  1. I use them occasionally with Colette and I really like the no charge ability and the double defensive and their statline makes them quite resilient in my experience. Or maybe resilient is the wrong word, but often more trouble than it's worth for killing, meaning they can lock down specific areas and accomplish schemes. To me the main reason to hire them is not lure, despite what you might think, but their defensive upgrades. It can really slow your opponent down or demand resources far in excess of what they want to spend on a 5ss model to get them out of the way. And the +1 wp can be very important against some crews. And their attacks, while not amazing, are not bad either. One thing about their defensive stance boost though. I generally only do it once I'm in position. If you can only walk once a turn they are too slow to get there, but walking twice in turn one means you can influence anything on your half of the board and a bit into the enemy half on turn two. For a model that can be really annoying to try and get rid of that can be very useful for any strategy that isn't reckoning.
  2. Colette is variable, I've had games where I've only had a couple on the boars at any given time and games where I've had about 15 on the table... In general though if you got 10 you will have plenty for almost all your games.
  3. In theory someone could do it, and it should be addressed, but I can't see anyone actually doing it in a game. At a least not someone who wants to still be welcome in the community.
  4. I wonder if there is any milage in using one or two with Colette as cheapish hitters. It should be a lot easier to get to use Temporary Limb with her as you can probably generate scheme markers where you need them.
  5. At 6 point you can afford to use her as a melee model as well, because it's basically the cost of a random minion. And she doesn't hit too badly for a random minion when she get to Ml 7 (and that's fairly easy to do) and then she can push people way out of position if need be.
  6. Angelica? Yes, she moves models, both friendly and enemy (with her trigger on her cane). But don't discount her range attack, especially if you got a mask for the paralyze trigger. And she is a cheap model to put an upgrade on, I like using her for Practiced Production. It allows some good flexibility.
  7. Sure, she is a position piece first and foremost. She have a (1) action, Give them an Encore! that can push your own models around. Being able to get 5" of extra movement can be amazing in the right situation. Secondly, her trigger on her hooked cane allowed you to push anyone around, giving you the potential to push enemy models quite long distances. And let's not forget she have a paralyze trigger on her shooting attack. For 6ss Thats a lot of utility. And while she doesn't have many wounds, Disguised means she can't be charge so is that little bit extra annoying to deal with.
  8. Ive not playeds Raspy in this editiinbyet, but you !might want to consider getting a few more soulstones in your cashe. I understand she can still be rather soulstone hungry in terms of getting her triggers of and that getting them can be crucial for that one big turn. At 40 I probably wouldn't bring two models that are 10+. It just makes your crew too small. That's half tour points in 2 models, its a little too much for me at least.
  9. The best way to get Breath Fire to work is to focus. The way I usually use Cassandra when I have her in position is to use her Nimble to shuffle forward, the focus and then Breath Fire, and then use the trigger to get back into cover. Gives you quite a long range with decent odds of getting some last templates and some positional flexibility. As for Upgrades on Colette, I use quite a different set than EntrepeNinja does. Since I don't use Doves I don't find any value in Cabaret Choreography. All Together Now is a marginal ability at best, and the summoning Doves never worked well for me, and I'm not particularly enamored with the Doves anyway. So that's an upgrade I just never use. Similarly with A Lady's Secret, it's not suitable to my playstyle. I don't even use Disappearing Act every game, and while getting an extra Sabre Trick attack would be nice it is not worth 2SS and an upgrade slot to me. Nothing Up My Sleeve is an upgrade I frequently take, but seldom use. Usually I just got better things to do with her AP, so it gets used once, maybe twice a game. Still, for 1ss the flexibility it offers is pretty good. Shell Game. The (0) is useless to me as I don't use the models it affects (I don't think it's very good even if you do), but the trigger is pretty good, and at 1SS it's almost always worth considering. Often times I'll Artificial Soulstone into it. Practiced Production is an upgrade I really like, and I've use it on Colette in the past. I now favour putting it on Angelica, but it's still worth considering. Other options are Arcane Reservoir and Imbued Energies. Usually I got Reservoir, because the extra card can be very useful. And with the Avatar out, that one looks worth thinking about as well, as well as Seize the Day. My setup for the last couple of games have been Shell Game, Arcane Reservoir and Nothing Up My Sleeve on Colette, Practiced Production, and then possibly Imbued Energies on either Cassandra or Howard. I'll consider taking Smoke and Mirrors if I got schemes that reward me for putting scheme markers forward where Cassandra might be able to drop them.
  10. No, you got that wrong. Breakthough just need scheme markers within 6" of the deployment zone. The only way to gain extra VPs are if you declare it.
  11. Indirect damage is the bane of a Pandora crew, as well as Ca actions as it can get around the high defence and incorporeal that's their main defences. Also, for us on taking oiut aomew of her support minions early. Especially the Poltergeist, if she is bringing that it have to die quick. Then focus on schemes and strategies, preferably something that will force her to spread out as the crew is based on overlapping auras. Alternatively, take the new Dampening Field upgrade from this weeks beta and be immune to auras and in effect Pandora/most of her crew.
  12. Kade and Teddy is who I tend to use. I don't even think it's terribly expensive as it does give you two models that can potentially put out a lot of damage, and together they actually got a fair amount of maneuvering tricks as well. And they have the ability to really put your opponent under pressure. Been working well for me so far. I tried the Young in the beta and actually quite like them, but I still don't own the models (nor Tots or Matures), but they will be making an appearance once I eventually get the models. Nekima looks very promising, but I will not be buying that model before she arrives in plastic. Once she does though, that looks like a lot of fun.
  13. One of the local players is primarily a Tara player and Ive never been even close to having a bad game against her. I think the bury is actually a little bit of a trap, at least locally she started performing better with less of a focus on bury and more on her other support abilities. I'd also add that while Pandora was pretty mean in 1.5 I don't think she is worse than a whole range of other masters in this edition so I wouldn't worry about picking her up. And I k ow there are a couple of good threads in the Neverborn section about how to beat her(short version, kill her minions).
  14. I like the look of pretty painted crews, and I like the idea of creating them. As for actually painting, I tens to be much less enthusiastic about that. I will however play games (any game really) as often as I can, so definitely gamer for me.
  15. No crew is being dropped. There are only a selection of masters in wave one, but all remaining models just got official finished rules yesterday (go to the download section). Initially as PDF files, but they will get cards you can buy when the artwork is done.
  16. The way I see Colette these days ia that she is all about orchestrating and directing the rest of her crew rather than being the soul eating death machine of 1.5. So Prompt are completely central to what I use her for. Its a rare activation where she doesn't do it at least once. Aside from that I would say don't get too hung up on scheme markers. The crew likes them a lot, but you don't 'need' that many. Although they do increase the crews flexibility. And I agree, playing pure showgirl is a needless limitation. My two favourite inclusions are Howard and an Acolyte, both plays a to the crews strengths, while helping with some of the weaknesses. But Colette is so flexible and offers a wide variety of playstyles that you really need to experiment and make her your own. For instance, I don't use Doves or Mannequins and hardly ever cast Disappearing Act, yet it was clear from the beta that those are central to some other players. She isn't who says was in 1.5, but she is a lot more flexible and varied and offer so many possibilities that are just begging to be tested.
  17. Joss is not a bad addition to Colette either. He packs a good punch, something the showgirls don't really do (Howard Langston is also a good addition). However he is a bit slow, but the Showgirls are good at changing that. Totems are less complicated than they used to be. The only real different is that most of them can only be hired by a single master(it will say so on their card). Aside from that they are pretty much normal models. And yes, the Watcher can be hired with Sonnia. In general, any model in a faction can be used by every master in that faction. And I know exactly what your doing, Malifaux is my wife's first miniature game and Ive been the one buying models a for us too. It sounds like you are getting a good basis for both of you to try out different stuff in the game.
  18. I would say that Angelica is a more important addition to the crew than the Doves are. I don't think I've played a beta game with Colette where I didn't have Angelica on the board, where as the Doves only rarely appears. It's partly a playstyle thing, but Colette's totem just isn't nearly as central to her gameplay as it used to be and you could be perfectly fine not having access to them at all. But all Arcanist masters (IMO) would want to at least have the option of including Angelica. So that would be my next recommended purchase for the Showgirls. Aside from that, Colette also greatly benefits from some of the other Arcanist/Merc models. Johan, the Friekorps Specialist and Librarian could be good addition from the Merc side of things and Howard Langston, Mechanical Rider, December Acolyte, Gunsmith, Molemen and Union Miners are all interest Arcanist options (along with many others).
  19. The art is fine, although it haven't made me anymore interested in using her. But if she was a brawler minion I could stick in my other crews I'd be perfectly fine with that as a model.
  20. It's still an interact action so the 4" rule should still apply. They use of anywhere in the sentence is, to me, a little to broad to claim it can cancel that rule. In fact, I'd probably just remove the anywhere, it doesn't really serve a function. Or if its intendeds to ignore then 4" rule (and Shell Game was changed partly to not let you do that I think) then it should be clear from the text.
  21. Yeah, The Box Opens and Fears Given Form is a resource drain first and foremost. In most games they probably won't 'do' very much, but your opponent will have to waste a lot of cards on not making them do anything. And that's easily worth the price of admission. Oh, and lastly remember that everyone is disposable. I often get Pandora killed, but if she have done her job it doesn't matter. So don't be afraid to throw her out there to be a big fat distraction and wreck your opponents crew/plan. That's what she does best and hopefully she can command enough attention that your objective runners can do their thing. Edit: I've not tried the Weaver, or even really looked at the rules, so I have no idea what she does. It's a summoner/debuff model isn't it?
  22. It's only the wave two cards that will be up for download. Models released during wave 1 (so already released in the rulebook) will not get a downloadable option (I believe).
  23. So many spiders to paint!

  24. Depends on how strictly you take it. I see GG more as a good basis to start with, there are several things I'd change were I running an event, saying people have to cut is one of them. After the discussion on it I get why, but personally I'm just not bothered. Its just another step in the pre-turn faf. I'm going to try and remember to offer at tournaments and might try and make it something we do locally as well but I'll probably decline cutting my opponents deck.
  25. Can the Performer reactivate Ramos by dying? Can't remember her wording.
