If the intent of Misery was to function like most other Auras like Life-leech etc that it would be worded without may and function like every other Aura, and would probably have its effect increased to suit. What confuses me more is how some seem to continue to double down and focus 1 rule in the book, miss the How to play section of the rule-book for contradiction situations like these, OR in the abilities rules section. "When an Active Ability come into effect (ie when i decide to use a models Misery effect) resolve the effect step by step in the order as listed in the ability. So basically the Misery Aura is in range but not in effect until conditions are met, When they are met,the controller decides for a Misery model to come into effect, at which there is only 1 Aura affecting the target regardless of how many other models with Misery are in range, I can then chose to either apply 1 damage or move it 2. Again this has already been explained by others so i wont break it down even further

yeah, I literally have him and a sorrow follow him around, with his attacks targeting WP he can be nasty with Pandora also. but yeah he and a sorrow friend can go off and do their own thing or keep him nearby. Bishop is a swiss army knife of a model can deal with most things, and you don't need to have it hang back for later turns like a rider

I've used both Laz, and Bishop with Titania and QC to great effect.

Personally, Barbaros, Sorrows, The Triplets (Lelu Lilitu and Tuco) Nekima, Mature Neph, Silurids, Waltgeist, Insidious madness, Primordial Magic, Lazarus, Gluttony, Lust, Envy and Doppelganger are all models that compliment Titania's box Crew. she can run without other Fae models but Try to keep it to a minimum of no less than 2 Fae.

As someone who has every single NB models, you have to understand that what is considered viable is purely up to the individual. each model has its strengths and weaknesses and when a model is continually used incorrectly by many it is often then incorrectly commented on as being weak or OP depending on the situation. based on your list in the OP depending on what you feel should be improved kind of shows me how you either play with those models or believe how you should use them, so rather than change the models. have you considered changing how you approach their use? moving on to what you believe could be cuddled, I feel you have not really taken into account what other factions are capable of. I can't see how any of those models listed could be causing issues. I mean the Doppelganger, initiative cheating is not the sole reason she is taken often. and the cheat is a lot tamer compared to when she used to cause + flips on the initiative. The rest on the list also don't require adjustment.

Simply put player problem, not the model. I don't mean that players who can't work her out are bad, but rather there is a way and a style some models are best played and not everyone enjoys that style. A lot of the models with Neverborn more than any other faction are finesse models. In that, they require a lot of creative play to get the most out of them. Sadly given how long I have been involved with this game, the trend for player direction leans more to whatever is the most simple and obvious. the most killy or something else that is straightforward. I see so many fantastic neverborn models, in particular, get such a bad wrap from the online community because of this. There are plenty of threads about the models themselves so you should know which ones. and after watching how some use them it becomes far more obvious that the model isn't poor but rather it has been used poorly by the player. The only issue I see with Vasilisa other than her sculpt looking like a genderswapped Dr Doom is that she has been relegated by many to only be used only by Collodi yet she is also brilliant in a Pandora or even Zoraida crew. The only way I've been successful in changing one's opinion on how a model performs is by example. once they see first hand how she performs in the hands of a player know knows how to get the best out of her then they may start to look at the model differently.

I really need to get home from the usa to finish my fae tactica post, bit for QC the masses will use it for nekima, however there are far better options depending on what you need done, my persona faves are tuco and Lazarus as the blasts will drop markers, the bonuses applied to rogarou make them a real thorn as well as teddy, heck for a laugh i had it on tannen for a game.

The problem with alot of the neverborn models, is they are not blunt instruments and require more creative thinking to get the most out of the models, Young are great for collect the bounty as you can double dip the points with young if played correctly. For a growth direction it comes down to how the player behaves. If the play the crew with the primary focus of getting as many mature out asap then you will lose as your scoring potential is distracted. However if you go in with the mindset to score vp and treat any growth opportunities as a bonus we then it's just as strong and viable as any list. To sum up players themselves have more impact on list viability than the list itself.

The bandersnatch is a ton of fun, the more you think outside of the box with it the more use you will get, I mean the shenanigans with a bandersnatch and 2 rogarou making the most our of thier pounce, Or from a game I had against Misaki, where it jumped inside Misaki, attacked Yamaziko, who thought Misaki attacked her and hit Misaki back killing her... Priceless.

Neither sorrows or Iggy need any upgrade, I mean sorrows do have one called depression. I feel both models require a little more finesse to get the most out of the models that many seem willing to do, And with the amount of wp duels a fae crew can generate, I believe as more grasp how they work and get the most out of them without getting them removed easily. You will see more and more on the table more often

Not so, It is actually possible to play both Dreamer and Levi with that scheme in the pool and not give away the VP and not cripple the master in any way. I know the last tournament I was in I never needed to bury Dreamer at all. I know it can be done with Levi also. the reason for the change in GG2016 was in its previous incarnation. it was impossible to get VP for Levi in an assassination situation, which was unfair for opponents as it put them in a situation where they had not choice or control with it in eliminating a scheme they could otherwise score with. Now this puts the choice in the hands of the Levi player as every other scheme does, you feel you can't play Levi well enough not to give up VP automatically, then use a different master for the round. The change was well done considering possible options. not only that the detailed explanation on the design intent of the master and how the changes keep in line and even follow it even closer. given the overwhelmingly positive feedback result compared to the 1-4 sour grapes that feel they have had their toys taken from them, should try it at least or try a challenge and not walk the easy road for a change.

Blasts actually count on Pandora'a self harm and loathing if in the damage track, that is game changing right there for her

If rolling with Pandora and I need more actions I will mimic magical extension off the poltergeist, enabling me to cast one of Pandora's actions, :-P usually my doppelganger has retrobutions eye, so a doppelganger casting self harm/ loathing is fun having the damage ignore armour even better

Hopefully the last of my December crew, to paint for a while here is the missing totem from the other pics as well as my practice piece, its the LE performer I used a test model for colour blend before used on snow, what I intend to do is finish the model off and use as my ice dancer. her ice skates were kindly donated by a Dark Eldar who had no use for his daggers, once i finish her That is it and moving onto either Ramos or Kaeris,

Wow its been ages since i posted here, but anyway time to add to it, This year has been a challenge as I have decided to move to a new faction away from neverborn (i feel so dirty) and so have been working on my Arcanists. and with 3 crews down so far. Colette, Proxy Iron sides, and Raspy. who is next i cant decide. so some WIPs starting with some bases, the base inserts are from a place called Iron halo, they are from thier Deus-ex Machina range. and really suit my models well i plan to use this an a majority of my Arcanist models. some actual models now this was taken back in may hours before i packed to flyout to USA to kick ass in Califaux. It is the first two crews i completed. Colette and Ironsides. showgirls and some sundries, including a December Acolyte sneaking in, I got called all sorts of names for using him but I pointed out that I am only using one of them at least. And my Ironsides crew, at the time the actual crew was not available so I cobbled some together and got a crew 3d printed, while i got the whole box crew produced in that way I only needed Toni and 2 mages for the trip. they were a big hit by those that saw them first hand. and kind of a shame i have to replace them with legit ones eventually. this is a pic i took in the US with the custom display bases i made for them as well as my 3rd place trophy (was on top table last round but ties the game ) oh and speaking of third place i entered a model in the Draconic Awards and took out another third place back to Arcanists just finished today was my Raspy crew, i plan also to take pices of the others like this one and will update at a later date. enjoy hmmm what master to do next I wonder..

I think there are a few of us in the same boat from our local scene Kadeton, Rathnard just brought this to my attention so I thought I would jump on here and add my thoughts, As I am the primary Neverborn player in our group at the moment, I started to have similar thoughts looking at some of the stuff from other factions I have some still shrink wrapped from gencons 2 years ago. But I have been heavy Neverborn at least competitively since Malifaux creation. Just before 2e was announced I had thought about branching into outcasts, hence at the time if you remember I often asked you questions about the Vicks or Von Shill, but then 2.0 dropped and I went back to my NB. Since returning from the Califaux event, I discovered that (A) though various prize boxes I have all the Arcanist boxes and ( when I faced Marcus and Collette crews they seemed to scratch that itch for me, as neverborn for now at events its like auto pilot just going through the motions. The only thing keeping me there for now is coming up with lists that are bizarre they should not work but surprise me (wicked dolls OMFG) and now my final gencon order has arrived I can bust out Lucius. But definitely in the New year i'll be looking at Arcanists now. even now I'm mixing up some silly things like having Ramos with an ice golem throwing electrical creation grenades and what not. reasons for not the others, Outcasts, while I have Von Shill, Vicks, Tara, Levi I still need to purchase a lot more hence why they slipped to 3rd option. Gremlins, just Somer, may pick up a few for fun, but the assembly has kinda peeved me enough to not be in a hurry for these Guild, I thought about these too as I have Sonnia, Lady J, Perdita (sort of) and locally they are under represented, but they are bland and from what I have seen are often one trick ponies, compared to the flexibility I can get with my NB I would fall asleep at the table playing them Ressers, won't touch them full stop, they don't interest me at all though for a while molly did, Locally we are resser heavy, or should I say Seamus heavy. while I do own some resser models its purely as options for Tara or Levi. 10T, I do have a few of these crews just cant make my mind up about them most I play as there other faction, and Misaki is off in a far away land at the moment, So yeah Arcanists for me, not sure what to recommend you though I could say neverborn just to see if you come up with something new that I haven't thought of or already tried.... so I can assimilate it for my greater good.

So now I have put Real life on hold for the moment a bit of an overdue update. First I finished this. had a bit of drama with this finishing up as the clearcoat I used was not what I normally used as I had run out and I just had to be lazy and use what was there. as a result it reacted causing some bleeding in the pigments. I salvaged most I could, with what I could not only appear in close up photos. Next, after Mako started a thread on freehand participation, I took the opportunity to take part improve my confidence at freehand on minis. This was what I did for the activity. Coming away from this, I decided to try something more malifaux orientated. So my next mini for free hand was Barbaros. I chose him as while I was base coating him I noticed that one thing that hand sculpted metal cast has over the CG plastics is detail definition. On Barbie what was frustrating for me was the lack of muscle tone which would result in having to paint on details exaggerating the muscles. To break this up I decided to add glowing tattoos to his skin, which I then started to darken to create a contrast. this was the result.

Depends on how cartoony you want that to look Webmonkey, You could change it to a deeper auburn, more a natural colour that red foxes (in my parts) seem to be or flip it completely and opt for a white arctic fox. Auburn will contrast better but the arctic wont draw the eye away from her gown.

Ok here it is done for me. don't mind the other parts of the model I have base coated and starting to redo, All I did for the final stage, was apply my "shadow wash 3" which is a custom wash I made in bulk, I actually have 5 different versions that I use depending on the colour I am shading or the mood I want to apply to the model. My number 3 is basically a dark navy, though I did add a touch of red to pull it closer to purple but not enough to change it completely As I wanted to shadow of the white to be a cool white not a purple. This pic I moved the light source and camera back a bit and you can see the contrasts in the shading better. I'm an ok painter, but crappy photographer

lol yeah beat me to the punch, Is what I was visualising, It creates the illusion of depth on an other wise flat surface. I could go on and add further details to make it look embroided on etc but I am trying to keep it simple.
