4 silent shapes moved through the mine covering great distance at speed. Walls were leapt, rubble and other marsh completely ignored. Myranda led the way simply scaling terrain as she encountered it. Her Cerebrus right by her side, leaping small buildings and rubble with ease. The giant snake was slightly more ponderous. He slithered around the broken walls, and mining carts. All the while tasting the air with his tongue, sensing his next meal, deep in the mine.
The Viktorias had arrived looking to take control of the mine and hold it until reinforcements could arrive from the Bayou. Their slow and methodical approach was in stark contrast to the slightly erratic, blindingly fast approach of the beasts they hunted.
It was to be a good battle. A close quarters fight in the dark against any foe might favor the melee master. But she didn't count on her crews fear manifesting itself at the most inopportune moment.
From impossibly near, she heard an ear deafening howl. Her blood ran cold as did the rest of her minions and even her sister. Marcus was asserting his dominance and his claim to this area, and voicing it through the reverberation of his howl. His beasts were empowered, Myranda stepped up next to the Cerberus and let out an ear ringing roar. Her mouth actually took on the shape of a Cerberus momentarily, as she cocked back her head. Viktoria's crew fell to their knees.
Everyone who heard the Lion's Roar ran screaming. They didn't care anything about their orders, it was purely self preservation.
As Taylor fled in abject terror, she turned in time to see the largest serpent she had ever laid eyes upon appear from the darkness. It descended upon her friend. Then the screaming stopped...
