  1. play marcus as master, use at least 1 cerebrus Howl with marcus and roar with myranda rather than the cerebrus, because she casts at 3 higher. I actually had a buddy say they were overpowered because of this tactic.
  2. :amen: Yep. Thanks for all the work you do Sketch!!!
  3. I think the best Master, to win the most scenarios and have the most fun with is Marcus (because of his crews overall speed and ability to ignore so much terrain). If you are talking about most destructive, or dominating, then I'd have to say... Perdita, shooting Lilith, melee Rasputina, casting However, I feel the hardest matchup for me has been Leveticus. I usually play Marcus or Pandora.
  4. yeah. I probably shouldn't have started writing it when I did. Had to pick up my wife at work, so I had to cut it a little short. It was actually a really close game. thanks for the words...
  5. "Listen to me." Marcus whispered to his crew. "Ramos was very clear on where the bag would be. We are in and out. Make sure the device is disabled and then withdraw." 4 silent shapes moved through the mine covering great distance at speed. Walls were leapt, rubble and other marsh completely ignored. Myranda led the way simply scaling terrain as she encountered it. Her Cerebrus right by her side, leaping small buildings and rubble with ease. The giant snake was slightly more ponderous. He slithered around the broken walls, and mining carts. All the while tasting the air with his tongue, sensing his next meal, deep in the mine. The Viktorias had arrived looking to take control of the mine and hold it until reinforcements could arrive from the Bayou. Their slow and methodical approach was in stark contrast to the slightly erratic, blindingly fast approach of the beasts they hunted. It was to be a good battle. A close quarters fight in the dark against any foe might favor the melee master. But she didn't count on her crews fear manifesting itself at the most inopportune moment. From impossibly near, she heard an ear deafening howl. Her blood ran cold as did the rest of her minions and even her sister. Marcus was asserting his dominance and his claim to this area, and voicing it through the reverberation of his howl. His beasts were empowered, Myranda stepped up next to the Cerberus and let out an ear ringing roar. Her mouth actually took on the shape of a Cerberus momentarily, as she cocked back her head. Viktoria's crew fell to their knees. Everyone who heard the Lion's Roar ran screaming. They didn't care anything about their orders, it was purely self preservation. As Taylor fled in abject terror, she turned in time to see the largest serpent she had ever laid eyes upon appear from the darkness. It descended upon her friend. Then the screaming stopped... 25 Soulstones Marcus Treasure Hunt Sabotage Announced Bodyguard Marcus announced Viktorias Claim Jumper Holdout announced Thwart announced Marcus victory 8-6
  6. If you are playing to learn, or a straight up fight razorspines are great, but if you play all the scenarios like it is made to be played, cerebrus are far more versatile. The leap and the stalker ability are just mustard! Molemen are auto includes, and I still like Myranda for her versatility. I through a convict gunslinger in my last list, and he is fantastic. But Raintar is correct, the most competitive I have played is Silurids adnd Molemen. I prefer playing other stuff and trying to win with it though. 25 SS Marcus + 1 SS (5) Myranda Cerebrus Moleman Convict Gunslinger Give it a try...
  7. I leaned him a little to the side. Then anchor him with small rocks and other basing material. Or you can custom scratch build a base. Or you could buy one of those bases they make for that type application. Or an insert. But I agree he is not made to fit on the base straight up and down.
  8. Jackalope does seem better than essence of power...
  9. Just played against Leviticusand company. 25 Soulstones Marcus Cerebrus Myranda Moleman Convict Gunslinger Worked perfectly. Tied up in melee with Myranda. Sabotaged with Marcus and then tied up in melee. Grabbed their treasure with Cerebrus and took it to my corner. Completed Reconnoiter, sabotage, body guard (Marcus 8 points) Enemy failed treasure hunt, 0 points. Leveticus lived, 2 points Body Guard. Failed break through 0 points. Victory 8-2
  10. Hey Sketch, can you answer my molemen LOS question for me please? Never got confirmation from a badge. It is in the questions section on page 2 now. It is one of the only ones you haven't answered and closed. Thanks Pandora- I'm already looking into it. No worries

  11. Thanks for the input. I'll try a game or two without Myranda all together. Are any of you guys liking the totems with Marcus?
  12. I believe "throw another shrimp on the barbie" is the correct thing to say here to you chaps from Australia. Hey, I saw Crocodile Dundee. You all do that down there, right, I mean when you're not playing table top games obviously... :fing02:
  13. :bawling: One of the best I've read so far. Nicely done.
  14. Underbheit, The strategy should be to take out their cards. Always put them at a regular or negative flip, and keep no cards in their hand when you are about to start shooting. Use teeth to discard their hand. Sac a gremlin or 2 to draw up, and use your superior card advantage to kick them in the soulstones. If they get up, kick them again. The point is to win the scenario. You can kill any model you need to to achieve that goal. Or you can kill none.
  15. In response to the question what makes teeth competitive? The number one thing in my mind in the game. Cards. He can draw more, and he can make you discard yours. Played properly this guy is more than a handfull. Throw in pigs and 2 point models that shoot at cb 4 with range 12 and high damage. What else do you need? Did I mention he's also the most fun to play?
  16. Coolbeans! Er I mean cool, beans.
  17. I like the Cerberus for a couple of reasons. Its better in scenarios. It is much faster, leap and stalker, for taking and holding objectives, capturing treasure and things of that nature. Also with Marcus it gives you a third option to scare off their squad. 2 Cerberus and Myranda. If you can effectively howl with Marcus and Roar with any of those 3 models, you should get a few of the multiple enemy models in the area to fall back. If they fall back once, you should win the game just on that alone. Fall back doesn't activate 'til their next activation. They run away. The activation after that they do nothing but rally. The activation after that they have to use 2 AP movement just to get back to where they were 2 turns ago. Utterly devastating against melee armies. You just consumed 3 of the turns of more than one enemy model in a 6 turn game. I say Cerberus. Try him out.
  18. :peep: Hey mom, are we there yet? No. Are we there yet? No. Are we there yet? No. Are we there yet? Yes Chris, we're there. Liar...
  19. Yeah the fall back rules are really nasty when you lose 2 to 3 effective turns in a 6 turn game. But since I play Marcus and Pandora its great for me. By the by if you haven't howled and then roared to scare off half your enemies in one turn yet, you haven't lived in the Malifaux universe. And when you plan on trying this with the Marcus crew, roar with Myranda instead of the Cerebus, as she has a way easier time pulling it off.
  20. :slap: Get a hold of yourself men. The Malifaux FAQ is neither early nor late, it arrives precisely when it intends to... Kind of like a wizard.
  21. Dear Tina, Sorry about the repeated Shillelaghs to the face. I know we are technically working towards the same cause. However, you did start it. Next time don't bring a gamin to a Cerebus fight. No hard feelings, Your pal Marc...
  22. Joona, as an aside, where did you get the ram icon in your answer?
  23. Check the spell constrict. I think it gives your attacks a Crow automatically. Then you flip or cheat the tome, and voila... Triggers activate! Oh and Thundercats... Ho!
  24. He could still cast primal flame as well I suppose in dire circumstances. Plus he is only 1 and comes back when a beast is killed. Maybe he is better than I am giving him credit for.
