African painting diary

Hi guys

So I am originally from South Africa, but spend most of time in Nigeria for work. I am also a co-owner in a gaming store in SA. So I discovered Malifaux and decided to bring Malifaux to the store.

The game is starting to pick up, I brought in one of each box set as a test and most of them sold within two weeks. So looking forward to some more SA photos coming up in the near future.

I started by painting up a Redchapel gang for the store. Also going to do a Lady J set soon.

Hey Wyrdsters

I have been working on some bases for the Lady J boxset that I am painting up for the store. I wanted to add some wooden floor boards with some sort of dirty outdoor sand look. The problem I was facing was cutting wood to fit the circular bases.

After a little pondering I remembered that I had bought some instant mould that I wanted to try, so here are the results.

So I started with by buildng a master to mould from, it is a little larger than a single base. It is made from those ice-cream stick sort of things.

He you can see the green stuff sitting in the instant mould next to the master.

Here they are cracked out of the moulds.

After cutting them to shape to fit the bases.

Added the sand.

Needed to add this shot - the beer is a big support when painting.

A close up so you can see some of the detail.

With paint and details added. I am not sure what those "Bright spots" are. They don't exist on the model, perhaps the light was catching some plastic in the grass.

Let me know what you think.

Hoping to get the Lady J lot done up by the end of the weekend or so.

Thanks Zimme. Almost done with the Death Marshalls and co, so hopefully some pics tonight.

EDIT:

The pics aren't the greatest, but I am currently working in Lagos and my camera is back home in Joburg.

Greetings all

Life has been rather hectic of late, so I have been a little scarce online.

But I have been painting like crazy. Got some Arcanist and Neverborn crews to show...but for tonight I will only reveal Old Saggie $$$$$$$$ as I am saving Old man Ramos for last.

So without further delay:

I have 3 Fire gamen to paint and then I need to do some more shopping.

I reckon Ramos Avatar, large Spider or two and maybe the Soul Stone Miner.

Greetings all

Been painting various projects...not so much Malifaux. But that is changed.

Sorry, Omenbringer I haven't mastered the lighting just yet. But hopefully slightly better. Got some ideas for a lightbox that I need to try out.

Enough babbling!

The next batch of Malifaux to hit my painting station:

Waiting for the bases to dry so I can paint them up.

Hope you enjoy.
