  1. No, totems can only cast (1) spells, and Now You See It is a (0)
  2. Oh, I like that. Lots of offensive usage of the Burying mechanic?
  3. There's a really good trick that people often miss with the Performers: Siren Call your enemy, making them walk towards the Performer. You want them to walk into melee range of the Performer - doing this makes them paralyzed. One they're paralyzed, the Performer has a rather nasty (1) Action called Poison Gift, which poisons a paralyzed model within 2" and gives it Poison 4. Anyone who has been on the receiving end of this knows that Poison 4 is nothing to laugh at. The trick of this is managing to get the Siren Call off. You're playing Showgirls, so positioning yourself where you need to be isn't that hard - the trick is in the casting cost. It has a casting cost of 12 (your Performer has 5) and requires :masks. This means that you will need to flip or cheat a 7+ :masks. You can make this easier on yourself however, by use of a Mannequin. Mannequins have a (1) spell called Tricks of the Trade, which needs a 9+ suitless to cast. You discard a soulstone (once again, you're playing with Colette, this isn't such a huge deal) or sacrifice the Mannequin and then give +:masks to a Showgirl within 3" of the Mannequin. Now, you might be thinking to yourself: "Man, this is a really expensive combo. If I don't have a 7+ :masks, then I need to spend a 7+, a 9+, and a soulstone or a Mannequin. And the enemy can still resist it with wp, so I'll want to use a really high card to make sure they fail the resist! This just is not worth what I put into it." And that's where you're wrong. Because with this combo, that enemy model is going to take 7 wds before it gets to spend a single action. On the next activation after it gets paralyzed and poisoned, it takes 4 wd and (due to paralysis) ends its activation right there. Next activation, it takes 3 wd before it can act. This is often enough to kill whatever model you did this to. If not, they still take 2 more damage the next activation, and then one after that. Basically, getting this combo off on someone is a death sentence for that model. Poison 4 + Paralyzed is not to be trifled with.
  4. Having the same problem getting Lady J's box. It's out of stock everywhere I look. Do we have any idea how long this might take to fix itself?
  5. GamerGaeth Colette Also, since I'll be getting her box in (hopefully) tomorrow; GamerGaeth Lady J
  6. So, a kind of "TA-DAAAAAAA" pose?
  7. The episode was great. Glad to see you guys trying to get into a more regular schedule - I like being able to look forward to your podcast.
  8. Gave it a little more thought. Perhaps he could have a scheme to end the game with at least five 12+ cards in the control hand - aligning fate to fit with his timeline or something.
  9. If you're going to play Collodi, you want to remember that possibly your greatest threat is anything that can spam blasts/pulses. Collodi is going to typically end up clumped together in a ball of puppety death, and Sonnia/'Tina/etc can really do a lot of damage with a couple blasts.
  10. ...Great, now I have to decide if I'm going to get Sonnia or Kaeris in September. HMMMMMMM...
  11. Does this mean my Mechanical Doves can be Lured by Belles?
  12. On this note, have they announced when they're going to release her box? I think she'll be my first henchman.
  13. For future reference; whenever in doubt, check the V2 card.
  14. Avatar of Transhumanism, I'm calling it.
  15. Out with you, you oppressors of men!
  16. No matter what you do, never cluster your guys together when Criid is on the board if you can avoid it. Her primary spell does three blasts with its major damage, and triggers to allow those blasts to be 2" away from each other. So you can bet that your opponent will be cheating and soulstoning the casting of that spell. She can clear out hordes like no other. Furthermore, remember that with anything with CA 7+, she does not need LoS to target. Forgetting this is an easy way to lose a master. On the other hand, she's only def 4, has no armor or any damage resistances except to magic. You can blow her away with non-spell ranged attacks. Just don't get too close: that sword of hers is surprisingly nasty.
  17. You got lots of crews, but no players? Sounds like time to run some demo games! Lady J vs Seamus makes for a good demo match.
  18. I actually have some Mannequin cards that have an extra line of text in their Link rule on the card, that my friend's cards don't have. What's up with that? There's no V-anything on either of the cards.
  19. I'll add another vote for Colette. She's tricky to pick up, but once you get the hang of her, there's a lot of crazy crap you can do with her, and it's tons of fun. Also, nothing quite like being able to reliably spend and generate two soulstones per turn.
  20. Right, so I was putzing around the other day and something occurred to me. You know what this game needs that would fit just fine into its aesthetic? A victorian-era time-traveller. What do you all think of the idea? He could be an Outcast master, with minions like; dinosaurs, a kind-of retro-futuristic guy (think the Buck Rogers comics), time anomalies (I don't know what they'd look like, but I'm imagining human-shaped rips in space), a cave man, etc. As for his particular trick for how he plays, I'm not quite sure what would work. I was thinking that he could have spells to help him bolster his control cards, but that could easily become far too powerful.
  21. In my opinion, if they don't incorporate a playing card motif in her avatar form, they're missing out on a really cool visual tie-in to the game's fate system.
  22. Oh, this thing is nice. However, the shipping costs make it almost as expensive as the Malifaux battlefoam bag for me. Do you know of a place I could get it from in the states, so it wouldn't have a $30 shipping fee?
  23. The question I have is if they have any plans for making a new rules manual some time after Twisting Fates comes out. I don't have the rules manual now, and I'd hate to have to buy two books instead of waiting a bit and buying one.
  24. Hmmm. Probably gonna go with the regular Malifaux bag, because this one... I don't think it has room for a Coryphee Duet in one of those sheets of foam. Also, I can use the regular Malifaux bag to carry around my Infinity stuff, too.
  25. I love Colette. She works excellently right out of the box with only a blister of doves, and maybe a Coryphee if you feel like it. My list: Colette Cassandra Performers x 2 Coryphee x 2
