  2. This was actually the primary reason I bought Raspy as my second master, to give Ramos an Ice Golem. To this day I have not actually tried it yet because I was immediately underwhelmed by the golem. Maybe I will try it though

  4. Yay, now we can talk about these. Overall I think everything looks just "not bad". The Golem fits in Kaeris, but not sure it does enough to really help her out. The overall theme of this box seems like it all requires too much setup for not enough payoff. Maybe I will change my mind when I see them on the table though. For example, Fitzsimmons' attack maxes out at min 3, and only if 2 more M&SU are in range. Granted you probably aren't taking him to be a solo beater. He and the Saboteurs both need scheme markers near the enemy to get much use out of them. The card draw may definitely come in handy from them though. .... then again who knows what their rules will look like in M3E now 😆
  5. I am incredibly sentimental over my spiders. I am very, very bummed that Ramos is now only a DeadMan Master, as he is my first and favorite. To the point that players in adjacent metas say "Oh, so you are the spider guy" when meeting me. I hope that the "removed" masters are generally still available to play, because Malifaux without my favorite mad scientist is a sad prospect indeed
  6. @katadder, Hmmm... I like the Ironsides one quite a bit. It looks like the idea is use challenge aura and the Emissary's (0) to cause lots of WP duels for them to fail. Are the Razorspines doing anything in particular? What about 3 hoarcats for the cost of 2 snakes?
  7. Throw me some weird, off the wall, interesting lists you have come up with. I've been trying out a bunch of competitive lists lately and want some wonky stuff. Show me what you got! (I own nearly everything in the faction that doesn't come in the Collette or Mei box, and an unbuilt Kaeris, with quite a few mercs/out of faction hirables)
  8. Its amazing how much better df7 is than 6. Plus you do get an extra last ditch damage reduction if need be
  9. Definitely worth trying. My last 3 or 4 games with her, she has been the MVP, since she actually stuck around long enough to matter
  10. I have struggled getting enough work out of Amina for months now, mainly because she dies, and my last few games she has finally done her job. This could be for a variety of reasons. 1) I started taking her in Challenge Aura Ironsides (thanks to this podcast, had never tried Union President before it), which makes her harder to hit 2) I gave her Imbued Protection 3) I gave her warding runes once or twice, and it mattered a whole lot. Zoraida & co. trying to obey/lure amina anywhere with counterspell, warding runes, and a challenge aura to get through is real tough 4) I started focusing on her Injured Workers Act aura, something I had never used before. I was trying to use her (0) actions and Our Claims Extend (which are both still great). Combined with Challenge Aura, it just makes the opponents crew so ineffective Those that aren't getting production out of Amina, that is what I changed and I've noticed a huge difference. She's pretty much going to be a staple for awhile. 11-12 Stones for a model that drastically affects the game is so much better than 9 stones that dies turn 2
  11. As far as I know, I'm the only one who got the update (or no one on AWP has chimed in with it as well). I won't say anything yet because I honestly don't know how much I can say. But expect more info very soon
  12. Well yes that would be an issue then. Now that I think about it, my Wendigo has devoured Ophelia before, who is one of only two (to my knowledge) Ht 1 masters.... Yea Wendigo is still better than the child, but that doesn't mean the child isn't great

  14. Fair, I think Wendigo is easily the best Totem in the Arcanist faction. But the child copying strike has a higher damage potential, as long as you have another model to push the enemy around
  15. Child is great. He's cheap and for a moderate card puts out 2 more markers that easily do 7 or so damage. I can't think of another model that cheap that can do that

  18. It's obviously all situation dependent, but look it at this way. It is incredibly unlikely for Reva to kill 4-5 models a turn. That isn't true for Sonnia. After playing against the Bilz brothers in a team tournament, I will never again underestimate just how much damage Sonnia can do (granted she had help from Hoffman, and things happened that couldn't in a normal game). My 70 stone, 2 master crew did not get a third turn. Rasputina never got an activation
  19. I really enjoyed this. I play a lot of Ironsides, and my crew/playstyle with her is way different from Grrn's. I'm excited to try a variation of his list out
  20. Right. It comes down to, do you want to put 3-4 damage (maybe more, but that's pretty average for a beater) on one target, or 2-3 on half of your opponents crew with every AP
  21. You've obviously never played against a good Sonnia player if you think her damage output is subpar. Yea she takes some support, but when your opponent has no models on the table come turn 3, that doesn't matter a whole lot
  22. OK I see that happened. @lusciousmccabe was correct, a question mark would have helped. I read this as, "You cannot get the soulstone by killing your own Desperate Merc" and was very confused by that, because I couldn't find any rule that supported that on their card.
  23. Having to be in base contact might be a bit of a pain, but hopefully the payoff is worth it. Having (what sounds like) an unopposed 3 of burning off a 50mm base sounds like a fun time. And yes, Kaeris should definitely get Lampads
  24. I don't play Resser but I merc her in, and haven't been disappointed yet. Her aura is better than you might give credit for. You may not notice the effect, but your opponent probably will. Make them play on your terms. For example, in my last game with her against Gremlins, she shut down squeal pretty hard in a pretty large chunk of board. Gremlins are much more squishy when you can actually hit them twice. It also stopped his pigapult launching 3 stuffed piglets into my deployment zone turn one. She easily paid for her 10 stones, and maybe even more
  25. I seem to remember the preview saying that the Golem causes nearby models to not lose the condition at the end of the turn, which is useful for friendlies and enemies alike
