  1. I can only assume you mean a blast that comes from an attack targeting a rail worker. And you are saying that the blast damage is reduced when it strikes a separate model?
  2. If an ability or condition ignores armor. The rail workers metal on metal would be unaffected. So if anything it adds it an additional layer of defense. Compare this to grind to a halt. Which just increases the armor of the defending model. But outside of just reducing damage I don't see any significant things this is supposed to do. Since it works like any other reduction.
  3. Well if you can't complete a charge action you can not take it. Should we base this on that. We can't complete the action since you can't put back cards? Even though one has to do with premeasuring and the other has nothing to with with measuring? Does temporal shift have anything to do with putting back cards? Or are you trying to say putting back the cards is an effect not the cost. Which then if I don't have 3 cards why can't I keep the 2 I drew? It doesn't say to put back 3 cards or your whole hand. And since I can't put back 3 I keep 2? Can I even take the action? If I can't put back 3. (Which only means you need one or more cards to do the action, not terribly game breaking) Or do I draw 2 and put back 2 even though the ability nor any rule says to put back 2 cards. So to be honest you have convinced me to say the action can't be taken unless you can put back 3 cards. But I would not even care to mention it if my opponent used the action to look at the top two cards of his deck and rearranged them.
  4. But that is a trap thinking. We have been told many times not to use a faq for a different question. Not arguing either way just pointing out simple fact.
  5. So the real question would be. Does the player need 1 or more cards to take this action. As rgarbonzo said it's Not definitive either way. On one hand can if you have no cards and can only put back 2 cards since you only drew 2 can you take the action. And the other is I put back as many cards as I had which is 2. Most people I think would lean towards option one that they need at least one card. But no wording says you can't take the action if you don't have any cards in hand. So play it as you want.
  6. I suggest letting your player use all the Gremlin cunning he wants. But if he has 3 or more cards he better be placing 3 back lol. If for some reason they think they can draw two cards and not put them back since they don't have three. Question their thought process. Then delicately rearrange those thoughts with words. Preferably in a hard back book.
  7. Illuminated are terrifying living lol. Toshiro is quite (un)dead lol.
  8. Notice all the defensive triggers say after suffering damage Which then do something. Dissolution is one of many. No defensive trigger could say "after damaging from a ml attack do xyz" since you are on the df you can't use your melee or ca or Sh. So it has to say after suffering damage. Which then we have an attackers trigger of after damaging. After Damaging does have the same time as After suffering damage. But in triggers case. Defensive triggers go first. But when abilities have the same timing as triggers. Then the triggers happen first. So malevolence is an ability that happens after I damage you. So my after damaging trigger would happen first. If I don't damage you (ie black joker) then neither my after damaging trigger nor your after suffer damage ability would go off. Malvoence is not a "when damaged" ability (ie black blood) which happens during step 5.
  9. Or can parse words And read. Or lying. I like lying also. Makes me seem I like I can a weave an intricate web of them with the rules. Also Justin did explain this. But just his opinion. (According to the rules ruleds ....sadly. )
  10. Please quote that page if you would. Cause I Wil point you to Page 32. After Damaging triggers happen after step 5. Step 5 is when damage happens. If you do some digging there was a thread about timing. I think it was s Colette battle report. When damaging happens during step 5 ie black blood critical strike. To name an ability and a trigger. For after damaging I could name a lot. And on a defensive side I can show you squeal , Colette's now you see me trigger and a myriad of others. Malevolence is an after suffering damage ability. Which is after step 5. This is all in the opposed duel. You are prolly looking at page 30 the 3 step process that just exists.
  11. Meh it's a push in any direction. So if unless Kirai is surround by walls I would not be two concerned. But call out box. Malevolence is an ability that happens. After a friendly Living or Undead model within a6 suffers damage. So it's after suffering damage. So an after damaging trigger would happen first. Page 46.. Whenever any Ability happens at the same time as any Triggers, the Triggers are resolved first. So push first then place Ikiryo.
  12. My question is if she does summon Ikiryo what does it matter. You push though incorporeal models. And 4 " is plenty room to go though her.
  13. In that context yes but in this context "I reduce my chi value by 2 and select two models that one over there and that one over there" *pointing finger at the same model* look it's the same model. Nothing is restricting choosing the same model more than once. I selected 2 models one for each chi. If it had the word "different" this would not even have come up at all. So for it not to have that very very specific word. One can only postulate that you can choose the same model more than once.
  14. I agree Solkan. But on the premise that it was a basic charge with 2 attacks. If we brought triggers and movement shenanigans they can do then it's a whole other ball game.
  15. Their only attack. If a model ends a move, push or place in the traps engagement they get to make an attack after resolving the action. So after resolving a walk action gets to attack. After a wind blast pushes a model into range gets to strike. On the (2) Charge: Target a model within LoS. Move this model up to its Cg in a straight line. This model must end the move with the target model within its engagement range or this Action may not be taken. This model then takes two Range Attack Actions against the target model. Each of these Actions must have an AP cost of 1. A model may not declare this Action if it is engaged (see Engagement, pg. 44) or if it has a Cg of "—". I would say the charge action is not resolved till the attacks are resolved following the Actions causing actions call out box on page 38 reading: Some Actions will force or allow a model to take another Action. If an Action calls for another Action to be taken (such as Charge or "Make A New Entry") then the additional Action or Actions do not cost any AP. The original Action is not considered resolved until the new Actions are also resolved. The last line is the important part. The charge has to be fully resolved before the trap gets to attack.
  16. See bayou Bushwackers for reference.
  17. lady j loves doing min 6 damage. Enemy models dont share this love when she uses her greatsword to great effect on them
  18. you can stay on your half of the board..... you dont even need to cross it for protect territory. it just needs to be 6inchs away from any part of your deployment zone. for breakthrough you need to be with in 6" of your opponents deployment zone.
  19. as previously said since its not targeting anything justice does not take a terror check on the second question Weird. So I read something wrong but now that is clarified. If the wall is ht2 and a pulse is ht2. Why would it effect the ht 3 model behind the ht2 wall. Would it not just stop at the wall since it is not tall enough to go over it.
  20. Under buried in the rule book Its has some verbiage saying abilities that go off on death while buried do not work. It then gives an example of a death marshals and finish the job. The only way to kill levy is to kill him while buried. Void wretches can do it. But to stop levy from coming back just kill his waifs. Or the 6ss model guarding the waif.
  21. No the card flipped is a 10ram. Not a 10mask. The stone spent is added to the duel total but is not the card that is flipped.
  22. Does not say friendly model nor does it Need to only target Sonnia. If for instance a belle tried luring Seamus out but he was in 3 of Sonnia the belle would lose its suits. Also this moderation makes my posts come up late. I agree with Hannah ness
