  1. If you have Hans, you can remove the upgrade from Juju, and then kill it...
  2. Welcome to Malifaux gaming nights at Dragon's Lair, Stockholm, Sweden. We will be playing on Mondays at 17.30 from 24 Aug until Christmas. Every four week period we will be playing three Mondays of regular pickup games, and then a mini tournament of some kind on the fourth Monday. One small price will be handed out at the end of each four week period, where participation during the period, and placement in the tournament will give a higher chance of winning. 16 Nov - 7 Dec 14 Dec - we'll see... Demos will be provided for new players, and there are several crews you can borrow if needed.

  4. Just adding some rules references to Adrans post here: Small rulebook, page 90, Soulstone Pool. "Each Crew will have a Soulstone Pool from which it can access Soulstones for use during the game. The Crew’s Leader will have a Soulstone Cache value; this is the number of Soulstones that are in the Soulstone Pool at the beginning of the game. Only the Leader’s Cache influences the Pool. The Cache of non-Leader models is ignored. The Crew may increase the Soulstone Pool, at a cost of one Soulstone per point of increase, to a maximum Soulstone Pool of seven. " From the FAQ: 29) Q: Can a Crew hire more than one Henchman? A: Yes. A Crew may hire as many Henchmen as it likes. Keep in mind that all Henchmen (as of this date) have the Rare 1 Characteristic, so a Crew may never have two of the same Henchman, however a Crew may have multiple, different Henchmen.

  7. Alos, just for clarification, it's not when a friendly model dies. It's any living or undead model.
  8. Hello everyone. I'm arranging a team story event in Stockholm, Sweden, at Dragon's Lair. Date: 26 Sept 2015 Location: Dragon's Lair, Kungsholmsorg 8, Stockholm. Information and registration: http://goo.gl/forms/iQX9W9dxXP I also recommend checking out the facebook event if you are looking for a teammate or want to ask questions (You will need to be a member of Malifaux Sverige )
  9. Sorry for confusing the issue with a mostly unrelated FAQ entry. As stated in the rules (Small rulebook, page 60, first §), a sacrificed model does not count as being killed. So in this case Izamu is never killed. And not triggering Viktorias healing. Had the ability not stated that Izamu would be sacrificed, the timing would be the same for the abilities, and Viktoria as the acting model would heal first.
  10. So I probably should back my statements with rules references, and I found this in the FAQ: Q: If a model with the Burning Condition and the Explosive Demise Ability is killed within range of Sonnia’s Violation of Magic and she chooses to summon a Witching Stalker, is the Witchling Stalker summoned before or after the Explosive Demise Ability occurs? A: Violation of Magic occurs “when the target is reduced to 0 Wounds.” When a model is reduced to 0 Wounds it is “immediately killed” (Core Rulebook pg. 51) so Violation of Magic and Explosive Demise have the same timing point. In this instance, see the General Timing rules on pg. 46 of the Core Rulebook: So usually 'reduce to 0 wounds' and 'killed' happens at the same time. The effect in this scenario should be the same though.
  11. Reduced to 0 wounds happens first, and unless some ability (like Izamu's A Warriors Death, or Bete Noir's Death Rattles) explicitly states that something else happens, death happens straight after. So in your case Izamu strikes back, and is Sacrificed (but not killed), so Vik does not heal. Also note that abilities that kill instantly (like Executioner's Bloody Exhibition) do not reduce models to 0 wounds.
  12. And this would apply for (0) actions as well then, I assume. Failing the test when using a (0) action will not use any of your AP, but you won't be able to use any more (0) actions.
  13. That seems to be correct, yes. The summoned model does not trigger black blood. (And it's a WP duel, not a Horror duel)
  14. Cool! That's how we played it, but I felt a bit uncertain...
  15. McTavish has a tactical action: (0) Gator Snack: Discard a Corpse, Scrap or Scheme Marker within 3" to push this model into base contact with the Marker before discarding it and then flip a card which may be cheated. Apply one of the following depending on the suit: ... Now assume I can see a corpse marker within 3", but someone placed a Young Nephelim in McTavish's path. What happens when I use the action? A: Nothing. B: The Marker is discarded, McT pushes as far as he can, and then stops. No flip is made. C: The Marker is discarded, McT pushes as far as he can, and then stops. The flip is made, and the effect applied. D: Something else. We played it as C, as it does not say McT needs to be in b2b to flip the card. But I'm afraid B might be correct...
  16. Said master/henchman would also be unable to use soulstones, and reduced to 2AP per activation (for masters). As per page 65 of the small book: A model never has more than one Station characteristic, as it defines several abilities available to the model. These are: ... Whether or not it can use Soulstones. How many General AP it generates when it Activates. ... I at least interprets this as: gaining Peon means you lose Master.
  17. I'd say it's a definite no on creating or moving mannequins this way. Otherwise actions like 'Found a bone' on Canine Remains, or triggers like Mortimer's 'Dismember' could place Mindless Zombies instead of Corpse Markers. That would just be insane good!
  18. That's a tricky one. I would probably rule it as 'if an opponent has fewer...'.
  19. I've been playing it as B, pretty much like Enternalvoid...
  20. From page 90, small rulebook. The first step in hiring a Crew is usually to choose a Leader, because some Masters or Henchmen will alter the availability or cost of other models hired. Any Master or Henchman from the Faction that the player declared earlier in the Encounter building process is fair game to be chosen as the Crew’s Leader. In addition, in a Shoot-Out a player must choose a Henchman to lead her Crew instead of a Master. A Crew’s Leader never costs Soulstones to hire, even when it is a Henchman. The other models hired by a crew must belong to the announced Faction, be specifically allowed by an Ability, or be Mercenary models (which will sell their services to any Crew). Pretty clear that the leader has to belong to the chosen faction. Other models may be mercenaries...
  21. Henchman hardcore tournament. Apply on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1418005211836566/
  22. Like Fetid Strumpet says, there's nothing in the rulebook that suggests that you would get extra movement, and nothing that says you can't climb part ways up. We usually use stacks of dice or tokens to elevate our climbing models.
  23. We've always played that movement is doubled as long as any part is within the terrain. It's simpler because it leaves no room for edge-cases. And it makes sense to be affected by the terrain while within the terrain.
  24. Game nights are still happening monthly! Feel free to drop by. We are usually 4-6 people...
