  1. I more meant, getting ahold of cards for them, for said use as proxies.
  2. Wait, what ever happened to being able to use the old avatars as proxies?
  3. Nope, the decks only cover the first two.
  4. Then she'd be hugely underpriced. She's fine as-is, even if it would be nicer to have her upgrade on the card. If you're not typically getting mileage out of her, you're not doing it right. I expect to get 12-18SS of summons out of her most games, on top of a decent pistol, which I do short of my opponent thoroughly prioritizing her early or some really anomalous luck.
  5. So, I just started looking into TTB after skimming the rulebook when I first got it from the kickstarter (yeah, I know, late, but RPGs take more energy to get going)- I thought there was a penny dreadful download that was supposed to come with the KS backing package... anyone care to point me on the right direction? Am I misremembering?
  6. ...Except it's on a fragile model that has a fantastically better upgrade that's mutually exclusive with it and cheaper. I think if you were in the situation to use it and did try it out and the match up was perfect, you'd just be painting a giant bullseye on a fragile 6ss model.
  7. He got me way better at managing my hand and soulstones, and I like him enough/am good enough with him that I'll play him a decent amount, but I doubt I'd ever step near a tournament with him. My feeling is that big and/or flexible minions are the way to run him best, since they have a better return on those expensive cards you're throwing around for good action generation.
  8. So, not exactly a new game, but still, for those interested in thoughts after quite a bit of play, a review of one of the first co-op games I liked.
  9. It doesn't work. It's like horror duels. They'll pass some, drain hand on some, let the ones that don't matter go through. Unlike horror duels, once one goes through, they're de facto invulnerable the rest of the turn.
  10. I don't particularly care about that summoning trick, but do think that his various debilitating tricks are very nice in the right situations. He's definitely a model I consider in most lists that can take him.
  11. Updated again. Also, I'm now looking for the plastic puppet wars promo character sprue that came out some time before Unstitched (or maybe a few other puppets if you're interested in splitting up a plastic set)
  12. Kang. Base size is written on the bottom corner of the back of the card.
  13. AFAIK, from how the open beta etc. was talked about, there was never an intention to make a master worse, it just happens because things aren't perfectly balanced. IMHO it's pretty clear that wyrd tries to patch masters that aren't working like they're supposed to, like tara's numerous weird patches; mei feng having quite a few new pieces; guild getting better minions for lucius to take advantage of, neverborn getting a mimic minion (also pretty clearly useful for him), etc. A lot more masters on the low end of the curve have seen a substantial influx of models than on the high end. There are also the emissaries, which tend to give a more substantial boost to weak masters while changing styles on stronger ones.
  14. Broken in the sense that the game ceases to function around him? In the sense that he's too strong so influences the meta? Probably not. What about being basically universally considered at an extreme/end of a curve by everyone who's spent any time playing him? (positive or negative) Because, I'd argue that weak models, while they don't affect the meta in the same way as strong ones, do still negatively impact the meta. I also don't understand the argument that printing and disseminating a card that is needed to (effectively) play a piece the way it's supposed to be played and takes up limited game space (upgrade slots and how those interact with certain rules) is somehow radically more practical than printing and disseminating a card that is needed to play a piece the way it's supposed to be played.
  15. Yeah, wish they'd errata things other than just OP or errors since underpowered is just a different kind of skewing. Have any of the patches taken the form of master upgrades (i.e. for their 3 slots) yet?
  16. First, the premise. Agreed on resources. Not particularly on Minions- yes, you do better with them, but Lucius can really get in the way and is a decent fighter if he needs to be. I agree that his box is poor, but there are several others in a similar place. I like his theme well enough. I 100% agree that others do what he does better... so much of what he has to offer is simply his cross-faction capabilities, since that's what he can do that others can't. Solutions I disagree about the totems. The Scion of the Void had similar patching initially, and anything like that has unintended consequences. I think that some form of just plain old direct errata/upgrade patching would be more effective. Give his totem some great ability on a free upgrade or give him an autoinclude upgrade. It's not what I'd prefer, but it's better IMHO than making a new piece that needs to interact with a vast number of things across a faction. Also, more models and you run into problems like Tara's ever-expanding list of pseudo-patches or Lucius's own emissary that's hard to justify since it's not a minion. I think that something that interacts with hand, minion health/damage, or horror duels would be obvious directions that would make him more efficient. I like the shifting role option is a nice one. In practice, I find him an interesting puzzle, of trying to find ways of making minions more effective while balancing it with enough strong models and enough minions to actually take advantage of said effectiveness.
  17. Frankly, it was pretty disappointing. It took me about 10 minutes looking at it to figure out how to play, and how to exploit it. Then I tried (and confirmed) it because I was bored. The Nothing Beast (of all things) had the right abilities and stats to tank it out from all four while the rest of my crew did what needed doing. The AI was neither smart nor highly-statted enough to be a challenge.
  18. Checked around and they do... well, now time to decide what landscape I want...
  19. Thanks all, for the info. On DIY, yeah, I'd have done that but I seem to reach a point in every terrain project where the excitement about a board has worn off and then it ends up in a pile while I paint more minis. EE's does look very nice, but the customization on Mats by Mars sounds really solid. Do they allow you to send in your own print res files?
  20. So, I've seen a few shots of tables with deployment zones and whatnot printed on them, and considering setup always takes a while, I was interested in them. From people have used them, what are your opinions? Are they that useful, worth it, etc.? If there are more than one company that makes them, is there a better one? Thanks!
  21. Hi, took ages to get back, sorry 'bout that-- Thanks! On Tara, I thought her hand looked cartoony since it was so large, so she's holding her wide-brimmed hat in a much less monstrous hand. Not completely satisfied with it, but I still think it's an improvement over the giant hand... that doesn't have any rules and that she's somehow s'posed to hold a weapon with, unless she's continually swapping weapons in one hand. I was organizing/cleaning, so, with a little shopping to clean up my not-great photo of an action shot (read: some random crews I put glaring at each other).
