Special Items in TtB

Greetings Everyone!

One of the things I loved about growing up with the old fashioned Advanced Dungeons & Dragons was completing an adventure and gaining a new magical or unique item that we found throughout our journey.  I know TtB is not combat focused but not all items have to be combat based, maybe you find a hat that gives you amazing insight into high society mannerisms or maybe a monocle that can see through the casing of metallic constructs.

TtB is very young so it's not surprising we haven't seen a lot of the goodies we could imagine up, but what special items have you all conceived so far?  One of my Fated as a Rifle that uses a random skill he has at the beginning of combat another has a pneumatic arm that has the assimilate zero action (from Lazarus).

Also, I like to print out little certificates for my fated special items, I'm using my old dnd template but does anyone have one that is more appropriate for our universe?  (or if you are artistic enough make one for us?)

Thank you all for your time.

One of my fated has a katana that was made by someone ages ago to hunt Tyrants.....but the hunter turned out to be just as bad (he's kinda the focus of my entire campaign)....he enslaved a samurai's soul to fuel the sword and he is still alive in there. He recognizes the passage of time so by the time he was found he's pretty crotchety....but he is happy to at least be out and about again even being trapped in the sword. He thinks the fated is an absolutely horrendous fighter so he goes into her dreams at night to instruct her because if someone is going to wield him they better do it right and not dishonor him....the closer she gets with the sword the more of its power she unlocks.

In game terms, it's a folded steel sword that comes with a Trigger to ignore armor. I've given the sword more and more power over four levels which I treat as skills. When she increases that skill (by spending XP just like other skills), another power unlocks....I don't want to give details because she is only on level one so far. I won't offer her the skill every session, this way I can semi-control when the sword gets better.

that's a great idea Dgraz, one of my players has a grimoire that works very similar to that, you've thought it through a bit more than em though so I may steal a bit of that idea:)

There are more specialised kit available in the sourcebooks to reward players, (one of my players has a suit of VERY expensive armour that they earned through quests and paid with soulstones, but it is coool) but I like inventing items too, another player had a choice in his destiny step between a golden shapeshifting dagger, or a small golden shield instead, he chose the shield but has yet to toy with it, so it's powers remain secretive.

another player has piglet, and some piglet food supplied by a crazy nephelim he may want to feed it . or not. that's up to him.

the assimilate and random rifle are also great ideas, I like seeing this sort of thing, the sourcebooks give us a fantastic base to stand on, but it's unique ideas like these that really differentiate between roleplaying and tabletop games:)

Plus an idea for a custom pistol! ;-)

I have something special coming. I'll get a pic of the mini conversion up when it's done.

Our steamfitter guy made a mechanical horse and he has three little armoured spider things with sharp pointy bits that hit stuff.
