  1. Good day fellow prowlers of the Wyrd forums, Something a little different for this event as every master will be required to have their “Avatar Upgrade” (sorry no wave 5 masters for this event), this is a free upgrade and doesn’t count towards the masters upgrade limit. You will also need to choose a “Manifest Event” (you may change this between rounds). This is not only a good excuse to rollout those Avatar Models (if you have them) as we are also going to give out a prize for the best Kitbashed Avatar Model. Rules on the Kitbash model are simple; it must be at least 40% Wyrd, look cool and be a fitting representation of said Avatar. Do not worry if you do not have an Avatar model or suck at Kitbashing, as all you need to play the game is a spare 50mm base to pop your master on when they manifest. So this is a Fixed Faction, 50ss event being held over three 120 minute rounds using GG2018. We only have 14 places available so you will have to be quick to book your places. The Venue: Impact Wargaming, 63 Laughton Road, Dinnington, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S25 2PN Rules Pack: Avatars Assemble Entree Fee: £15 on the door (advance booked tickets £10) You can book your place by phoning the shop on (01909) 560273 and ask for Trev, or message me with your email address if you want to pay via Paypal. 2. Our gaming group is all set to begin a Shifting Loyalties campaign at the end of February and I thought instead of just transferring my master onto a 50mm base it would look fare better to have an actual Avatar model. Over hear in the UK they are a little hard to come by and those that do pop up on ebay etc I am just not willing to pay the price people are asking. So being tight fisted as I am it is time to set to and make one for myself, picked up one of the old metal Sonnia models at a reasonable price and raided the shops sprue boxes for anything with flames on. This is my progress so far, any hint or tips are more than welcome.
  3. Hello, as the topic states I am looking for the Rasptuina Avatar, the old metal Union Miner, and old Wicked Dolls. I'm from Europe (Austria) Thanks!
  4. Specifically want the one where she pulls a rabbit out of a hat, but will buy the full pack of three if that's how it's sold.
  5. Hey, I'm looking to get my hands on Miss Models and Avatars. If anyone can help, it's my fellow friends who went through the breach.
  6. Iron Painter 2016; Round 3 - "Wyrd Science Submission" - ELIM “Trepidation of the Spheres" Technology may have exceeded his humanity yet his spirit must prevail! Note: One of my goals, in my first time entering Iron Painter, was to utilize a 3D printed object or model as part of the scenery/diorama/set for each round. This particular model, Apocalypse Teleporter Device, is available for download for free/non-commercial use if you are interested in printing one yourself: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1111770 It's an easy print with little or no support needed and just snap fits together.

Iron Painter 2016; Round 3 - "Wyrd Science" Submission - ELIM “Trepidation of the Spheres" Technology may have exceeded his humanity yet his spirit must prevail! I tried uploading the original image; however the server kept throwing errors. I'll try uploading another one in the morning to the main gallery if I have permissions/access to do so.
  8. Just received the Dreamer Avatar I plan to use in as Mysterious Emissary. Wanted to say how awesome this model is: great concept, full of character, great posture of the models (love Dreamer's attitude, and how Lord Chompy's fingers are positioned, both in the hand carrying the bed and the one resting on the ground). Very, very cool model. Well done, Wyrd! Well, maybe there's a more practical subject to use this thread for: a modeling suggestion. Since the "wall" section is resin and the rest is metal, would you think there could be any issue in the resin part bending due to the weight of the metal parts stuck to it? Any experience from those already owning the model? In case, any suggestion on how to strengthen and support it?

50mm Base to represent Sonia's avatar upgrade
  10. Lucius and Lynch don't have official avatar models, so those of us who use either of these Masters in Shifting Loyalties need to put on our respective thinking caps and figure something out for ourselves. I'll get things rolling with a few ideas I've had, and hopefully we can inspire each other in our efforts to bring these concepts to the table. Collector of Debts - I imagine Lynch sitting calmly in a chair, surrounded by Brilliance addicts (perhaps they're the chair too!), much like a dark version of David Bowie in the music video for Miracle Goodnight (that part starts at 01:40 in the video). An easier, and mechanically appropriate, conversion would be Lynch dealing at a card table. The Liar - My initial thought is to have Lucius at the center of a 50 mm base, as arrogant and unassuming as ever. I'm tempted to pick up another Bound by Law box and kit bash Lucius together with the two Lawyers, LAW book in the crook of one arm, his cane cradled in the other. Adding some green stuff to transform his cape into a writhing cloak of darkness that creeps along the floor.
  11. "Just like the Pied Piper, led rats through the streets. We dance like marionettes, swaying to the symphony of destruction" - "Symphony of Destruction" - Megadeth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***JUDGES!*** - Please visit my IP 2015 - Round 2 photobucket page for better/bigger/more/prettier pictures! http://s1382.photobucket.com/user/SpectreEliteGaming/library/Iron%20Painter%202015/Round%202%20-%20The%20End%20of%20the%20World%20As%20We%20Know%20It?sort=3&page=1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Though there are countless different versions of the story, for hundreds of years the Pied Piper of Hamelin has been a literary representation of the plague - not unlike the fairy tale version of the grim reaper! Who better than the piper to sound the song to bring about the end of mankind? The Piper is the commander of rats, avatar of the plague, and the taker of children. As the rats crawl out from beneath the earth and move to flood over the lands below - we will surely realize that this is the end of the world, as we know it. That lyrical verse by Megadeth was one of the first things that popped into my head as soon as I heard the theme for this round. I had been putting off this project for some time so I was more than happy to have an excuse to bomb through it. Wyrd Miniatures, as I'm sure you know, make a ton of references to pop-culture or real-world characters/themes. My hope was to take the Pied Piper reference and really sell it! Keeping in line with everything I hobby - this is a functional submission - I will use it as an overly obnoxious 50mm Avatar model... buuuuut the house is attached by a magnet and can be removed to be put on a 30mm base (with a cylindrical spacer for added height/weight) to be used as my master, as well! It is way sturdier than it looks, believe me. Expect to see this master at Gen Con! TRIVIA and DETAILS! I'm a sucker for detail and I like to put as much references and fun little details into my stuff, as possible. Therefore, I'd also like to draw attention to a few points of my submission that may be easily missed: - When the piper returned to the village of Hamelin to take the children, he wore green - as a hunter would. I have followed suit in appropriately nurgle-tastic fashion, as well as integrating some red/yellow and gold trim to keep him suitably "pied." - The coat of arms on the shield on the opposite side of the house is the actual coat of arms of Hamelin, Lower Saxony, Germany. - The flag that is being flown is an inverse of the St. Georges Cross. This is the flag of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation from 1200 to 1350. The story of the Pied Piper is said to originate during the late 1200's. - "Rats, rats, rats! Hundreds, thousands, millions of them, and everyone a life." - a nice, conveniently relevant Bram Stoker reference!... okay, fine... Swarm of Rats, as well - for all you Magic geeks. - The middle tier of the model is basically a really blunt reinforcement of theme. The end is certainly nigh and that baby is what you can expect as a result! Of course, the idea is: Rats = Plague = No more people... just ask the 200 million people who died from the Black Plague in the 1300's! - Along with the obvious large cut-out section so you can see the rats in the base that will crawl up through the bricked passage and eventually erupt from the top - there are a couple other smaller cross-sections on the backside - I collaged in a couple small pics to better display the effect. I really tried to focus on scenery effects (water effects/mother-flocking and an interesting display base) and some freehand for this submission. Hope you enjoy!!!
  12. Just wondering if there will be a deck with all the cards in the beta available in a physical deck for sale eventually?

  15. Hi guys! I've been working on this custom conversion of Nicodem and aNicodem for quite a while, and I finally got him all put together. Unfortunately, the pictures expose some of the speckled blemishes throughout the piece, but after I touch those up, this is about as good as I'm going to get it. It works both as a 30mm Master, and a magnetized-on 50mm Avatar. I got the inspiration for the piece from reading Nicodem's Event passage, and how the undead beneath his feet began to experience emotion and true life again, and were yearning for Nicodem's salvation. This would be them begging their new life-giver for one last shot at redeeming themselves, in any way they could serve the Zombie Horde Lord: Featuring: -4 arms from Lord Chombybits -2 arms from Coppelius (Only one can be seen easily) -1 arm from a Flesh Construct -1 arm from Bad Juju -A flood's worth of glue -Pieces of a skeleton figure from a kindly friend who took these pictures! Now to just.... try and find a stat card online
  16. Hi everyone! Long time, no post! I figured I should put up some quick pictures of my Lady Justice Guild Crew. I finished it recently after about 3 months of casual work on it for a slow grow with a few friends (The same one Borzag did a christmas crew for). I went with Justice as her crew was the one I had with the most number of models unpainted, and I built on it to get it to a decent sized crew. I also planned out the bases a bit more than I usually do for an army, so did them with cracked earth and sand, as well as some of the Ghost Town accessories (Which are useful on things like the hounds to tell the duplicate models apart). Anyway, photos! Lady Justice, the Governor’s Proxy, the Scales of Justice, and some Guild Hounds: The Executioner, Brutal Effigy, and Death Marshals: Avatar Justice, Austringers, Judge, and Exorcist: C&C welcome, although I do promise to get some better photos of these (And a bunch of other models I have painted over the past year or so) sorted out over the next few weeks once I get back from Cancon on the weekend.
  17. God evening my fellow lads, lassies and living impaired! A wargamer for some years, I have started with Malifaux and it is smashing! With only about 6-7 games under the spats and I am in, hook line and sinker. I choose everyone's favourite dandy serial-killer, love how tough the bastard is. The alternative model screams evil dead and I am afraid that my painting skill are no contender for this sculpt, none the less it was fun to paint. In retrospect the hat should have been blue. The avatar is dripping with character and was one of the most interesting painting experience I have had, for a long time( painted a lot of warjacks not going to lie). I realised that the watch is no longer attached. Convict gunslinger “aka Bartholomew” was the model which attracted me to the game. The downtrodden end of the line feel of the models is great. Mange to paint some tattoos( tried for an Victorian era sailor colour of dark green) but I don't think they turned out to well. And for the ladies! Mortimer is a dapper chap. A dedicated man working close to the management but not squeamish about doing garden work and dirtying his hands with some good old fashioned work. Harlots and Punks to come. And I apologise for the bad photographs, i it is not my cup of coffe.
  18. Howdy all! What would be a decent color scheme for Hamelin, aHamelin and his Rat-catchers and Obedient Wretch? Furthermore, how should Stolen be done? (I was thinking they'd not match, unlike Ham, aHam and the Wretch and Catchers, but what colors are good for 3 Stolen?) I also need a color guide for Nix - what breed of dog most closely matches the dead dog? Furthermore, I'm looking to paint 12 rats - 4 in each color but what colors work for rats? Should I do a black/dark gray/light gray/brown 3/3/3/3 split? I like the idea of dark brown, tan, and white for rats too but it's hard to evenly split 12 rats among 7 colors. Perhaps I could make it white/black/dark gray/light gray/dark brown/light brown/tan 1/1/2/2/2/2/2 split? Which seems more sound for rats? (AND THEN THERE ARE CALICOS. UGH THE OPTIONS XD) EDIT: I've decided I'm making the Wretch's rat (in hand) white, and going with a 2/2/2/2/2/2 split on the rats so that should be fine. Finally, I want to make bases for my models, but I am on a severe budget (meaning ~$8) for materials. What should I do about that? Thanks all in advance! I love the work you guys put up on here. ~Kalkris
  19. It's been awhile since my last post (working on belle zombies) just got my Lilith avatar Wednesday and I'm working on it. This will be fun. Now I finish putting it together and prime it so it is ready to paint I might have it done this weekend. Here are some pic of what i done so far.
  20. Hey just joined the forum and love this game! First off someone correct me if I am posting in the right area, I am new so still navigating the site. I was just wondering if anyone could help me, I don't have the Twisting fates rulebook yet...and I can't find the Avatar Dreamer rules anywhere. 1) Is there anywhere I can see the rules online? 2) To people who have seen the rules, I have heard that he has the ability to make terrain and if so what are they? I wanted to get the terrain made and I don't know what I need. Thanks all!
  21. So I have all the arcanists, beasts, and constructs that are out and it's about time for me to start getting everything painted and ready to go. Right now I am working on the things I will be using at Adepticon. Comments and thoughts welcome! I wanted my Kaeris to stand out more so I have up high, pinned her to the lamp post, and the lamp post to the base also put some weight under the base to make it not fall over. I really like how it turned out and I cannot wait to see it finished. Avatar Ramos, pain to get together and to fit on the base but I love the model
  22. When an avatar manifests, it Replaces the master. Replace (RM pg.38) requires base contact and room for the replacing model. Does this mean that if there is no room for the avatar in base contact, manifest can not occur? If so, what about the Automatic Manifest?
  23. Hey all, I'm a mcmourning player, but amongst other things I'm currently modelling up a shambling hoarde of zombies for nicodem, and want to add the avatar of decay to my collection. There's no model yet, but I'm eager to make one. That said, what base size do you think would be appropriate? 40mm seems best to me, but I fear I'll struggle to fit a bunch of zeds on there, so might use 50mm. That said, If I make it 40mm and the actual model when released is on 50mm, I easily upsize the base, but will struggle to downsize if the opposite is true. Any thoughts?
