seen or considered. Even if that show you anything new, at least you'll play a different crew and get a better feel for what you want to play. And, when you move to another crew, keep Kaeris around -- after you play a bit, you may decide to go back to her with your new-found Mali-skill. I had to do that with Raspy -- I simply didn't understand the game well enough to play her the way she was supposed to be played. Finally, get the "best" or "better" Master out of your mind. The game is incredibly well balanced -- there isn't anything in any faction that is statistically better than than any other. "Different" is the word, or "better at using Burning," but it's not like 40k where certain choices are mathmatically superior than others.
  23. So, this may have been covered alreay -- I haven't been over here since Beta 2 started -- but if the Emberling hangs out next to the Rail Golem, does the Rail Golem not lose Burning when it uses Locomotion?
  24. Wait... Mei survived BOTH Viks, the Librarian, and the Student? Wow.
