Pox
just out of curiosity what mercenary models are making it into your neverborn lists? do people go to bishop with their pandora? does the dreamer love conjuring up a killjoy from his "free" alps? Just wondering what if any mercs are being used and any upgrades that people enjoy using with them. Personally thinking of using Lazarus with Collodi for some fun robot times. cant seem to figure out whether Taelor can take the Fears Given Form upgrade because that would be super... Rathnard
Convict Gunslinger with Zoraida is fun - he's really just a great option for a shooting model. I've also used Bishop with both Lilith and Pandora. Bishop is generally a fantasticly flexible melee model. His Push trigger works well in Lilith's crew and his ability to target Wp or defense both synergises with Pandora's Wp debuffs and gives you a "Plan B" if your opponent's Wp defenses are too tough to get past. Another good option is the Oiran with Pandora. She's got a good (if suit-reliant) Lure, but the +1 Wp bubble makes Pandora even nastier! There's also the Malifaux Child. I've used him to get an additional Obey for Zoraida, not to mention the cheap heal. I'm not sure I'd use him with any other Neverborn Master though. Finally, there's Johan. You take him for his condition removal spell, but he's also a great melee model in his own right.
necroon
I really like the Convict gunslinger with Lynch (NB). Gives me some much needed ranged damage and I always have an Ace up my sleeve to drop for him in later activations. Haven't tried any others by Johan looks appealing... certainly been on the receiving end of his condition removal goodness and hammer to consider him. Arkion
Johan is my favorite, hands down. He's got a Relic Hammer (which is surprisingly relevant given the number of Tyrants and Constructs running around), costs only 7 stones, and he can remove conditions. Toss in a little M&SU buffing for kicks, and he's good enough to make it into most of my Arcanist crews. (Imbued Energies is also a fun upgrade for him if you're in Arcanists. Try it out sometime - you'll be pleasantly surprised)
MasterDisaster
cant seem to figure out whether Taelor can take the Fears Given Form upgrade because that would be super... When hiring models (More often than not mercs) from another faction into your crew they can only take upgrades from the crews selected faction or their own dedicated upgrades. With this is mind if Taelor were to be hired by Lilith she would have access to Fears Given Form. As for which mercs to use I'd go with Taelor - For Construct heavy crews or summoners Hans - Because it's Hans! Killjoy - If you want to lay down your own brand of Law this guy will help you do it! Johan - Cheaper Taelor and can remove conditions. Lazarus - Grenade Launcher with Bayonet attachment.... nuff said! Also pretty tanky Bishop - Versatile, defensive, offensive... basically a mini master for the scant cost of 10-11ss. Freikorps Librarian - For healing and some strong Ca offense. Freikorps Specialist - Utility mainly, removal of slow/paralyze, removal of counters, pretty decent damage and triggers on his Flammenwerfer. Joel
A killjoy double-teaming with an eternal bad juju works well in any neverborn list, but is particularly nasty with Lilith and her tangle shadows, or with zoraida and her obey tricks. Joel
Throw a swampfiend upfield, and make sure it ends up dead. When it does, out pops both killjoy and bad juju, right in their lines.

I'm certainly going to give Sue a go soon enough. I generally only use the convict gunslinger though

zFiend
I generally only use the convict gunslinger though I have that model painted up and I love the model, but I just never have space on my lists to actually take him. Could give me a reason why to take him?
MasterDisaster
I used Sue fairly recently against Sonnia, all those cast shenanigans were slowed down considerably by The Man in Black. It was SO useful, he also packs quite a punch with his guns and his other abilities are quite useful indeed. To top it off you can drop a Wd for an extra card. He he really well rounded in my opinion, fairly tough to take out, pretty killy and offers some nice defensive or deterrence abilities. Joel
paired guns with a built in critical strike are very nice - and his other shenanigans with anti-casting or burning are also very useful. Still, its not a cheap package so consider Sue carefully.
Patzer
I have that model painted up and I love the model, but I just never have space on my lists to actually take him. Could give me a reason why to take him? For 8ss they are quite hefty investment, but they can pack punch from range. They are quite easy to take down though, so they are quite dependent on careful positioning or back up from other models.
Pox
I'm intrigued...how does dreamer conjure up killjoy from his alps? bad use of terminology on my part. obviously dreamer can summon alps without paying for them, and when one dies (fairly easy to achieve, can even use blood gift to help it out their) out pops a buried killjoy right in your opponents face. Ah, that makes sense. Thanks! I was trying to figure out a way to summon killjoy. LOL.
