  1. @karn, just search for 'donut hole', I think that's what you're thinking of..
  2. Yea, I missed that, most likely because edits don't show up in 'New Posts' and I don't usually read the same posts more than once..
  3. Didn't intend it to sound like a rant.. Also not sure how I'm supposed to follow a link before it's been posted..? O_o I'm fairly certain that the thread was prior to Ratty becoming a Marshal and just a slight error on his part either way.. Edit: Not really an error even.. Just a little unspecific as that thread is about both Harmless and Pitiful..
  4. Where is it even hinted that Terrifying models are able to ignore Pitiful? I don't see it anywhere in the rules, which, sorry to say, clearly means they cannot do it.. "Can my model A do X?" "Does it say model A can do X in the rules?" "No" "Then model A cannot do X." ....
  5. Hoffman VS Flesh//Construct-Grafting (Leveticus, Steamborg, Necropunks) Mind you however that those match-ups is mostly a fluff thing.. Lady Justice having the most noticable anti-something in that she does a good job at denying counters, but in the end even Justice is really most about swinging her Greatsword at whatever is in front of her no matter the faction affinity.. In terms of pure efficiency and competitiveness I'd rate Perdita the best Guild Master for mostly everything against mostly everyone.. But you should be able to do okay with all of them against anything..
  6. Yes. Yes it could.. I was merely posting my reasoning for calling them zombie giants..
  7. The stench of old death wafted thicker from the pit = Zombies A large hand, bigger than a grown man's chest, grabbed hold of the edge near them = Giants -> Zombie-Giants!! xDD What else could it be?! I know what an avatar is, however I doubt Wyrd is using any of the common meanings for their 'avatars' to be honest.. Thus why I don't think the current Hamelin is one (not in game terms anyway). If you count Nicodem as a certain avatar candidate, then I'm not sure why you wouldn't count Marcus, McMourning or Hoffman as they're mentioned to have amplified powers aswell during the Event aswell. There's even this paragraph: Every Master of Soulstone in Malifaux experienced the same transcendence. The power infused them, changing them, drawing their natural power out and embodying it in an external manifestation of their control and abilities. Which is why I think we'll see an avatar version of every Master sooner or later..
  8. Most as in.. 10/20 Masters being female? I've been under the impression all along that every Master would get an Avatar version.. :x I realize I might be wrong but I think I'd be disappointed if it weren't so.. xD Also not sure which Avatars you consider 'certain' (other than Pandora).. Or what you think an Avatar is at all.. I doubt Hamelin in his current form is anything of the like. Anyway.. Since it's this thread.. Again: What's with the zillion giant-zombies crawling up from the abyss in the end of Book2's fluff?!? (Edit: Why isn't anyone else bothered by this? xD)
  9. Override Edict.. Sort of does.. I think that's what Caled was refering to. Although the extra activation granted by Override Edict always follows immediately after Hoffmans, so using Linked In is practically wasting one of his (0) actions..
  10. Similar question was asked here: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20890 Ruling in that thread means however that you will never be able to use Empty Vessel at all.. Disregarding that (even if it's a Rules Marshal ruling..).. It should work as Mindless Zombies are placed, not summoned, which is what Voracious Rats prevents. Edit: Realized I didn't answer the question: You'd get both..
  11. Anything that can't be summoned later in the game is also well worth bringing with Nicodem.. Simply due to the fact that you couldn't play it otherwise.. Punk Zombies just aren't critical in the first few turns of the game, can easily be summoned and add to that even their low "counters per SS" ratio and you'll see why it's usually better to summon them as you go.. If you're just starting out with Nicodem though I don't think it's directly abysmal to start with the Punks on the table (if they die you can always resummon them later on), it's just not 100% optimal in terms of efficieny - but it does save you a few $$ when starting.
  12. You could kill them yourself before that.. Although that might be overcommiting resources a bit.. A Desperate Mercenary perhaps.. To kill it and heal your undeads between Decay blasts and a Last Noble Deed.. Dunno.. Edit: Super basics with Nurse is to buff the cheapest units (Canines or Desperate Mercenaries usually) and let them die hopefully taking some valuable enemy down with them..
  13. Eh.. No, you can't do that.. Only Resist Duels..
  14. Loves the Job 'triggers' from models being removed from play. But the Executioner is removed from play before the Electrical Creation (per the rules on timing on page 6 as Q'iq'el said). But hey.. This is just my interpretation - I might just aswell be wrong.. I find the whole 'killed' vs. 'removed from play' to be a bit messy when there's several things 'triggering' on models death.. Edit: Unstable happens before being removed from play and Loves the Job happens 'when' removed from play..
  15. To be honest I think it goes like this: Executioner attacks Electrical Creation. Electrical Creation falls to 0 Wds. Electrical Creation triggers Unstable "before being removed from play". Executioner takes 2 Wds from Unstable and drops to 0 Wds. Executioner receives a Slow to Die action, but there's nothing around for him to kill. [*]Executioner is removed from play. [*] Electrical Creation is removed from play.
  16. This has got to be the most pointless discussion I've read on those forums in a while (and now I'm part of it.. good lord..).. They're clearly using imperative which means that the name of the spell make absolutely perfect sense.. 'Obey' also sounds helluvalot cooler than 'Command'.. I don't think they need much more reason than that when naming the spells..
  17. Heh, sorry.. But I am sure.. Expose Fears is an opposed Wp->Wp duel, ties won by the attacker. Incite/Pacify are both opposed Wp->Wp duels, ties won by Pandora. If your Pandora friend plays it in a different way then he's giving himself a disadvantage.. (Edit: By having to cheat his flip before knowing whether he'd actually beat his opponent with it.)
  18. Really, search if your friend.. http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14355
  19. Eh... Sorry, but sounds like you're misunderstanding the whole concept here.. Simple duels are when only one player flips a card and attempts to beat a set value. Opposed (not complex) duels are when both players flip cards and attempt to beat the other players flipped card + stat. Draws determined by which model is the acting one.. Resist duels being the only exception here as they're essentially simple duels, but you lose ties.. Edit: All Pandoras Wp->Wp duels are opposed duels...
  20. Eh... She is not.. She has Martyr though which is what saves her from the Sorrows..
  21. Last sentence in the Timing section of the Manual on page 6-7: "... If an effect does not have an end listed, it ends during the Resolve Effects step of the Closing Phase." That said, Rasputinas Ice Pillars are special, they are in fact terrain that will remain in play untill the end of the game.
  22. No, you are not wrong - but if you cast both Speed and Painkillers on a model then it will be sacrificed at the end of its first activation never getting a chance to activate a second time..
  23. There's seldomly a point in giving a model both Speed and Painkillers. Painkillers only last untill the end of the next activation, so if the Canine hasn't activated yet giving it Reactivate won't do anything for it. If the Canine already has activated, then well.. You didn't get the Stimulant buffs for that activation.. There's some sort of merit to the second one in that it might take someone by a little surprise..
  24. Interesting, thanks for the update!
  25. Eh.. It says once per activation. (Edit: and even if it did say once per turn it'd make no difference as 'once per turn' means 'once per turn per model' and outside the Nurse which sacrifices her she doesn't have any means of receiving reactivate.) Zoraida herself can only cast in once per animation. Her Totem can cast it aswell however, and she can summon a new Voodoo Doll after the first one cast it, so that way you can get three Obeys per turn from Zoraida + Voodoo Doll. The Doppelganger could potentially copy the Obey spell and give you a fourth and taking it to the extreme you could also hire Hameline the Ratcatcher who can cast it twice by himself for a total of 6 Obeys per turn.. I highly doubt the effectiveness of such a list though
