Fading Memory
Was there ever a day when models and stat cards where not packaged together (or stat cards did not exist)? I heard someone say this and am wondering if it is true.
Omenbringer
Yes there was, Wyrd started out selling just miniatures and sponsored painting competitions as I recall. The game developed from that after a few years (and probably a growing number of models). Edited February 15, 2012 by Omenbringer
Iron Heel
Yes that is true for Wyrd figures. I think that first time I saw stat cards with a model was for Chainmail in 2002 (which quickly became revamped into the D&D minis game). These were out for about a year before Warmachine which popularized stat cards immensely.

I heard someone say this and am wondering if it is true. For miniature games in general, Wyrd miniatures, or Malifaux? For mini games in general, there are many games that still don't use stat cards. For Wyrd, they started just making miniatures, but none of those have any rules in Malifaux other than as special scenario models. For Malifaux, no they have always included stat cards. Spiku
Were Malifaux models released under the Malifaux brand before stat cards, or was it all Wyrd models separate from Malifaux when Wyrd was just Wyrd?
Serigala
A lot of the Book 1 models were released by Wyrd, before the game Malifaux existed. The game took advantage of the disparate groups of models they had already released, bringing them together in Factions, and subsequently releasing new models (and the already released models) with cards. Many of the first release cards (V1) have since been errata-ed, and the V2 cards for most of Book 1 can be downloaded from the Wyrd site. Cadilon
It was just Wyrd. Check out the internet Wayback Machine and search for www.wyrd-games.net. You'll see about a dozen familiar faces that were just sold under the 'Wyrd Miniatures' brand. Of course these would not have come with stat cards as the game wasn't out yet. diehard
I bought Lilith and the Nephilim when they were first released, and no there were no cards. In fact, not even a clamshell, just came in this little white cardboard box with the Wyrd logo stamped on it. Also, came with four of the Tots. Guess I'm going to have to get the cards now, eh?
