SpiralngCadavr
I don't tend to put up stuff from other lines here, but I'm quite proud of this guy (with notes)
Requirement
Even though he isn't from the Wyrd line, I think it is quite all right to be proud of that piece of art.
SpiralngCadavr
Thanks! Yeah, painting Wyrd minis really gave me a good feel for OSL, which in turn got me blending a lot more competently in general, like with this guy. SpiralngCadavr
A couple more ressers, based on TTB conversions (notes)
Viruk
Great work, I particularly like your take on Punk Zombie. I've also recently started working on TTB sets and they're great - so much potential in them. I'm currently working on Tuco, Lelu, Lilitu and Witchling Handles
zFiend
Ah really well done again. The terminator is great. The punk zombie is that? It's great anyway. Good pose. Keep it up, I really like seeing your work a lot.
SpiralngCadavr
Thanks, Viruk, looking forward to seeing what you do with them (I don't remember seeing any yet?). I'm looking at doing my own Tuco and Handlers, but I'd never considered the twins. Zfiend, thanks on the termie, and yeah, she's a punk zombie. She's for my more western crews, while one of the stock ones is getting a TT treatment and I'm not sure what I'll do with the other two poses- probably urban. zFiend
Can't wait to see them.
SpiralngCadavr
Next up, some re-done witch hunter minis, from IDK how many pages back- I've always had trouble painting my witchlings, hoping this version will stick. zFiend
The Blades are absolutely amazing! Really good job on those. Also the runes on the hoods look great. Also that Samael really looks as rugged as he should. All in all, again I am happy that I popped in.
SpiralngCadavr
Thanks, the blades are actually the only part of the originals that have survived through the 2 repaints (so obviously I liked them, too). I wish I had the new Sam model (and might eventually get the new boxed set for the nicer sculpt of Sam and more Witchlings), but had fun trying to make a kind of light-weight looking model more serious. Math Mathonwy
That is one of the best Sams I have seen! Very nicely rugged and super characterful. A very definite improvement over the previous one. The model has a certain effeminate quality to it that's somehow a tad weird but you got rid of it completely with this new look.(Here's a link to the previous versions for anyone curious, btw:http://wyrd-games.net/community/topic/86521-scs-new-malifaux-painting-thread-post-switch-to-white/?p=705775
Linus Mcmold
Love the new Witchlins'! Math Mathonwy said it the best about your Samael. Best one I've seen so far.
lusciousmccabe
Those witchlings really remind me of Ringwraiths. Don't know if it was intentional but it's still a really cool look.
SpiralngCadavr
Thanks, everyone! Math, you nailed what I was trying to fix, and thanks for including the ling. Luscious, heh, I wasn't trying to, but there's a decent chance that was rattling around in my subconscious. Next up: More Mei Feng guys (notes including a few thoughts on race). Also, they're part of my second M2e tactics writeup (on Mei, of course)
SpiralngCadavr
...And a sketch of him, too. In the style of my recent comics illustration work. (Notes)
Sybarite
Oh nice Kang! Both mini and sketch!
zFiend
Had they only used the pose from your sketch though.. Great job once again!
SpiralngCadavr
Thanks! I'm eventually hoping to get another Kang (somehow... really would rather not chew up my painted one) to try out that pose, since I think his standard one is a bit static, as a number of their early plastics were. SpiralngCadavr
Quite happy with how this set is coming along (notes)
zFiend
Really digging them as always. Especially Lynch, you really nailed it with the suit and the beard is top notch. Keep them coming!
SpiralngCadavr
Thanks! Yeah, felt like Lynch has been one of my best pieces, recently.
Machiavelli
I second that with the Lynch. The purple waistcost and flourishes on the suit really make him stand out from other Lynch's. Give some good character to an already characterful model.
SpiralngCadavr
Thanks! The rest of the crew's just about done, too, with the direction largely inspired by how Lynch turned out.
zFiend
Thanks! The rest of the crew's just about done, too, with the direction largely inspired by how Lynch turned out. Well what are you waiting for then? Post them up right now!
