  1. Puts a huge bulls-eye on Lenny, but with the 10 Wd, HtW, self-healing, other Gremlin-based healing, and being able to hide behind Gracie easily because he's 40mm to her 50mm and Saddle is a place effect, he should be relatively well protected.
  2. I think they make a very solid "catch all" piece. They have great utility in getting around defenses that are a general weakness for Gremlins (Armor and Incorporeal) while also bringing some nice little bonuses to every crew. They don't necessarily excel at any one thing, but for their utility and hiring cost they are accessible to all of our crews. I'm really hoping they have some cool models, because I think they're a great addition to the faction.
  3. Just want to mention I'm really digging the prominence of the Recent Forum Activity and View New Content areas. I never really used these features on other forums, but they really stand out here and I've made great use of them to engage in discussions I'd normally have just missed out on.
  4. Man, I definitely squeeked in for the gold medal on this answer by just the narrowest of margins! #BadOlympicHumor
  5. You'll note that all of those abilities, actions, and effects are all applying the same Chi condition, so each source of Chi stacks with one another BUT Yan Lo can only have one Chi condition on him. And that condition specifies you can only get +3 Ca maximum. So let's say Yan Lo already has Chi +3 from his Harvest Chi ability. He then uses Focus Chi to gain another Chi +1. This will stack to give him a grand total of Chi +4, but Chi specifies that you can still only get +3 Ca from it still. So he could have Chi +18 from three or four different sources of gaining Chi, but it's still restricted to only a +3 Ca maximum. The reason that Chi can stack so high without giving a greater buff to Ca is because it's a resource he can spend on things like Transendance and Ascendance, in addition to the bonus Ca value it grants.
  6. It means after the model with Unmade succeeds in the duel, meaning that the Attacker failed the duel against them (i.e. after missing).
  7. Page 46. CTRL+F is your friend
  8. I like that the Saddle can now carry around Pigs. Having a little Piglet climb aboard Old Major or Gracie just sounds adorable.
  9. My argument is that it is, it's simply phrased differently. To say something "deals +2 damage" is simple shorthand for "deal an additional 2 damage." You can't deal an additional 2 damage when no damage source exists, the "when damaging" is implicit. As noted Burning specifically says a model suffers damage and the damage simply stacks as the conditional value increases. The "+X" notation there is inherently different than that included on Frenzied. As noted above if a model gets +2 Cg but has a Cg -- naturally they don't become Cg 2. You can't enhance something that doesn't exist.
  10. For pure damage/threat output? Sure. But I feel Burt is probably a better "tank" than any of the LaCroix. He doesn't have Use Soulstone like Francois, but I think with Slippery, HtK, and It's All in the Reflexes he's probably a more imposing target still. Also with Critical Strike and Loose Trigger his individual damage potential does not require damaging himself, which frees up resources that you'd spend on healing those self-inflicted wounds. Add on top of his utility with Crackerjack Timing and Sic 'em Girl! and I think he's a very competitive choice. The role-differentiation that I see are: - Francois = Total glass cannon. Greatest damage output potential but with high risk/reward. - Raphael = Mid-range shooter with similar mechanics, but a bit heartier with Armor and HtK. - Rami = High-range, low-damage sniper. - Burt = Frontline scrapper with both melee and shooting capabilities, with lower overall potential but lower risk as well. I don't see a "best" choice between Francois, Raphael, and Burt. I see different choices with different tradeoffs, and that's a good place to be I think. You may always choose Francois, but that doesn't mean the others aren't valid options. It's more of a personal preference, I feel.
  11. Except Burning specifically states that the Condition-holder suffers damage. Frenzied is enhancing the damage of Ml Actions, but Bear Hug has no "suffers damage" clause to enhance. The + indicator on Burning is because that's how stacking conditions works. The + indicator in Frenzied, to me, indicates it's enhancing an existing source of damage. It is worded slightly different, but consider how Critical Strike would work on Bear Hug. It is a very similar effect, but since it is a Trigger is slightly more specific by claiming "when damaging". I read Frenzied in much the same way. "When damaging" it deals +2 damage, because if there is no original source of damage nothing within Frenzied tells you to deal damage by itself.
  12. I would wager that it doesn't. I would think that unless the Action mentions a model suffering damage that adding damage doesn't do anything. I mean, point to me where in Bear Hug a model suffers damage that could be enhanced? It has a target, but no a "target suffers X damage" clause or anything similar, so there's nothing to enhance.
  13. With their newfound affinity you can latch a Saddle onto Gracie and have her cart Burt around too So you can have Gracie move him into position, then have him Charge or shoot in only to call her in via Sic 'em Girl!, where she can proceed to tear them a new one when she Reactivates.
  14. No, he can't. The Release the Hounds Ability would have to specify that it ignores all hiring restrictions, and not just Faction-based restrictions, to override the rulebook.
  15. Given a plain text reading I would say you would have no suits at all. The "instead of its own" clause, to me, reads as a wholesale replacement. Then, the replacement value loses its printed suits.
  16. She's a bit bland but I like her. I think the Lay Down and Nap penalty is a bit over-hyped. At worst you're losing 1 AP, and she can give herself Reactivate to mitigate that. Most of the time I see myself using Take a Bite more often than not anyway. The ability to just slowly wear down models while tying them up in engagement seems really attractive for things like Turf War and Reconnoiter, etc. Personally I like that they added her to the restrictions on Saddle. 11ss is highly expensive, but you can now ride around on your own personal tank. I like that
  17. OK, so it seems our ruffian has gained a few boosts: 1.) Wp boosted from 5 to 7. 2.) Knife gains the Sic 'em, Girl! trigger and the built-in suit needed for it. 3.) Pepperbox loses 2" of range but gains a icon on moderate damage and the Sic 'em Girl! trigger as well. Personally, I think these are pretty excellent changes. The Wp buff very simply boosts his flavor of being too dumb to be scared, without a lot of specific text/abilities to accomplish it. It also allows him to fulfill a specific crew role by being a 7ss drop with high Wp. The new trigger on his attacks give him some cross-synergy with Pigs, including Gracie, which I think players wanted. I'm somewhat concerned that he'll out-compete Raphael as a mid-range shooter, but with the slightly shorter range and lack of Dumb Luck that may be less of an issue than it appears at first glance. They share some overlap, but they're different models overall.
  18. Well it seems that the big lug regained his Minion status as well as his Unimpeded Ability. Personally I think that's great. Insignificant is totally appropriate on him and will curtail his utility for various Strats/Schemes (especially when combined with From the Shadows), but not completely due to being a non-Peon. Very happy with the reversal. Now I'm looking forward to the artwork!
  19. Hrm, minor typo in the Wild Boar's Bayou Rampage Ability, "At the start of this model's Activation, if it is not engaged, within :aura2 of a friendly Gremlin, or within :aura8 or a friendly model with the Pork Whisper'n Ability,..." Should read "of". Just in case there's any opportunity to fix it before going to the printer.
  20. Heck, out of Ulix they are probably faster, can drop Schemes cheaper, and are just as escapable as Silurids. And for nearly half the price, excluding summoning. Ulix's crews are ridiculously fast.
  21. Personally I think that the Rooster Rider and Wild Boar are potentially underrated models because they seemed to get little on-table-testing during beta BatReps, but they seem solid on paper. I also think the Taxidermist is likely to be underestimated because he doesn't do exactly what people wanted him to do, but what he does do he appears he will do quite well. I also think the Glowin' Varmint is likely to be quite strong as a utility minion that can make it into a variety of crews due to its low cost. The Bushwhacker I feel may be a touch underpowered for 6ss, I'll have to see how she feels on the table with a few more attempts. I played with some of them twice in beta and was not really impressed. Not bad, but not great. Really, if you're looking for some minion- and enforcer-level analysis there is no dearth of material in Gremlins. We've got a slew of nearly all new models to look at. It will take a good bit of time for the dust to settle on what's good and what's not, even after the 10th.
  22. Hey Ratty, Just an FYI there appears to be a bug within the two new themes that any "[Forum Name] likes this." message appear to underlay the "Like This" button on posts. Not major, just though I would let you know. I'll probably stick to the normal theme anywho.
  23. Yeah, and I'm really digging it. Her and the Doll look markedly improved. I'm not crazy about JuJu or the Silurids, but I'm not crazy about their old models either so it's a bit of a wash.
  24. I believe that people like Ototo in Zoraida when running her as a Neverborn because of the Nexus of Power upgrade that allows you to heal 2 damage after the current Action resolves if he spends a Soulstone for something. This can be abusive with his Hard to Kill. I don't think there is a similar combo when ran as a Gremlin, so that's why we don't see it
  25. Yeah, the best estimates appear to be Somer and Ophelia in March and then The Brewmaster in April. I don't see anything on Zoraida's box leaked yet.
