  1. It's generally fixed with a simple "Edition 2" or "3rd printing" in the book's title page or credits Anyhow, I think putting the errata changes into further printings would be good idea- it may not mean much to people who already have the book (although I admit I do struggle a bit with both the book AND checking if the printout doesn't change it), but it'd mean new people already learn the "correct" version of the game, whereas telling them to go read the Errata as soon as they've learned the actual rules (I mean, it practically re-writes the movement section wholesale) might be off-putting to some.
  2. I have no idea if saga 3 brings any additional rules to the game, but I did play A:T for over a year and..well, for me it was far more repetitive and boring than Malifaux, and sometimes the imbalances between the armies were all too visible. Then there is the growing number of special powers and such visible (or just percieved, I am a bit biased after all). The minis are excellent, but somehow I never looked back after selling my models. It does depend on the person though, I know quite a few people who love the game.
  3. Teh big kitten. Went for lion/ mountain cat pale browns rather than tigerstripes. The highlights look a bit too sharp in the pic, but they blend well at arm's lenght.
  4. Long time since I've painted something for Mali, but here's a fresh one. Terrible table manners.
  5. No love for jackalopes? It's not like it's a labour-intensive model like the 'keeper;)
  6. My primary concern is sculpt quality. When and if wargaming plastics will meet the quality of Malifaux, Infinity, helldorado or Dark Age metals, I'll consider them. As of today, it still isn't the case. Beyond that, I have no real dislike of plastics, I freely admit it's more durable and easier to put together.
  7. I wish the sonia player was careless enough to allow me to get the blast into her any way Anyway, I think I'll just use cerby and snake against her for extra speedy-killy, or two cerbies even.
  8. my thought-just marker the spot black.
  9. You've got your netspeak mixed up, I think you meant "lurking";) Anyway, I can testify that cerby works great with rasputina, it adds much needed speed and cc power to the otherwise slow army. Molemen don't realy add anything to raspy. People like hoarcats for her, but I find them a bit too delicate, prefering Cerby-Golem powerblock.
  10. Lookit, threadomancy. Oh well, might as well throw in my 1€. While Malifaux is undoubtedly very well presented book, with the ongoing story throught the pages and snippets of fluff in the rules, I think the number 1 place still goes to Infinity's rulebook(and now HS supplement), for sheer visual shock of full-gloss, full-colour throught the entire book, plenty of full-spread art(something I personally believe Malifaux could use-the Kythera art in the very end of mali rulebook was stunning!) and over 100pages of solid background. It is a bit different style-wise to "anglosaxon" way of writing rules, but I like how it presents the fluff and rules for skill/equipment at the same time. But as I said, Mali is solid second, overcoming for example FoW rulebook, which is also well laid-out, but is such a dry read it's tedious.
  11. Obviously as we(the group) got the book and minis we tended to play Mali excusively for a few weeks, but now it's back to the usual few games of this and few games of that (except FoW, infantry on infantry=Verdun 1944, which is NOT fun, so we have to wait till one of us finishes armored company of some sort)
  12. A bit late, but that's how I do it- start with dark red, then layer another, brighter red, and add sharp, white highlights/blinks. For extra cheating, cover with glossy varnish
  13. I guess that'd be it really. Whiteout while working against sonnia, doesn't work on her crew though (mostly), as a lot of guild models just ignore cover.
  14. I did play with him a few times, and...there are casters which rely on their own skills in-game, and there are casters which are more of an addition to their force. Marcus is such a caster- he's decent in combat, he has a few nice spells, but he's no powerhouse, so use him cqarefully, and rely on the insanely fast units you have to smash the enemies in CC. Serpents, Cerberus, silurids, are all very good. Small cats I've found a bit too delicate to last, but my main opponent is guild, and they have good shooting.
  15. So, do we have any idea how to deal with Sonia reliably? She completely nullifies Raspy's offensive potential, and if she keeps her best models near her they're also immune, so Raspy's either limited to blasting poor little witchlings, or casting touch on allied models. At the same time, Sonia's decent in CC enough to deal with single opponents. I just don't know what to do agains Sonia with Raspy (Other enemies aren't so much a problem, but Sonia just completely turns Raspy's best skills off)
  16. Very nice, I like how true to the artwork the bot is. Doggies look good too.
  17. Yep, you can't beat magnets and box for any non-standard models and skirmish games. Failing that, Feldherr has a nice "skirish" case, it's tiny, lightweight and will work just fine.
  18. After first 3 games with Marcus and beasts, I think that apart from always useful Leap and MAYBE constrict on the rattler, the spells are so hard to pull of(or use very high cards for little return) that it's better to focus on killing the enemy straight-up. Cerberus and Ratt;er proved very useful in this, and I think they'll be always present in my list. Myranda is just as situational as the beast's spells due to high casting costs, but in bigger games can be useful for healing the real damage dealers. Marcus..Marcus I think should be a rear-guard character, first charge with the big guys, and then use his movement spell to bring him up to the frontline fast to finish off the wounded or kill some weaker models. He can also heal a bit more reliably, so use that. Small cats are too delicate for this, and too slow I think, so I'll be rarely using them,at least against the goddamn Guild, which has altogether way too much shooting.
  19. Pinned both of mine, AND used pliers to bend the tails into more agreable shapes. Now I just need to stop them from leaning to the left on the bases -_-"
  20. Really? I was put off by it for a long time. After I tried I quickly sold the models as the game just didn't work for me in the long run anyway, but p.5 does great disservice to the game IMO. Of course round here we regularily make fun of "cold-blooded tabletop killers" of WM in conversations, due to the page in qestion, so it speaks of our player's attitude;)
  21. for one stone you really have no excuse not to take it in most cases(rare instances where your warbands costs you exactly the predetermined SS cost aside)
  22. Who in their right mind puts rhubarb in the cake? What next, carrots?!
  23. Yes, I do think there is a small, but visible bias towards skirmish gaming recently. For the developers, it means lower entrance costs(book and/or free rules on the website, some models,as opposed to books, army books, FAUSANDS OF THEM SIRRAH! models for the armies). For gamers, it means..well,yes, much lower costs, and ability to try out many games,as their cash is not tied to one large project. I just bough some more aracnists. For 40 quid I got a really varied and large force. 40 quid in 40k would not get me a battalion set, I think. Smaller forces translate to less space taken, less time to paint, and less to carry around. Meanwhile, 15mm seems to be coming back as a scale of choice for big-battles type of games, like FOW or the explosion of 15mm SF we got last year. Another upside to skirmish-developers can try out different, innovative mechanics in teh games(like cards in Mali, or ARO in Infinity), because for some reason players expect that in a skirmish, and strongly dislike that in a battles game. The only "downside" I can think of is the imminent darwinian battle for the market saturation with so many new skirmish games, but somehow I doubt Malifaux will fare bad in this;)
  24. Oh,so THAT's how you get the fang strike trigger!
