  1. Yeah I wouldn't listen to Mason either. He says... things... Terrible things. Horrifying things. Things that will drive you mad!
  2. Oh, hey, I was wondering if the cosplay pictures ever made it online.
  3. I am also in Salem (and technically one of the three Canaria0 mentioned).
  4. Hrmmm, I'll start working on Nekima's entry later tonight after my game, I think.
  5. Sometimes (okay, usually) conversations with my friends lead to some really interesting and... strange places. Case in point, talking about the romance between Lady J and the Judge lead to swimsuits (I'm not entirely sure how anymore) which in turn germinated and became... Beach Party at theThreshold of Malifaux Part 1: The Lifeguards None of the three men beneath the lifeguards'umbrella seemed bothered by the sunlight reflected from sea and sandand the brass of artificial limbs. Nicodem and Ramos handled theglare with dark-lensed glasses and goggles, respectively. Lucius, onthe other hand, had his infamous mask, yes, but the light itselfseemed to pull away from the bureaucrat’s glare. "It's the last days of summer, the heat shouldnot be this oppressive," Ramos said in a tone more suited toscholarly debate than complaint. It was still enough to draw a glancefrom Nicodem to the Inventor's outfit. "Perhaps," Nicodem began with a gesture ofhis cane toward the swim trunks and longcoat the Arcanist wore, "ifyou had not worn a longcoatto thebeach." "I will have you know that this is anall-terrain victim recovery and resuscitation apparatus,"countered the Arcanist with a glare left largely unseen due to hisgoggles. His attention shifted away from the Ressurectionist to theGovernor's Secretary who surely had to have been as overheated as hewas. Sandals and burgundy swim trunks were not a terrible choice fora day at the beach. What Ramos couldn't fathom is why the man wouldwear knee-socks, a heavy velvet coat, powdered wig and a goldenmask... Or why Lucius felt the need to place a thick line ofsunscreen upon the nose of said mask. None the less, Lucius looked tobe the vision of serenity and comfort. "One would still be forgiven for thinking theGuild had staked a claim over the sun as well," Ramos noted,even managing to make it sound like a good-natured jab. "If we had, then surely the rest of you wouldbe charged for its use and we would have instituted a tax on thework-tanned, yes?" Lucius surprised both of his companions withthe almost friendly retort. While Ramos began imagining a sun-and-steam poweredarachnid ten storeys tall, and Lucius considered how the Guild couldtax tanned skin and imprison the sunburnt for "overuse",Nicodem was left to his own dark thoughts. Unlike his companions, theundertaker had chosen more appropriate, though no less unusual, beachattire; skull-embroidered black swim trunks and a matching sleevelessshirt. It was a comfortable outfit capped off with the man's top hat.The dominance of black left the mortician's already pale skin appearpositively ghostly. Nicodem's gaze lingered thoughtfully on the oceanbefore him. The initial decision to have him as one of the lifeguardswas an entertaining surprise. As he thought about it, however, itbecame clear to him that he really was the best choice. Who betterfrom his ragtag excuse for a 'faction' than he? The madwhore-murderer or his pet? The equally mad 'doctor'? The weepinggirl? No. Only Nicodem could be trusted with such a task... It was just too bad that even he could not violatethe ancient magics and contracts that kept the beach celebration aneutral, relatively bloodless event. The host of drowned bodies hehad brought couldn't lie in wait until the rest of the partiers weredrunk and sluggish with food. He couldn't launch his horde and wipeout his rivals in one fell swoop. Instead, the Drowned would remainbeneath the waves only to show themselves if they had to do theunthinkable – save a life. It was probably for the best, Nicodem reasoned.After all, if given the chance Ramos would likely do the same. TheInventor wouldn't use the undead, of course. Instead he would use aswarm of those troublesome arachnids of his. He had even created anew type for the event; amphibious, strong enough to drag a large manto shore and able to apply an electrical shock to the victim in orderto bring him back to life... and not the pure, obedient unlife ofNicodem's zombies, either. When asked, Ramos naturally denied thatsuch a shock could be applied to a living target. Then there was Lucius, ever the enigma. Thesecretary brought no legion of Guild lackeys to do his bidding, not asingle one. Even by himself, the man had an air of confidence abouthim that both intrigued and infuriated Nicodem. "How do you plan to handle your duties shouldthe need arise, Lucius?" Nicodem questioned. "I have a man on it," theGovernor-General's Secretary answered simply. His gaze remained awayfrom his companions, and his voice betrayed distraction. Nicodembegan to press his curiosity when Lucius spoke up again. "Ohgood, the others are arriving." The other two men turned to follow Lucius' gaze. Nomatter how old, monstrous or necrotically oriented one was, themovers and shakers of Malifaux in their swimwear were a sight to seeindeed.
  6. Same here. Hopefully I'll be able to even start a proper story this time around. ^^;;
  7. and here I thought becoming a Henchman involved a mandatory sex change and bikini modeling with the Wyrdmobile. On an unrelated note, I might see about signing up as a Henchman after I move.
  8. Thanks for the warning. I accidentally trimmed off something similar for one of Karina's arms, ooops!
  9. Here we go. Wish I had a better one (or at least earlier in the day when my hair was still up and I hadn't lost so much facepaint). This one was taken after touching it up a bit just for the shot and then jumping in the shower. Hopefully Wyrd will put up pictures they took, since I missed out on taking pictures of my friends' costumes as well.
  10. I should have a couple up tonight or tomorrow at some point.
  11. Happiest Surprises? Hrmmm * Definitely coming in second in the Wyrd costume contest, I was -not- expecting that at all. It still feels kind of surreal. * Getting to meet a bunch of friends from online and people from forums. * Getting second tier in the Achievement League. * Demoing Winter Tales at FFG, followed by crushing disappointment when I was told it wasn't available to buy yet. * Being able to help out a bit doing Malifaux demos in the minis hall. * That my legs and feet didn't stage a mutiny on me from all of the walking over the weekend.
