Soundwave
Yeah, it's another one of those Dark Debts painting threads. But a thread can only contain so many dapper hats, so it had to get a separate one from my Seamus thread. First up is Mr. Graves, everyone's favourite bouncer! For some reason the varnish forked stuff up a bit, but yeah. I'll hopefully post more soon, as I just haven't had the time to snap any photos of the stuff that's painted. Omenbringer
Really like the bloody knuckles (Guess he hasn't watched Roadhouse and learned about Roundhouse Kicks). The Bearskin rug is a nice touch as well.

Depleted Back The touch of a Depleted burns whatever it touches, so I figured that would go for its feet as well.

Many thanks, man! I've noticed that the models got a bit "flakey" from the varnish, and it bothers me to no end. Army painter matt varnish might get phased out in favour or something that doesn't make the models look like they just came out from a heavy snow storm. :| Looking good! Dammit we need to organize a Swedish tournament soon so I get to see all this goodies in person! I've hosted a bunch already, you just need to attend them! Besides that, I'm thinking Gothcon would be a nice opportunity. Or that thing in Uppsala in febuary...
Cassarus
Uppsala is a bit of for me, I was thinking on organizing something for Lincon. But Gothcon always works to. Maybe we could do it together? Would be easier to gather the terrain. ^^

I've personally never been very involved in Gothcon, but I know some people that are, so it couldn't be that hard to organize something. Some cooperation would be awesome though, and I think a thing like Gothcon would be a nice way to gather up a lot of the swedish Malifaux crowd. Cassarus
I know a fair bit of the Gothcon people, I've worked allot at that con. But maybe we should take this by mail, or on fb?

The Bearskin rug is a nice touch as well. ^Agreed! Very nice! (though the best part of roadhouse was when swayzee ripped that guys throat out and threw him into the pond) BTW, where did you get that bear skin rug base from? ---------- Post added at 10:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 AM ---------- I've noticed that the models got a bit "flakey" from the varnish, and it bothers me to no end. Also wanted to mention that your black highlights in the pants are well done.

No, the answer is humiliatingly obvious, I'm afraid. 40mm Orphanage inserts.
Omenbringer
If your spray varnish is "frosting" then you are more then likely spraying outside the Humidity range of the aerosol. Good news is you may still be able to save them. Spray them again with a gloss varnish (I would recommend doing this insode the house vice outdoors as the humidity is likely to be much lower) then place the model under some hot painting lights (Incandescents and about 3-4" away from the model). This will "bake" the varnish a bit and usually burn the moisture off. Follow this up with a Matte coat (Testors Dull Coat is very good) to dull the shine. The other option is to use a brush on varnish (though you will need to thin it so as not to leave brush strokes). Yeah, humidity is being naughty this time of the year... Tuco finished though, in a fashionably cosplaying sense! I decided to get rid of the claws and horns, though, and go for a more sublime look, to better match my Dark debts crew. A very minor conversion, but nevertheless it feels like it made all the difference. Lots of Tuco pics, since the man doesn't have a bad angle, unlike the rest of us:

Therril_83
Really awesome models! I especially like the touch of the burned footprints, that's a superb detail which I might shamelessly steal if I ever paint my depleted up. Though they are far down the line since I don't tend to take them because I think they suck, but that's a totally different topic If I may also comment on the topic of a swedish tournament or something, me and a handful of friends are regular visitors (although not so much participants) of Lincon so if anyone organized anything there, we would definetly be coming. That's actually where we picked up Malifaux from, in 2011.

That's actually where we picked up Malifaux from, in 2011. Oops, sort of never got around to replying. Thanks, anyways! You're free to steal whatever you want. Hoping for some larger tourneys next year, prodding around to get something on Gothcon at least. Anyways! …As I crossed to the opposite side of the street, I ran into a well-dressed man in a gray suit and top hat, with a neatly trimmed black beard. “Sorry,” I nodded. “Didn’t see you there.” I started to walk around him. He held out a gloved hand. “No need to apologize. It’s quite a dark night out tonight. But before you go, do you mind me asking, what brings you out? Are you looking for something? If you are, I believe you will be able to find it in the Honeypot”… -The Rising Sun, from Malifaux – Storm of Shadows From being more or less finished for a great while, he’s finally all finished – everyone’s favourite card shark and casino owner, Jacob Lynch. Now, due to…limitations in the plastic, his supposedly so bearded face ended up being pretty smooth, but who cares. He’s got the Magnum-’stache. Also, I didn’t care for the skeleton on his original model, so off he went in favour for some more cards. Always an ace hidden up his sleeve, that cheating bastard. Mr. Goggles
I really like the cards in the smoke/magic puff. The ace up the sleeve (as corny as that is) is a really nice touch.
Soundwave
Up pops the devil! Hungering Darkness, Lynch’s really special friend. The model’s not… that hot, but it’s not that horrible as people has made it out to be either. Most models grow on you once you paint them up. And fill in those godawful gaps with greenstuff. I went with the weird swirly eyes, that I’ve seen some people do so far. It just fits him so great, and it’s hard to make those big eyes look pretty otherwise. Gave mine a lil’ antenna too, since he reminded me so much of an anglerfish anyhow. Eyes and “angle” are coated with gloss varnish, but that’s hardly noticeable on the pictures. Concept: Reality: Oh and smokin’s bad mmkay?
