Hi guys. I'm planning to join you guys on this one. Just wondering if this would be a beginner's friendly tourney? This will be my first Malifaux tournament after less than a handful of M2e games under my belt (so sort of appologizing in advance for random noobery shenanigans)! Will buy the ticket through TTN as soon as I get home tonight!

I have been considering buying a Rasputina crew - the future plastic version - and use it as either a Tara proxy or herself (for those odd days I am feeling like pew pew pew!). The "big ice golem" thing could do a decent void beast and the ice gamin coud potentially pass as the "void little thingies". For the henchwoman whatsisname - I am thinking Datsue-ba.

Just because they can maximize their profit at the expense of the fanbase, and it might make sense in a business perspective, doesn't make it right. I am considerably worried about this, as a past buyer of a considerable amount of their toys (already over the 9 complete crews mark - how did that happened?). Will I now just get stuck with unfinished sets? I am a fairly bad converter and can't face having to depend on a secondary market (often limited and predicted to be highly speculative) to get them. I hope Wyrd is thinking about the old fanbase and not thinking about making a move to being oriented towards mainly new players (the ones that will give them more profit at short term) - like the "market leader" has been doing for the past years. I don't mind buying books and re-buying cards - but there's a point where you should draw a line in the sand.

Hi, I am the mentioned flatmate and semi-convinced. Just wondering some quick things: - Is 1 rulebook per player strictly mandatory (we've been sharing Bacms' books so far, and I might have to buy a copy for myself then)? - As a Kirai player, would I have to start all games with a single seishin (only 1 per boxset)? - If we consider example 2 in the crew construction, why is Ikiryo not in the pool? Isn't she part of the boxset (even though she can't start on the table)? Will she always count as the "out-of-the-pool" extra summonable model? Feeling a bit dumb due to my lack of forum searching skills... @underdog6750 I have been playing the old hag quite offensively - as I have read somewhere she can be quite reliable in close combat (pull my finger, i think) - and obviously she just gets killed rather soon-ish. I will try to give her more of a support role in my next game, as you mentioned. That might make her shine. Otherwise I might replace her with some night terrors or something in my normal 25SS list, as follows: Kirai Lost love Datsue-ba 3 seishin Izamu +3SS

Just played a second game with my Kirai crew. It is great fun and I am starting to like it a lot. Nevertheless Ikiryo seems to be quite overpowered, considering kirai's ability to summon it where it is needed and then recycling it on the next turn - only to resummon it again. After that I was discussing with a friend how to control this and a question came up: - If Ikiryo gets rendered useless by other characters (for instance buried by a deathmaster), can it still be resummoned by kirai while still in play? What will happen if Kirai tries? Will the buried model die? Or will the new one? or is it absolutely forbidden to summon a model in play? I tried to search the books for info on this, but failed miserably. Secondly, on most games Datsue-ba seems quite underpowered and ends up squished by something before making anything useful. I still don't have a lot of experience with this crew but I still could not figure it out how to use it decently. Should she stay with kirai? should she go with the offensive spirits? I am a bit lost and considering replacing it for something cheaper SS-wise. But everybody seems quite keen on her. - Can someone explain how they use it usually? Which abilities should be prioritized? Thanks!
