  1. I generally don't like to post in threads that aren't mine. It was different for Dead Heat which caused my return for retirement because I thought it a lot of fun, a step in the right direction, and another place where I could try and assist with the community, though even there I kept almost exclusively to my own thread until a few days ago. I historically quit the forums due to bullying; even when I was just posting in threads from people asking for advice, or in rules questions threads. Though even after retiring from the forums I maintained sending private messages to almost anyone who posted a thread about Gremlins just to help them out. Sorry, anyway, the reason I'm posting here is because my name was mentioned, and it is indeed true I am quitting. But I have to assure people that it is not for the same reasons per se. While there exists some truth in the expressed views of Wyrd, and certainly some of these views contribute to why I committed a lot of time and effort in supporting the game and even why I was willing to put my legal career on hold in application to work for Wyrd to resolve some of the design issues, this post is not a fair representation of why I have had cause to leave; though I would mirror the expressions that I too love this game. I have enjoyed the fluff, the core mechanics, the tournaments, the friends I have made, supporting the community, the affections and kind words people can spread even amongst all the detritus, hubris and hate. My leaving coinciding with Magicpockets and Calmdown's is largely coincidence, and from actions beyond my control. I do not feel it fair to discuss the reasons why I have had to make my decision to withdraw support for Wyrd, but I would at least like to assure some of the concerned voices that have approached me given how committed a supporter I had been prior, that there exists is no life problems or crises forcing my hand.
  2. My sincerest; though thank you for the interest and support therein. I suspect we both have the strong sense of community and support of the UK tournament scene to blame for the expeditious sale, to whom I must once again express my gratitude to have been a part of
  3. Sale complete on Gremlins; updated with the Resser models from my household, I'll get them totalled and stuff some time after dinner
  4. You'll have to excuse the lack of basing; I had been making lots out of milliput but never actually finished. So I've just stuck them on with white-tack~ I'll get Jazz to sort out more this evening As you can see, I have no particular talent in this area. However those two are the same model, I've just made one hat larger and adjusted some positions.
  5. Nix: I shall endeavour to take some pictures in the morning if I can find Jazz's camera. They are painted in a rather simple affair. There is a reason the only painting competition I have won involved standing on one foot and holding brushes in your mouth (and if you live in the UK, I would recommend attending any of Neverata's events/tournaments even if you are not a "competitive" player just for silly things like that). Darios: I am afraid that I could not, in good conscience, discuss this matter.
  6. If whoever purchases it gives me permission ;3 Now go convince one of your guys to start playing Gremlins

  8. There are few wonders as can compare to the vesuvian delights behest of Neverata's execution in the contingent artistic engagement of which I did claim zenith with my comrades. Forsooth, and this, your tournament, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones and good in everything. Verily.

  10. New forum is up for the Campaign; http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?32254-Dead-Heat-Outcast-Bounties
  11. Giving a demo to the rather dishy chap who is starting Gremlins was well worth the ache in my heels~
  12. You'll have to excuse my not getting the joke, I assumed you actually had some input on the subject and I was interested in hearing it. Or perhaps I am used to jokes actually being funny. *wink*
  13. I summon a dead doxy with molly, just for the fact I can pretend I saved a ss doing so ;3
  14. 1)Begin activation inside. 2)End an activation inside 3)Enter the range without flight or float (note, entering has not been properly defined in the rules, and has been asked for clarification. Ratty was unable to say whether a model summoned, for example, has to take an instant test if he is placed inside the range) 4)Test when declaring a charge. Declare charge, fail, fallback; otherwise go forward. Normal terrifying Perdita ignores, Avatar Seamus she runs from on fail =3
  15. No. See the Unseen means she does not have to take tests to target models, she can still be terrified
  16. dgraz: Why do you feel that would break the game? Ophelia with pigs does not have skeeters to Sooey! them up field, they don't do much for her at all You feel that Ophelia with Som'er will have enough soulstones to be able to have any bayou's for summoning if you have 3 young lacroix?
  17. Whichever's models you like the look of more. If you want your crew to be melee as well as your master, go Lilith If you want your master out front being melee while your crew play normally, go Lady J If you want to do it in style, go for A.Som'er pig list
  18. Also, feel free to just kill ramos with Ophelia. Between her and the Young LaCroix, you have so much soulstone damage being thrown out a Young LaCroix is very threatening with Ophelia's Right Between the Eyes spell, as it comes with a +++ flip. if you channel the spell vs Ramos, and soulstone it, you have a good chance of hitting him. Even if he gets the same defence value as your attack value, you will have a bonus flip, if he is in cover, straight. That's 5 damage from a 2ss model that you can companion. Equally, Ophelia's paired pistols, with rams, end up with a base damage of 4/6/8 for 1wd and you can ignore armour. Two flips take your pick (useful if you flip say, a 10 of crows and 9 of rams, and you haven't givne yourself rams, you can take the 9), and soulstone if you think you can beat what he cheats his defence to. If you get a red joker, keep it for Ophelia. With rams, you will do between 12-16 damage by cheating in the red joker on damage. Equally, if it looks like rami is about to die, and he is on one wound, that red joker will do 12-16 damage, and rami kills himself =D VERY worth it if your opponent has kill protege, as you deny him the victory points for killing him. One thing to remember is that if you want to companion someone who is outside of 6" of one of your kin, you can use Ophelia's (0) to Family Tree in a model after she walks up to them. When you finish Ophelia, you can choose to activate them straight away, and then companion in more kin off of them. This is useful if you want to surprise your opponent with activating Pere in a chain while moving models away, or getting in range with Ooh! A Girl to be in range of things. All sorts of silly things. NEVER forget about squeel =D It will save your life. Make sure you realise that only Ophelia and Francois can use Luck with melee (francois has it automatically for melee) Do take a look at Pere's version of Dumb Luck: Stupid Luck. Sometimes you just wont be able to hit more than one model, so why not hit it for triple damage? I have done 22 damage (so long Kirai) with Stupid Luck before, and you also get to do 3 damage to anyone under two extra blast counters.
  19. I have no idea what you are talking about =3c re: Hog Whisperer I wouldn't recommend using the Francois Gatling gun for 3 reasons 1) Costs 1 wound per extra shot, and you have no option to heal 2) If Francois is available to ram and shoot guys, you could be giving it to Ophelia for better damage and just remove a model instantly for 1wd, letting you focus shot/soulstone to ensure you can cheat in severe/flip severe 3) you may as well be melee engaging him to lock down and shoot high with others not hitting anyone at ht1 =3
  20. Ophelia in a fixed list gives you real problems vs neverborn. Wp4; auto paralyse, or disables, and bleh. I would never recommend Ophelia in fixed master/fixed list just because of the fact that whilst she is powerful as hell, she has some really really bad match Edit: I realise I didn't put enough in on my first post. Take A'Somer even if it costs you a piglet, and have some soulstones on hand to ss spells. It gives you +Wp, +flips for vs neverborn on your crew. You gain the ability to do Wd's with your fart and soulstone to make it work. When you manifest you get to keep mosquitoes by discarding $$$$$$$$ cards (just keep one and make more, why not?). As normal Som'er, you can turn that rat into a piglet anyway, and still heal mozzies. Lets you do all sorts of things, changes the pace as you please. Even if you DON'T manifest at least you have the option available to switch up your play. It lets you remove effects too, you never know when you might need to become significant in the last turn vs Hamelin.
  21. Ophelia is one of the best starting crews to learn the game. You don't have to worry about any strange interactions or effects, and you can play the crew just straight up without much worry. They are quite intuitive, each model has its own purpose and it's not too hard to judge that the one with the pig gun shoots things, and the one giving the two fingered salute likes to get involved. Any specific things you are unsure of with your own crew?
