To a degree all the masters are still useful. Lilith is now "dead mans hand" which is a category of models that may or may not be allowed in events (It varies quite a bit around the world). They have rules, but I doubt WYrd will produce new sculpts for them. Collodi is also in that place. Dreamer, Pandora and Zoraida are still masters. Jacob Lynch has become Ten thunder only, but if you used him in first edition, then you probably have a crew for him that could be used entirely in that faction.

In additioin Neverborn have gained Nekima as a master, Lucius, (the Guild henchman) is now also a neverborn master, Titania (a formally dead queen of the Fae), Marcus has joined them and there is Euripodies, who is an Ice giant.

Is probably a good link to look at for a basic guide to the neverborn masters.

The entire game has been streamlined to give every Master a unique feel and crew. So basically everything is ‘useful’.

Rather than asking, what’s ‘useful’, you should ask yourself, what kind of game, do I want to play, and the forum whether there’s any Masters to suit your wants.

Or better yet, buy some really cool models, paint them up and have fun.

Lynch wasn't around in 1e.

Pandora is still decent but her crew is lacking.

Zoraida is still good, particularly as a second master, but she doesn't have a "crew" yet per se so you'll have to share with bayou.

Dreamer's back to almost his 1e glory days, upcoming errata may change that.

Lilith was replaced with Nekima, as stated above.  Good news: The non-master nephilim are much, much better than 1e (aside from the twins and tots; Matures are INSANELY good; grow is legitimately viable).  Bad news: Nekima is an order of magnitude worse than Lilith was, and is very one dimensional (same beater as 1e).

Everything else is new since then.

Lynch was around, he showed up in the last book of First edition.

Dreamer has become a summoner rather than a model that plays with burying and unburying. Which sort of means the same look for your opponents with nightmares just appearing on the table, but you as a player may need to use a different play style, no more just deploying a single little boy on the table.

Pandora is much less a control master than she used to be, in fact control has changed a lot over the 2 edition changes, and there is a lot less of it. (for example paralysed no longer exists, so you are much less likely to be able to just stop someone using a model for a turn, but there are a wider range of weaker forms of control).

The hiring has changed to be somewhere between normal faction and First edition outcasts in that each master has a keyword that they hire at normal cost (and also any versatile faction models), and every other model in the faction will suffer a tax of 1 ss to hire. So crews are encouraged by the game to be more thematic. Lots more 1st ed people naturally played thematic crews anyway, so this might not make very much difference to you

Do you still own any of your models?  If so the best thing to do is use them to leran the game (you can download all the cards, or get the app with all the cards for free) and then once you learn the game, you can look to see what fits your style more.

If you don't have any models still, then I would suggest picking a crew based on the rule of cool (If it looks like a fun model its got to be worth a try) and learning with that. Once you have an idea of what you enjoy, and how the game works its much easier to pick the right crew.
