Rail Workers also have a toss-type ability, and rail walking should get you where you need to be. Just litter the centre line with scrap.

Academics and Contrast Paints
Clockwork_Fish replied to Clockwork_Fish's topic in Miniature Showcase
For reference, here’s an Infinity mini. The armour, weapons and head were all contrast, but the catsuit didn’t work out so well. The black is hard to work with and ended up looking like a base coat. So it was just painted normally. -

Academics and Contrast Paints
Clockwork_Fish replied to Clockwork_Fish's topic in Miniature Showcase
@muraki They are definitely a ‘where appropriate’ paint. For instance, I won’t use this for fire effects on Banasuva and Kandara as it does the opposite of fire. I also used it on a couple Tohaa minis for Infinity, and found it was fantastic for picking out the details on such fiddly little models. Kudra’s up next, followed by Metal Gamin. Got a plan for the little guys. -
I know everyone's probably pretty sick of hearing about these damn paints, but I wanted to try them out on my shamefully large collection of unpainted Malifaux minis. So Sandeep and friends are getting offered up. Here's the big man himself. This was contrast paints with some dry brushing and highlighting. Needs a few finishing touches, then a mat varnish to get rid of the shiny bits, but I'm overall pretty happy with how he turned out. Love the colours Agaros Dunes (used on the gada) and Blood Angels Red. Altogether, this was probably 2 and a half hours work, but I was still figuring out how this works, and mistakes were made.

I would point out that the alt-Nicodem model is named Amelia Bathory. I don't know if she's technically canon, but that's a vampire reference at least. Actually, Wyrd, if you're paying attention, how about make her her own thing instead of an alt-Nicodem? Kinda like you did with Carver? Maybe a versatile henchman for Ressers who heals up by drinking the blood of her enemies and turns their withered husks into zombies thralls? It's a really cool model and I'd love to get more use out of it! 😉

Cool! Are those GW Goblin Town kits used for the catwalks? How many did it take to for the one board?

Waldo's Weekly - The Less I Know, the Better

Agree that the pose is a bit static but otherwise love the art. I like the art mask more than the render one. But that’s an easy fix with green stuff. The art mask looks unnatural but in a good way. Sort of reminds me of Silent Hill. The pose is also an easy fix, as it’s really just the position of the arms that’s at issue. -
Arcanist Masters and their keyword models [M3E]

Okay, that actually makes sense. -
M3E open beta- What are you going to be playing?

I made a joke in the Neverborn forum a couple months ago about Barbaros joining the family and I guess I might not have been wrong? 😟 Definitely want to try out Perdita and Nellie first, but I’ve gotta try the ‘Angels’ idea now that I’ve heard it. -
I like the new Dreamer, Coppelius and the Alps. Chompy, I like...bits of him? His head and enormous crazy mouth, that I like. Looks much more nightmarish, and aesthetically links him with Insidious Madness. But it doesn't really match his arms and body. Give him more mouths! 😈

Arcanist Masters and their keyword models [M3E]

Kinda feel like the Medical Automaton should be versatile. I get that it's a robot, so obviously goes with Hoff, but in current edition it heals living models, which are few and far between in a construct crew. -
Waldo's Weekly - "I am the Key(word) Master!"

A crew led by the First Mate will be the wackiest goddamned thing ever. Gators and catfish men parachuting out of the sky, dropping pianos on people, then stealing all their valuables. How do you put that in an incident report? -

Happy to see that Last Blossom was expanded to include pretty much all the models that logically should be Last Blossom. Poor Arcanists though, lost their Raptors to Guild. And it looks like the Soulstone Miner is moonlighting for .... Ma Tucket. Yep, Malifaux’s greatest scientists and sorcerers once again outwitted by swamp folk. Surely they will soon throw off the shackles of their Guild oppressors, he said as he fed diced mage bits to his new pet bird. 😇 -
Oh my God, I’m going to have that song stuck in my head for hours. 😟
-
To play devil’s advocate, I have spoken with Infinity players who have told me that Malifaux is too complicated. The logic is that while yes, Infinity has a lot of rules, they are common to all factions. Once you get over the admittedly steep learning curve, you’re good to go, you can figure out what ever model is about. Indeed, the faction that gets the most grief from players is Tohaa on account of having unique rules that essentially break commonly shared game mechanics. Oh, mighty SymbioMate, we put our faith in thee...😇
-
From the latest preview, it sounds like the effigy will grow into the emissary as a game mechanic, and henchmen get to take it for free if they lead a crew. So you will probably see this guy more often.
-
With non-keyword models now hired at a premium, I’d like to see each master get two henchmen to pick from. Maybe bring back Perdita’s manticore buddy from 1st ed? And with Ryle laid to rest, poor Hoffman’s kind of alone right now. I bet Joss is looking for a new job!

Penguin’s trick umbrella has a sword, a gun, poison gas, is bulletproof and sometimes doubles as a helicopter. Don’t question trick umbrellas. I wonder if Kirai will be able to summon Batman? 😧

Yup. No worse than Abuela forcing one of her grandchildren to marry one of em. I’ve been using shotgun wedding on the Riotbreaker lately...probably why Santiago is always so cranky. 🤔

Love the art, and all her shenanigans sound really fun. Do hope she knows how to use that sword, too. But wasn’t she originally going to be dual faction Ressers? Also ‘new’ proprietor of the Qi and Gong. Must have missed the fluff, but what happened to the old one? Trip and fall on hedge clippers, maybe?
