Armor vs. other Damage Reducing Effects

F3ARMonger

Question

Long Time reader first time poster....

Question on rules clarification on Armor and other damage reducing effects. I apologize if this is a re posted question so if someone could help me out that would be swell.

Card X has Armor of +1

That means X always removes 1 point of damage from the overall calculated damage total? Or is that only in direct damage?

Card X has Evasion 1

That means X always removes 1 point of damage in blast effects.

Example X has both an Armor +1 and Evasion 1. It has been hit and damaged for a total of 3 damage from a melee strike total damage is receives is only 2.

Example X has both an Armor +1 and Evasion 1. It has been hit and damaged for a total of 3 damage from a blast attack. What is the total damage?

In advance thank you and if you need clarification please just let me know.

It's also worth noting that Armor reduces the Damage from an attack before it's converted into Wounds. If the attack does Wounds (like a lot of Leveticus' stuff) then Armor has no effect.

This is where Object really shines.

Back on topic:

Another example of this is the Friekorps Armor which has Armor 1 and Magic Resistance 1 that reduces magic damage by 2.

Interesting question.

There was a topic a few days ago about Immune to blasts not working if you were the initial target of the attack, as the initial target is not considered 'blast damage'. Would this apply to Evasion 1 as well? So it would reduce the damage by 1 for the 'blast' but not for the initial target?

Yep, that's right. The initial target takes direct damage, not blast damage, so Evasion doesn't help. Other models hit by the blast apply the Armor from Evasion (assuming they have it).
