Wings
That's a lovely muted effect you've got on those. And I'm very envious of the time span!
Big Ned
I've finished my Wendigo now. Fantastic model to paint, I'm really happy with my blending work on this one but I don't know how well it comes over in the photo
G3ck0___
This looks great, such a clean paintjob. Wish I could do that.
Big Ned
Here's my finished Rasputina. Y'know when you get one of those models that you just can't get a good photo of... well here's mine. Please use your imagination when viewing this camera phone picture And here's the entire crew
Grim
I love the color palette on Rasputina, reminds me of WWII uniforms.

Big Ned
Nothing Beast done. Void wretches just need their bases doing.
Big Ned
Here's the Void Wretches too.
nagash13
really like that paint scheme on the nothing beast/void wretches
Big Ned
I've finished Karina. The hardest part of this model was painting her 'crazy eye' so it looked deliberate and not jist a badly painted eye.
Nickienogger
Absolutely love muted colorschemes on Nothing Beast and Karina, like someone else who pointed out your muted colors and almost wwII uniform color choices. Plays well in this steampunk wild west setting! The nothing beast and karina was somehow even better than the rest. The meticulous shading and highlighting you did really brought them out. well done! Big Ned
Here's the Herald of Obliteration herself Tara To be honest the picture doesn't do justice to the amount of layers that have gone into the highlights, particularly the leather Edited October 27, 2013 by Big Ned
Nickienogger
I totally see what you mean about the picture not doing justice, try getting a dark background and doing a light box!
Big Ned
Might try making a ghetto-jug, sadly my phone has the best camera I've got on it and that's not great either.
bfrench
Would you be willing to share two techniques? 1) how did you get the snow to end up looking so fluffy on those bases? 2) how did you do the paint job on the nothing beast?
Big Ned
Sure! 1. Those are resin bases with pre-moulded snow. I build the colour up from light blue-grey to pure white. Then I coat the snow with PVA glue and sprinkle on either snow flock or baking soda. 2. The NB and Wretches were basecoated with GW Gretchin green (I think, it's the camo green foundation paint). They were given a purple wash. I left it overnight to dry and then highlighted them with a thinned base coat and added white for successive highlights. I kept the paint nice and thin to give a smooth finish.

Big Ned
I didn't quite get these guys finished for Halloween but here they are anyway, finishing off my Levi crew
Big Ned
I'm working my way through my backlog while waiting for some of the new plastic kits to come out so, Here's Johan The reason his relic hammer is painted the way it is is part of an in-joke around here. I've never actually had Johan do any damage on the table. This includes the game where he charged in and ended up with a double positive flip and flipped the black joker on damage. John (Darkside), the TO, was laughing so hard as he happened to be passing at the time and said it must be a squeaky hammer he's got. So when it came time to paint him, I painted the hammer as if it had been made by Fisher-Price I can see now the odd recess where the varnish hadn't quite cured properly before I took the photo...nevermind. Big Ned
I've been a bit quiet as I've been working on a painting competition mini. Rather than going for a master/avatar as many have for the comp I thoight I'd try something a bit different and went for a simple minion Here's my union miner And here's preview of my (un)death marshals for tara's crew. Big Ned
Even though there seems to be less love for miners here than in 1980's Thatcherite Britain I thought I'd share the other two miners that I've finished:-
Big Ned
My (un)death marshals WIP I'm back to my signiature muted colours and subtle highlights for these guys. I think it'll help the balefire stand out more.
