  1. Greetings! Been a while since I posted an episode as I don't like to post unless we discuss heavily into the Wryd side of Gaming. On this episode we discuss Wyrd's GenCon presence and tough on a bit of what we plan to buy. As always I hope this is okay and that anyone who listens will also enjoy! http://criticalcondition.podbean.com/e/critical-condition-episode-25/
  2. And we are episode 06, it's still a bit shy but please enjoy! http://criticalcondition.podbean.com/e/critical-condition-episode-06/
  3. Had an amazing time, the staff, volunteers and especially the henchmen were amazing to talk to, friendly, engaged and obviously passionate about what they were doing. The terrain was amazing for the display pieces (though I never went to any of the demo games or tournaments). My only request would be a better way to let us know what events you all have going on? What items for sale were easy to find but I didn't know the events that were going on (such as the awesome speed painting). In the future I'll have to pay a little closer to the GenCon events but any help you all could provide would be amazing. Oh and thank you for your help personally and tell Mason we said thank you for the interview!
  4. Greetings Everyone! We have just released episode 3 where we spend a good deal of time talking about introductions into Malifaux and touched a bit on the factions we play. Please check us out at http://criticalcondition.podbean.com and provide any feedback to criticalconditionpodcast@gmail.com Thank you all for your support!
  5. I know this topic is a bit old but... Some of the destiny phrases kind of have to be resolved together so that they are a complete thought. Otherwise steps like "...and she knows..." just seems impossible to flow into an entire chapter without forcing it. So, I prefer to resolve an entire phrase and then the next one or two destiny stories that focus on that character emphasize the development from the phrase. For example one of my character's destiny is... "When your shadow is cast upon the wall the melody will be lost within the gutters and she knows." During a chapter the group gets trapped in a sewer that leads to a crypt, the fated find several murals depicting the main fated. They end up fighting an old hag who ends up being his mother (she) and upon her death the main fated realizes who she is (the melody being lost). She tells him to let go of his hate of other beings (neverborn, undead, etc) and base his judgment solely on their actions not their 'birth'. He accepts this and now is a better person. His next two steps will be chapters of the story testing that lesson. What do you all think?
  6. This is amazing Wakshaani, thank you.
  7. This is really helpful. Zeeblee, can you break down which card is picked? I thought I read somewhere that a positive flip the Fated picks and a Negative they must pick the lowest...which doesn't really work for when they receive damage. Maybe it is just my malifaux mind. Is it different for TTB?
  8. I've always been impressed with the MTG judges, with how everything is so organized and professional it makes me want to return to it. Just find of fell out of love with it.
  9. Though I am not a Henchman (I have no LGS so my application would be denied) I am the community leader for my group. If you are looking to expand and provide a good experience for the players that look to you here are some thoughts: 1) Remember you are the host, not the boss. Encourage play but don't dictate how it is played. 2) If it is either you or another player who has to sit out, then you should sit out, the community takes priority. 3) Have a demo crew together, something simple, painted and balanced against another demo crew, a great looking demo table helps. 4) Have a 'loaner' crew. Something (again) simple but strong enough to stand on it's own but also something you aren't invested in so that you are always willing to let someone play with it. 5) Observe your group and be willing to provide feedback and rule calls but don't butt in or correct rules unless you are asked. 6) Finally, always try to push towards a positive and encouraging environment that is welcoming to everyone regardless of the player type.
  10. Greetings Everyone! My playgroup started a new podcast and we were hoping to expand our listener base. We primarily focus on Malifaux but also talk about other games and have a "Battle College" type segment where we rate games. We will also have a Through the Breach segment in the future. Though we are only on episode two we have committed to releasing two episodes a month and are lining up several interviews during GenCon. Please let us know if you have any suggestions! http://criticalcondition.podbean.com (Moderators, if this is inappropriate please let me know and I will not do this again).
  11. I've had trouble finding an example outside of his character though. It appears too thick and long to be a traditional cowboy tie and doesn't have the flair that a cravat does. I'll probably just make my own...
  12. Greetings everyone! I was curious, what is the black ribbon type thing around his neck? It's not a cowboy tie (too thin) but doesn't appear to be a bow tie untied. Anyone know what that is?
  13. I absolutely love these...but due to ink and to avoid drenching the paper in ink does anyone know a way to remove the sepia background?
  14. Greetings Everyone! One of the things I loved about growing up with the old fashioned Advanced Dungeons & Dragons was completing an adventure and gaining a new magical or unique item that we found throughout our journey. I know TtB is not combat focused but not all items have to be combat based, maybe you find a hat that gives you amazing insight into high society mannerisms or maybe a monocle that can see through the casing of metallic constructs. TtB is very young so it's not surprising we haven't seen a lot of the goodies we could imagine up, but what special items have you all conceived so far? One of my Fated as a Rifle that uses a random skill he has at the beginning of combat another has a pneumatic arm that has the assimilate zero action (from Lazarus). Also, I like to print out little certificates for my fated special items, I'm using my old dnd template but does anyone have one that is more appropriate for our universe? (or if you are artistic enough make one for us?) Thank you all for your time.
  15. I've been doing that, actually in my campaign to even go into rank 4 or 5 into a skill you have to pick a specialty. For example if you picked Melee and went to rank four you'd have to pick a specialty like Melee (Sword) or Convince (Science) or even History (Tyrants). Otherwise all general knowledge on a subject is capped at 3, though I do tend to give them positive flips on general knowledge when they are rank 4 or 5. I do also let the fated change their specialty but they have to roleplay the change through using a new weapon, taking courses or spending time researching the subject.
