  1. After some discussion on this and another thread, I think my next list will look something more like this. Arcanists Crew - 35 - Scrap Ramos -- 4 Pool + Ramos, Avatar of Invention [2ss] Brass Arachnid [2ss] Kaeris [8ss] Essence of Power [2ss] Large Steampunk Arachnid [5ss] Large Steampunk Arachnid [5ss] Lazarus [9ss] Although I am a fan of proxying, I may leave Alyce in place of Lazarus until he becomes available, since I'll already be proxying Avatar Ramos by setting down the 50mm in base contact with him, then setting him on top of the new base. In my opinion, he didn't get much of an avatar sculpt, but he certainly makes up for that in avatar abilities. It's definitely going to be very starting hand intensive, relying on 2 :tomes of 7+ and 1 :tomes of 11+ (possibly red joker) to summon Electrical Creation twice and to get the Brass Arachnid to be able to Stoke Ramos for the reactivation in order to summon EC that second time (after it bursts in between his activations), but it could lead to a turn 2 manifest. [in a brawl with Ramos and Hoffman, I could give Ramos the Brass and Hoff the Toolkit, letting Ramos abuse both. And no, that's not counting all of the other ways Hoffman could help out.] The Large Steampunk Arachnids are there for some early scrap counters that Ramos will need for later on. They'll also allow Lazarus to assimilate Ramos' use soulstone ability for the rest of the game. And, Ramos can certainly resummon those models later on.
  2. I'm failing to see that as a possibility. Sure, we could run her without Tots or YN, but why would / should we want to? If taking her with 3ss models maximizes her abilities and nets us larger models that pay off some, if not all of her 13ss, I don't see why we wouldn't want to gain the benefits. Even using her as a Henchman, I'm sure we'd be running her with some Tots and / or YN unless they gave her a new set of special forces to go with her. Are people playing comparable models that have synergy with a model listed by name on their stats without some of those listed models in their crew or the ability to summon them? What of Snowstorm or Ashes and Dust that were both mentioned earlier? I don't play either of them, so I'm just going off of the comparisons that were used. Although, with a model like Ashes and Dust, going off of both its SS and $$ cost, since it does fit into at least two crews, Leveticus and Nicodem, without any extra effort, if someone already owned both masters, then investing in the model would probably be worth it. Didn't someone mention that Nekima works well with other Neverborn masters?
  3. I think, from the fluff in Twisting Fates, most of the Neverborn take forever to age, except when the event fast forwarded Candy's growth and whatever the story is of Zoraida not actually being Neverborn. I only read through it once. Feel free to read for yourself to glean more insight from it. I doubt it'll be clarified until book 4 or later.
  4. Freikorps armor is fairly all inclusive, what with an armor value and immunities to all damage from , , and . The Librarian adds magic resistance to the mix as well. [Right? My books are at home.] They just don't have the other stackable armor types, unless some other model's effect can grant it to them. And Hatchethead, I concur. I'd rather have my face in the sand and dick in the dirt than hope my kevlar stops a bullet. Trying to apply real life military terms and logic to Malifaux abilities, or any other game is tricky to say the least. [i do know that one of the columnists from D20 Modern used to be a tanker in the Army and used that experience for when a vehicle counts as disabled and other weapons stats.] Yeah, as per usual, Malifaux has the most streamlined yet most confusing rules. What's this I hear about a Malifaux 2.0? Or at the least, some rules manual 2.0? Oh, and thank you to Eyespy for the page number for armor vs object. [Page 44 of the Rules Manual, for those of you just tuning in.] With traits, abilities, etc., all scattered throughout the rules manual, it can be quite the process trying to find what even one model is fully capable of. I don't think saving the ink on the cards by not spelling out the abilites, triggers, etc., on the card has turned out to be worth it. At least if there were room on the card for each, we could just print out the new wording on an errata'd card and glue it to it, instead of waiting for a vX.0 version. And the cards could stand to be a wee bit larger (just enough so that they still fit in the same toploaders that we use now that they're not quite a perfect fit for).
  5. Outstanding. I do own her, but I haven't taken her, or her crew, out of the box. I'd bought a lot on ebay with both her and the Dreamer's crews, a Malifaux bag (giving me a second on, as my first one was getting full), two sets of bases (Victorian and Graveyard), and book one, all for less than the price of the bag and one crew. The guy even threw in a pair of dry erase markers and a 25 pack of toploaders for putting the stat cards in. We hadn't even thought about that around here at the time. Shortly thereafter, most players were using them in this area. So far we've only found one sports card stores that carries the right size, but the LGS my buddy owns is looking to carry them if their distributors can get them. But I digress. Maybe I'll reconsider using her at some point, once we start having brawls. Regarding Ramos, also outstanding. Depending on oppoent, there might be even more scrap counters to make use of, leaving the LSPAs alive for later. But it does sound like an all around safe strategy to get him manifested early.
  6. All very good to know. Thanks for another nice trick with Alyce. Just to be certain, the Toolkit or Brass Arachnid could kill itself using Combat Mechanic in my above scenario and leave its scrap counter behind, correct? Not that I doubt it, but it still seems a bit too easy. Then again, most Masters have one manifest requirement that they'd likely be doing anyways. ------------------- Oh, another question regarding manifesting: Let's just assume all manifest requirements have been met to the point that the Master can manifest as a (1) action. Say that Master has Slow to Die (Colette does, right?). Can that Master manifest from Slow to Die if she dies from wounds (and get her healing flip, etc.)?
  7. And deploying him close enough with From the Shadows to pull off a first turn Taint Loyalty on their best model is a perk.
  8. Did they change the LSPA into a 50mm base? If not, he only drops 2 scrap counters for being a 40mm. It still lets you pull off those Lazarus shenanigans, which look fun. Ramos can still Salvage Under Fire for the other scrap counter to summon the Arachnid, but he won't be able to move on that activation. Question on the wording of his second requirement: It's phrased as Ramos inflicts 8 Wd on enemy models with the Electrical Fire spell. Does that mean he has to actually make a model or models take 8 Wd, or is sending the 8 Dg on them enough, even if they do prevention flips, etc.? Does it matter if the model cannot take the full 8 Wd even if he successfully inflicts it (no prevention flips, etc.) or does he have to spread it out over multiple models until he's inflicted 8 total Wd? Yeah, the EC is unique. When I need to get rid of it the turn I've summoned it, I just make sure to have summoned it away from my other models and just use its remaining 1AP (after slow) to Burst. So I can summon one EC, move Ramos twice burst the EC, reactivate Ramos, move him again once or twice, summon a second EC much closer to the enemy, requirement met. It doesn't net me any arachnids to make a swarm, but let's just say I'm not going that route. And maybe, instead of that second set of moves, we're lucky enough to have an enemy model in range that we manage to fry with Electrical Fire for 8 Wd. Waiting until the end of the activation order to activate Ramos could make this a strong possibility. But to be able to wait that long means having more models, and thus more activations than our opponent, which'll require many lower cost models and not using Companion or other abilities that allow for simultaneous activations. The Brass would make that easier, as Ramos wouldn't need to heal the turn after Burnout, but it wouldn't give him the 2nd :tomes he needs either, so we'd have to have a pair of 7 or higher :tomes in our starting hands just for the pair of EC, plus an 11 or higher :tomes to have the Brass use Stoke on Ramos for the reactivate. It makes this strategy very starting hand dependent, but when it works, it'll be devastating Also, with Brass, having Reactivate on hand means the Doctor could do all kinds of nastiness on turn 2, before or after manifesting. Of course he'll have to take advantage of the Reactivate before he manifests, as all effects fall off and he should probably use the Brass for one last trick (since it gets removed from the game, no scrap counter to show it was ever there), such as frying something else with Electrical Fire, summoning an EC (assuming we've disposed of the last one), or using Combat Medic, killing itself (and dropping a scrap counter in the process) to heal the Doc or another friendly construct nearby. That does give him his second activation to make use of his Casting Expert, manifest, maybe even make use of his new found Melee Expert, possibly using Leap to close up to a 10" difference (8" Cg distance from Leap plus 2" melee reach from Mechanical Limb). If we don't use his 0 on Leap, we have all of the options of Innovative Design at our disposal, assuming we have enough scrap counters to pay for them. Speaking of Innovative Design, just so I'm certain, its first, third, and fourth uses, state that they last until this model takes the Innovative Design Action again. Since it lists when it ends (and since it does require a cost of scrap counters) it supersedes the until closing phase most spells and effects have, right? Arcane Effigy: An extra card that I get to keep, nice. An extra AP for cast or channel actions, not bad. So, with it I could move Ramos twice and still cast two spells. Not quite as useful as reactivate, in my opinion, but still a viable option.
  9. Thank you. The only issue that's not sitting right with me at the moment is the Burning Marker. It's not terrain, so the terrain rule may not have any bearing on it. If it were terrain, I'd still think having the terrain enter your space would have the same effects as you entering its. It's the whole having a house dropped on you kinda thing. Or in this case, a burning body. I wanna say that it works more like a blast marker that just happens to stay until the turn wraps up and the flames die down. http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20881 Just found this in the (supposedly) Resolved Rules Questions section, but it doesn't look like there ever was a final ruling, just more speculation. They also kept treating it as terrain, when it isn't. They ended it with let's wait and see when Kaeris is released, but she's been released with no change to the wording, otherwise I wouldn't have had the question. But even treating it as terrain, they do make it entering the model's space the same as the model entering its space. -------------------------------- My next Ramos match with the same opponent was against the Freikorps, Taelor, and Convict Gunslinger. Both of these matches against living models make me want Ramos to have a spell that makes a model into a Construct, like Marcus can make them into a Beast. That, or I just need to bring a graverobber along with me to allow for, clean up and use corpse counters, since their models aren't giving me any extra scrap counters. I took a second Gunsmith, leaving me only 2ss. The Gunsmith seemed to be worth it, but I feel I'd rather have a few more soulstones. Gonna ponder over which 3 - 5 point model might serve me best, or if need be, which combination of models can make up for taking out both Gunsmiths. Having them around for Kaeris to heal up the wounds she's inflicted on herself to draw cards AND having their Hard Way :+fate to attacks able activate is quite the advantage.
  10. That's what I thought, it just seemed like too easy of a requirement to ask Ramos to do what he does first turn anyways. Alyce has been using Burnout on Ramos, granting him reactivate, but reducing him to one wound at the start closing phasing. It's not always the safest of gambles, but it does get the job done. The second :tomes from the Mobile Toolkit is definitely something he needs for summoning spiders and wub-wubs. It is a pity it can only tag along with Ramos or Hoffman instead of Kaeris. [in a brawl, both Ramos and Hoffman can have one if need be, as it's not a unique.] Its Weld Together ability is also helpful for putting Doctor Ramos back together again the turn after Burnout. Ramos can then use Combat Mechanic to kill the Toolkit for another healing flip, using a soulstone for a third healing flip this turn if need be, or waiting for manifest to spend the stone for the same. Ramos' Electrical Fire manifest requirement states that he has to inflict 8Wd on enemy models, so getting him into range with them, if they haven't already made a mad dash for him can be a slow endeavor. Holding high cards and having the soulstones to use to ensure he hits with no mods or a positive flip to damage, so that we can cheat in severe damage, or even the Red Joker, will make it worth it. The doll might be fun, but I'd still rather have access to Kaeris and other M&SU Assets than just the doll. They do a great job of softening up the opposition at range so he can close in for the kill. I'm quite willing to kill the Toolkit to heal the Doc before he manifests. Alyce lets me draw two extra cards, as long as she stays nearby, even if I do have to discard them. It's like having Lilith's Rush of Magic twice.
  11. Thank you. I've been wanting to run Lilith with Waldgeists for awhile, since they seemed made for her. Her avatar just made them even better together. I'll have to look at Tuco more closely. His backstory is intriguing, but I've really only glanced at his stats (any idea on his release date?). Her tots and / or young always work well with blood being spilled. I have only fielded the twins a couple times: once with Lilith, once with the Dreamer. I've been meaning to get back to using them. (Too bad the broken lure combo with Nekima has been cuddled away.)
  12. Thanks for the cubes. I happen to keep rootbeer hard candies in my car. *offers you one*

  13. Here's to hoping they can grow into a Nekima. If we're talking chess, tots are pawns and Nekima's the queen. Sure, we can't get two of her into play at once (unlike real chess), but a replacement or, through the magic of grow, a bargain basement initial Nekima would be a wrecking ball. Now, if only Lilith could actually mother more tots for the cost of some blood counters.
  14. Playing Ramos four times in a row has me wanting to head back to Lilith for at least a match. I'm tinkering with an avatar friendly list for her for a Brawl, using the Freikorps (with the coupon of no second master for a free VonSchill) with a pair of Specialists and a pair of Trappers to take advantage of the terrain.
  15. Thank you all. I'm going to be putting these into play in just a moment with the (mostly) same list against the Freikorps. I'm debating whether I should go with that second Gunsmith or just start with a few Arachnids to making swarming an easier endeavor. ------------------- As I was facing the Freikorps (with Taelor and Convict Gunslinger along for support), I opted for the second Gunsmith. Strategies are Distract for me and Claim Jump for my opponent. I've taken announced Bodyguard twice (Ramos and Kaeris). My opponent has announced Kill Protege (Alyce). We're only two turns in and are pausing the game until tomorrow. Turn one was uneventful. A Burnt Out Ramos made two Arachnids and an Electrical Creation. Kaeris drew me a card and laid down a Flame Wall. Turn two started ramping up. Ramos got Burnt again, made two more Arachnids, which both scurried up on a line with the first two, now 10" from Ramos, and not far from the opposition. Arachnid A double walks up to Taelor and latches on. Kaeris and EoP move in and use Overheat on Arachnid A, giving Taelor, a Freikorpsman, Specialist, and Convict Gunslinger one Burning Token. Both Gunsmiths, with armor piercing, move up, popping off shots at the Trapper. Only one was wounded and could use The Hard Way, but doing so flipped the Red Joker for Experimental. Trapper is down to its final wound. Arachnid B Swarms together with C & D, heals its 2Dg walks to melee range with Taelor, and, between its two swings, takes her down to one Wd. As she has a Burning Token, she'll either die or receive slow (once we resolve all of our Closing Phase before moving onto turn three tomorrow).
  16. Ramos vs Viktoria on a long, narrow coffee table. Turns out the table is 24" by 48". We played longways, like a football field. It certainly made Ramos' Strategy of "Destroy the Evidence" and Scheme of "Power Ritual" unattainable. Poor choices, but I thought I could get Kaeris to the backfield. Ramos did manage to kill Sword Vikie and Hans with Electrical Fire but was unable to kill any models with his Clockwork Fist, so he did not achieve "Do I Have to Do Everything Myself" either. The Vikie's had the Strategy "Escape and Survive". As Killjoy was the only remaining model on her crew at the end, that didn't happen. Neither did the announced Scheme "Breakthrough" as none of her models was even past the 50 yard line, much less in my end zone (aka Deployment zone). Her unannounced Scheme of "First Blood" netted her 1VP, for the win. -------------------------------- Afterthoughts: I'm running a new Ramos list and need to get a better feel for all of the working pieces. The same went for my opponent running Vikies for the second or third time ever. My list: Arcanists Crew - 35 - Scrap Ramos -- 8 Pool (maybe dropping down to 6 for avatar) Mobile Toolkit [3ss] Kaeris [8ss] Essence of Power [2ss] Gunsmith [6ss] Rusty Alyce [10ss] I'm thinking, even though I did burn through all 8ss, that 6 of those might have been better spent on a second Gunsmith. [i didn't take avatar because it was a learning game and I didn't want to discourage my opponent.] I did take a huge risk having Alyce use Burn Out on Ramos turn 1 to give him Reactivate. It did get me a Steampunk Arachnid Swarm on turn 2, but instead of continuing with the construct factory, I started moving Ramos on a slow march forward (after some healing by the Toolkit). Speaking of the Swarm, it charged Gun Vikie on its first appearance, missed, missed again on its first swing with melee master, but hit for 3 on its third swing, triggering Overwhelm leaving her paralyzed. If it had connected with one more hit in there somewhere, I'd have had it swing on Sword Vikie too. Alyce failed to cast Burnout on it, so it didn't get the chance to swing again. Instead, now that Hans had taken it down to 3Wd, Kaeris and Essence of Power closed in on her, the EoP going first. It cast Overheat, killing the Swarm and giving both Vickies a burning token. Kaeris Immolated Gun Vikie, killing her and leaving a pillar of flame in her place. It missed Sword Vikie by a quarter inch (if that can even affect her / be placed touching her). ---------------------------------- Some questions that arose during play that I didn't stop to look up: Hans - Sniper: This model ignores cover, obscuring terrain, and intervening models when targeting ranged attacks. Does him ignoring the intervening models also mean that he does not have to flip for firing into melee? We played it as he didn't just to keep the game moving. Steampunk Arachnid - (1) Swarm Together ...Any wounds or effects on the individual Steampunk Arachnids are applied to the Steampunk Arachnid Swarm. Does Slow count as an effect? One of the Arachnids (let's call it A) had Slow from being freshly summoned, walked up into base contact with the other two, used Disruption Field for (0), and ended its activation. Next model to activate was another Arachnid (. It used Disruption Field followed by Swarm Together. The 2Wds on A (from it getting shot as team Vikie tried to thwart this plan) carried over to the Swarm, but does Slow? I ruled it as yes, again to speed things up. So instead of 3AP, I only gave it 2AP, plus the 0 from the Arachnid C which I used for Self Repair, plus the +2 Melee Master attacks. Kaeris - (1) Immolate: ...If target model is killed, replace it with one 50mm marker. The marker is obscuring, Ht5, and hazardous (Dg 3). The marker only lasts until the End Close Phase like her Flame Wall, right? That's how we played it. Can it be placed touching another model (as it doesn't specify it like Flame Wall)? If it can, does it then deal its 3Dg? [From a game vs Colette] Can a Coryphee use Pass Through to just go through it or a Flame Wall unscathed? As it's a marker, not a model, my reasoning is no, it can't. Burning Marker / Flame Wall - Obscuring (Pg. 15 of the Rules Manual) - Models can draw LoS up to 3" across an intervening base with the obscuring trait, but not entirely through the base. - Models on an obscuring base can draw LoS up to 3" to other models on that base. - If all the lines drawn by a model must be drawn across more than 3" of a base with the obscuring trait, or must be drawn entirely through the base and that base's Ht is equal to or greater than both the model's and the target's Ht, then the model's LoS to the target is blocked. - If LoS is drawn 3" or less across a base with the obscuring trait, or if the base's Ht is less than both the model's and target's Ht, then the model has partial LoS to the target. If a model draws LoS to a target that is on a base with the obscuring trait, but the line drawn does not cross the obscuring base, the target still receives soft cover. Do Flame Walls / Markers count as terrain? If not, which I think I remember is the case, does that mean Hans' Sniper can't ignore it? A worker at the LGS I originally started buying Malifaux from had told me, in regards to Stitched Together's Fog that it was only obscuring, so it was no problem because he'd just use Focus to negate the negative flip (presumably from soft cover). This was prior to the release of the Rules Manual, so I don't know if firing into / through more than 3" of obscuring's rules changed at some point. What it shows me in the example on pg. 16 is that obscuring can be fired into if it's less than 3" but not fired through. So Flame Wall / Marker can't be fired through, right? What about Fog? Alyce - Impressionable: At the start of the game, nominate 1 Master with Scavenger in this model's crew. This model can use the Master's Ca or its own when casting spells. This model gains all of the Master's abilities affecting its Ca. With Ramos as the Master, does that include: Counterspell? Perfect Machine? Casting Expert? Surge? I used none of the above during this game. Pg. 12 of the Rules Manual, 8 - Talents Models in Malifaux can possess one or more Talents. Talents are divided into four categories: Abilities, Actions, Triggers, and Weapons. Abilities: A model's Abilities are always considered active during the game unless otherwise indicated and are applied whenever called for int the rules. This includes Abilities that grant the model additional general or specific action points (AP), such as (+1) Fast, or (+2) Melee Master. These abilities are listed in the model's Actions entry for ease of reference. See Actions, p. 32. Actions: Any specific Actions a model can perform in addition to the general Actions outlined on p. 33. This also includes any AP-granting Abilities, such as (+1) Melee Expert. Triggers: Triggers can be activated when the model meets the conditions for their use (see Triggers p. 26)... That seems to me that Alyce should, at the least, have access to Casting Expert. Alyce - (1) Burnout: (CC:15 :tomes / Rst: - / Rg: 10) Target friendly Construct receives Reactivate. Reduce target to 1 Wd at the start of the Closing Phase. Can Burnout target a model with only 1 Wd? If so, does it inflict any additional Wounds? I didn't think it could target a model with only 1 Wd; however, I didn't think it could deal any additional Wounds. I thought it'd be kinda broken to just keep giving Ramos Reactivate and never letting him heal. It might be a bit more fair if he has to heal at least 1 Wd before it happens again. Killjoy - Blood Price: Starting with the third turn, if this model is in play and does not have an enemy model in its melee range at the start of an Activation Phase, it immediately Charges the closest model. It's turn three, we haven't yet flipped for initiative, there's no enemy model in Killjoy's melee range, it immediately charges the closest model before we even flip for initiative, correct? Does this charge still burn his 2AP? Does it count as activating him? If Onslaught's trigger is met, can it be declared as well? If the model is killed, can Eat Your Fill be used? Does he still have (+1) Melee Expert remaining? Does it happen before Out of Control? Does Out of Control have anything to do with this charge, or will that have to wait until after he's just used his 2AP charge, resolves anything else, ends this special activation, and it finally comes around for his player to actually activate him? ------------------------ Mostly I'm posting this to come back to it later to look them up when I have the time. Should you answer any of these questions, I would appreciate it. Citations in the rules / updates / errata would also be appreciated for any questions answered. Thanks in advance.
  17. I, too, look forward to Ramos in my LGS. In the meantime, just plop Ramos on top of 50mm base when his avatar manifests. Everyone will get the idea.
  18. My previous build had the same but quickly grew to outnumber my opponent's crew through the Arachnids/Electrical Creation every turn combined with whittling down a model or two a turn. With Alyce around providing 2 extra cards, the occasional (painful) reactivate, and maybe a Steampunk Abomination from time to time, not to mention her ranged attacks and her other tricks, I think she'll definitely turn the tide. If I do pay for Ramos' avatar, that threat alone should either lure my opponents into kill range in an attempt to shut him down before that happens or make them give Ramos a wider berth to avoid fulfilling his second manifest requirement of 8wds to enemy models through Electrical Fire, cutting a clean path to any objective he should make his way towards. Of the many Ramos threads on here, is there one you recommend for better tactics, especially on getting to avatar in a hurry?
  19. Great job! I too, would like two. With as many of us saying that, should printing and selling happen, might I suggest selling them as a two-pack? That might also mean going with two different colors for the backs for easy deck sorting when going from a multi-deck game back to a game of Malifaux. And if you do go with Kickstarter, a two-pack of decks would be the perfect reward for casual investors. Maybe do a t-shirt with an array of the card designs for the next level up. As they could be pre-printed or printed as needed, you could keep from having too much in stock at any one time.
  20. Picked up my Kaeris crew box tonight, so I can retire my proxy soon. The list I've been running with Ramos the last few go arounds has been: Arcanists Crew - 35 - Scrap Ramos -- 5 Pool Mobile Toolkit [3ss] Kaeris [8ss] Essence of Power [2ss] Joss [9ss] Steamborg Executioner (aka Hank)[10ss] I've had Ramos hang back behind full cover making Steampunk Arachnids and Electrical Creations (sent on suicide missions when any model would get too close) while Kaeris & EoP went after high value targets and Joss and Hank eliminated threats on my flanks. It's worked fairly well for me so far, but I think I'm going to finally throw Alyce into my list and get a bit more aggressive, spawning new models only as need be when opportunity arises. My new list (Ramos' Angels) is: Arcanists Crew - 35 - Scrap Ramos -- 8 Pool (maybe dropping down to 6 for avatar) Mobile Toolkit [3ss] Kaeris [8ss] Essence of Power [2ss] Gunsmith [6ss] Rusty Alyce [10ss] Thoughts?
  21. That's what I've been saying since I read the book 2 fluff and looked at drifter on Ronin. At 13ss, yeah, she's pricey to include in a master's crew. As a henchman leading a crew for free, gaining use soulstones for all of the things she's deficient in, with a henchman pool of probably 5, Nekima can run a grow or partial grow list and still have room to take other interesting support models. Nekima is a better mother of monsters than Lilith is, especially now that Lilith's avatar is all about trees and Waldgeists. I thought maybe book 3 would bring the rules set for upgrading minions to henchmen, but we'll have to wait until book 4 at the least. I heard in the chatrooms that the entire idea was something from book 1 that was later scrapped. Let's hope not. P.s. Here's the proxy I've used for Nekima since I started playing Lilith's crew (Reaper Minis' Princess of Hell by Bobby Jackson): I've left mine as is, as she is fairly close. Changing out the whip for the greatsword and removing her other sword, enlarging her horns, and giving her cloven hooves is really all that's needed. I prefer the pile of skulls that this Reaper mini is molded to over the pile of rocks that Nekima attempts to adhere to. As far as size goes, even leaving her as is with the sword in the air, and having her glued to a 50mm base, she still fits in the same amount of 4x4 pluck that my Mature Nephilim occupy in my Malifaux Battlefoam bag. And here's my horrible paint job so far:
  22. Looks good. I may have to do something similar with the chess set I got at a thrift store years ago that I was going to use for play-testing Puppet Wars back when it was still grid-based instead of the hexes in the final product. [i'd have been a row and a column short, but it would have given us an idea on how well the game mechanics worked.] Hinged is nice. Mine, the board space just sits on top, but I think mine has a lot more space, like enough for four regular foam trays, or two pluck.
  23. So it seems Lilith's avatar is going to focus on the nature / terrain aspect of her, instead the mother of monsters aspect, ie. finally being able to pop out Terror Tots the way that Ramos pops out Steampunk Arachnids (and Electrical creations). That's been one of my complaints about running her. I can spend blood counters to make my Tots into Young into Mature Nephilim, but late game, if I'm out of Tots and my Young and Mature take a beating, I can't replace them. Meanwhile, Ressers and Arcanists (and Leveticus) can keep getting replacement troops.
  24. She does just seem to take up space, at least from my side of the table. But she is usually the last to die in our scraps. Had one game where my Mature Nephilim flew across the battlefield, smacked her out of the way, and charged Kirai for a ton of damage. Unfortunately, she just shunted all of that damage to a Seishin. But it looked impressive nonetheless.
  25. Alps Baby Kade Candy Dreamer Electrical Creation (wub wub wub wub) Freikorps Guild Guards Hamelin Insidious Madness Jackalope Kirai Leveticus Mother of Monsters, Lilith Nekima Ophelia LaCroix Pandora Quarantine Zone RYLE!!! Soulstones Terror Tots Uncontrollable Crying Victor Ramos, M.D. Waldgeist (e)Xterminate Young Nephilim Zoraida The list / letters could have been different. We all discussed it as we were actually playing this as "I'm going to a picnic, and I'm bringing," but these are the ones that we used. Play it with some friends and post what your group came up with.
