  1. Actually, 14h of plane, since I'll have to flight to Amsterdam first. I just had to bribe the missus, so I guess I'll be taking her to DisneyWorld in Orlando for her bday. I believe this would the 2nd biggest investment of my life (probably the 1st one, depending on how @trikk and me will be doing at the pubs!) after buying a car (specially if we take into account how much I'll be paying for my partner's compensation 😅 No doubt it's gonna be worth it! (specially because I'm taking advantage and I'll be visiting the beautiful Scotland drinking whiskey and playing golf I guess...)
  2. The problem is the amount of Big Hat bodies you can get with that list in order to get the best of Bayou Bash. Also any sort of ranged attacks, specially those that target Wp are gonna be devastating, even more so if Lenny is thrown around.
  3. These are a pretty cool concept!
  4. His main lost a trigger and now has to chose between draw a card or drop 2 shockwaves. He's more affected by stunned (stunned means only 1 shockwave). If you played Wong, you would understand how these changes affect him more than what it appears at first glance. The only significant buff that he had was the new trigger in The Glow. Other than that, they're extremely situational.
  5. I agree. Som'er wasn't dominating anything. Damn, Bayou wasn't even getting to podium in consistently in big events and definitely Som'er was hit too hard. Most of the Bayou players are not even finding reasons to field him anymore from a competitive perspective. Also, the berf to Wong (buff + nerf) is really leaning on the nerf part, so the only one winning of this FAQ+Errata is Ulix with the new Swine-Cursed. Mah1 untouched Som'er 1 untouched Wong overall nerfed Ophelia 1 nerfed Brewmaster nerfed Ulix buffed Zoraida nerfed Zipp untouched The main masters that were winning consistently in competitive setups were Zoraida and Zipp, partially supported for OOK beaters like François and Rami. Ophelia was winning matches, but not events. Bokors needed to fall, but not this hard.
  6. My 2 cents about Wizz-Bang changes: Wong +1 Df and Three Demon Bag is a good improvement for his survival, since his stats were really bad, specially if we compare him with the new batch of Master profiles that appeared in Malifaux Burns. His offensive capabilities have been severely nerfed. Let me elaborate: He lost 1 trigger, Severe Injury. That even if it was risky to declare when you could hurt your own models, it was giving you flexibility. The capability of dropping 2 shockwave markers is now a trigger. This is HUGE, first of all because you can't drop 2 shockwaves and get to draw a card (see Bokors after). Also makes him more vulnerable to be stunned. Losing the is definitely an overall improvement, since now you don't necessarily need to disengage to keep throwing shockwaves, however this is not a buff that compensates for the other two nerfs, because it was already mitigated by all the movement shenanigans that are in the crew ("frightening reminder", "Toss", "Glimpse of the void", "AHHH, MY EYE!", "Perfect Timing", "Convulsions", "Under Pressure"...), his defensive trigger and the fact that he has stapled the "2 Gremlins in a Ghillie Suit" upgrade that gives him Disguised . So basically you're a little bit more free regarding the activation order in case Wong gets engaged, but this is not a real buff. +1 Stat in the melee attack is kind of wasted ink on him, because is almost never going to be relevant. If at least they gave him a printed and the "Extra Sparkly" trigger, it could be used on other Wizz Bang models as a way to charge and get 2 glowys on someone for 2 damages. That would have been a real buff and not this one. "Protective Glow" is amazing, honestly, this is great buff. However, Wong loses a significant part of his damage kit, making it even worse than before, in exchange for more support that forces him to play even more bubbled. Gatreaux Bokor Obey Action removed I wasn't a fan of this action, but it was really useful. I understand why it had to go, but I don't get why not improve Swamp Spirits then. Déjà vu Trigger removed. This was obvious, it was abused too much OOK. Gained Consolidate Power Bonus Action. I guess this is the substitute for Obey. Honestly I feel like is not a terrible deal, but definitely not a buff. They can consolidate power to themselves and give Focused +1 to the model that they're pushing to without range. The reason I'm not giving this a straight buff is that it "requires" 2 glowys for it to work and it's supposed to compensate the lost of Obey and Big Voodoo. Gained Surge Trigger on Protective Spirits Action. Well, this is it, the main reason I don't like this changes. Giving shielded is counterproductive with Wong1 most of the time, since due to Blast resistant, you won't be able to ping your models for 1 damage if they have shielded, which compromises a lot the activation order if you need that card draw, which in this keyword, you definitely need the card draw. Healing Energy stat increased from 5 to 6. Alright! This is a nice buff, but it's the very minimum to compensate for the loss of Deja Vu. Right now, this puts them as usable models in keyword and thank God(!) because the keyword working is based on damaging your own models. Without proper ways to heal them and everyone being quite squishy... Big Voodoo Ability replaced with Blast Resistant +2. Big Voodoo was a decent ability, so losing it is bad but not terrible. However, losing it in exchange for an ability that they should had from the very beginning is... Well, not good. Swine-Cursed Sooey Keyword replaced with Pig. Magical Influence Ability removed. Gained “I’m No Coward” Trigger on Heroic Intervention. Heroic Intervention stat adjusted from 6 to 6. Gained Tear Off a Bite Trigger on Tusks. Demise (Unstable Transformation) Ability adjusted to only Summon Bayou Gremlins but now includes a of damage. Health increased from 7 to 8. This guys got a big overall buff, but if we pay attention, it's more oriented towards Ulix than towards Wong (not that Ulix isn't thankful!). Mainly because they lost the ability to gain triggers from glowy and instead they now can get all those buffs from being Pigs, including built-in triggers thanks to Old Major "Nudge'Em On". So overall, Wong gains more survivality while having less reasons to stay in play (less offensive power). Swine-Cursed are great, but now they're better with other master. Card draw/cycling goes drastically down, which reduces significantly how Wizz-Bang can perform and side tools like Obey or anti-pass token mechanic disappear. In the meantime, half of the keyword remains between mediocre to unplayable: Flying Piglets Lightning Bugs Taxidermist Pigapult (at least now Sparks can "Obey" it to launch someone, although that implies an OOK pick while the in-keyword Obey dissapeared) Burt Jebsen Backup Assistant (now probably, the worst model in the game after the buff to the Molemen) Honestly, I was hoping so much more for the keyword 😢
  7. I've played 246 games of Malifaux in the past 2 years, and I'm still missing playing against Anya, Asami and Molly. And those are a lot of games. If it weren't for Vassal and I was limited to my local meta, I wouldn't even had played against half of the masters in the game.
  8. Like the ones here? https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wicc6rs8kg46bt7/AADCGZEbHvyB6F13D92dM-lZa/Malifaux Third Edition?dl=0&subfolder_nav_tracking=1
  9. Great pics! It really looks like a great event!!! I love that Alphonse so much @Scoffer!!! You definitely nailed it!!
  10. I don't think this data should be analysed in an isolated way (but what could I know right, since I was one involving on presenting that graph xD). There are masters that are extremely good at certain pools and those will always have a good winrate, mainly because they're only played on the same pools (Ophelia for example is great in a killy pool, but not on everything else). I plan on update that information to be able to look more into the details, so we don't only judge based on Win-Loses-Ties, but also how those W/L/T are tied to a specific pool or pairing (maybe specific opponent masters or even factions). PS: Also, we have to take into account player skill, for example the number in Molly there are mainly based on your games (and a couple of mine), since she doesn't seem to be that popular in the Malifaux World Series events. PPS: In a couple of weeks will have there the results from the first event of MWS 2022, which could help to round up the numbers and bring another variable into play: Titles.
  11. I do use Ancient Pact a lot, and many people use it too just to make sure that a key model can ignore the Black Joker, so I've seen it a lot into Dreamers, Zoraidas, Titanias and even Pandora (directly on them) and also in many minions. Eldritch Magic could use some slight buff, but having an upgrade that gives you offensive and defensive condition removal is extremely important and impact the master declaration. One of the reasons I never declare Brewmaster into Neverborn is the existence of that upgrade. I (partially)agree on that! Cat could (and maybe should) lose Deadly Pursuit. But I don't think that would make Razorspine more playable, because they're just bad models not worth 7ss. People will just gravitate to other models that are just plain better in most situations, even if they have to fish OOK for that.
  12. I would like to see something like 3 OOK models -1ss to your list (like you play with 49ss instead of 50ss) 4 OOK models -2ss to your list 5+ OOK models -3ss to your list
  13. My two cents: Buffs: Quellers: The only way right now of making them playable is to slap them the upgrade Expert Marksman, and with that their cost becomes unreasonable. Either improve their utility or make them better at shooting by default. Stalker: I get that they can be summoned in extreme situations with Sonnia1, but that doesn't justify how little this guys do. There are 3 Witchling in the game (PF, Stalker and Thrall) and that the best is the 2ss totem is bad. Give them a quick action and more shenanigans with burning (or ways to put burning). Samael: Give him Arcane Shield +2 and ignore one of "friendly fire/cover/concealment" when targeting models with burning +X. He's too squishy and struggles to get value out of his shooting. Exorcists: False Accusation Stat 6 and printed Mask. New ability "Expert Hunter(Undead): This model reduces the damage from attack actions from Undead models by 1". They really need to get close to the action to be useful, they don't have movement tricks that allow them to reach the enemy and hit it consistently because they rely a lot on the enemy being undead and there's no easy way to make someone undead unless playing LJ2. Once they're in the fight, they're easy to kill. Nerfs: Lawyer: Remove Tools for the Job and give them a free suit when targeting a friendly Elite/Mimic model. Pale Rider: 1 Irreducible or 2 normal damages and Burning +3. Dispatcher: Change the last sentence to: "If this model would be removed this way, it can gain Staggered to draw a card instead". Which forces him to stay in place (makes sense) and limits it to be used twice a turn maximum, unless you remove the condition.
  14. I support most of what @Math Mathonwy said. But we need to be careful with Bokors. They really need a nerf, but they're an important key that holds Wizz-Bang together, both with Wong1 and Wong2, so there better be some real decent changes to Wizz-Bang. Wong1 is at the bottom of the food chain with Raspy1 and Wong2 is mediocre. The keyword also got the worst model from the whole Malifaux Burns book, the Backup Assistant. Ruffles also needs a buff, he's horrible, a never pick. François needs some tuning down for sure, he has been present in way too many lists that provide him the support he needs (Zipp, Zoraida or even Mah). Losing the printed and gaining another trigger or improving the action "Gremlin Menace", to favor the in-keyword play. I don't think Rami is really a problem, but with Ophelia 2 he has access to some crazy combos, so it's worth to keep him in check.
  15. And still, Rexiboy would still be waaaaay better for the same cost. My list of models: Buffs: Killjoy: Stat 6 in the Hooked Chain and Sudden Strike trigger. 2" Melee range. Bultungin: I have no idea, but something to increase their durability and unimpeded. Pack Mentality is just wasted ink. All the Half Bloods need something. Angel Eyes: Cost -1, -1 Wounds. No Witnesses trigger in the rifle. Cyclops: Printed tome on the action to create an ice pillar or +2 to their stat. Euripides 1: Frozen Vigor. This guy is so underwhelming compared to his second version that there's no reason to take him. One of the reasons is how much more resilient is Euripides 2. Give Frozen Vigor to Euripides 1 and at least you won't chop through half of his life while playing him. Iggy: I don't know how/what, but he brings almost nothing to Pandora and he's more of an Arcanist take. Razorspine Rattler: They need some love. Either slightly increase their durability, their damage output or give them some minor utility, but right now they're in a spot where the only thing that they're kind of good at is moving. Nerfs: Euripides 2: Hepatomancy is stupidly good. Change it to either look 1 single card or to look 1 card from each fate deck. Other alternatives could be viable, like make it work only in opposed duels. BBS: +1 Wd +1 Cost or move the Blood Sacrifice trigger to the tactical action "Black Blood Pustule", so it now has a TN to drop the corpse markers and it limits a little bit more the focus bomb. Candy: Corrupted Inocence reduced to 3" aura. Nor Buffs or Nerfs: Mysterious Emissary: Give him a for each piece of different Severe Terrain the target is in, instead of giving the enemy a . Also change "Aura of Deception" to something that is actually useful.
  16. Anna is fine, she's powerful, but she costs 10ss and she's easy to ignore. She has Mv5, if Anna is in the opposing team, just spread and don't try to kill her unless you have to tools to do it. Reducing the range on her auras is not an option, because it would impact a bunch of other models. I mostly agree that models that definitely need buffs are: Philip and the Nanny Mourners Asura Rafkin But there are also quite problematic models from Malifaux Burns: Gwishin: Absolutely bonkers for 6ss. Incorporeal + Take the Hit + 7 Wounds + Vengeance +2 for 6 ss? Can remove Scheme markers and has trigger both to heal itself for 2 (that can be used on friendly models), to heal your master, it hands out adversary and staggered. WTF? Like for real, WTF? Kirai 2: I've played 5 games against her ratio is 10ss/turn in summoned models. She's just stupidly good. McMourning 2: Plastic Surgery shouldn't include masters or even non-Experimental models, it allows stupid combos that break the game and every new Resurrectionists release could be problematic.
  17. I agree with almost everything that @Maniacal_cackle said about the two following topics: Rigour and robustness for the rules and game balance Design principles But there is another important thing that I think Wyrd is doing quite bad and it needs to be mention. M3E was great at streamlining rules, removing redundancies and, in general, making the game more accessible for new players. Sadly, this part is getting lost, first with the release of Explorer's Society and now, again with Malifaux Burns. There are abilities that do almost the same, and have complete different names, and there are new long-lasting effects that are becoming harder to remember and they're gonna lead to more "Gotcha" moments. I understand that, for the sake of diversity and keep people engaged and buying models, you have to come up with new ideas. However, the same principle of, at least naming convention, should stay. Some examples: Seems like I cannot upload more images, but other examples are: Mecha MeeMaw: Heaps of Trash Mei Feng Foreman: Hazard Pay And there are more. If we already lost " The Flaming Fist Of The Great Carlos Vasquez" from M2E for the sake of keeping things as simple as possible and easier for newcomers, let's not make that sacrifice be for nothing.
  18. Akanames are decent for their cost, you just don't want to bring them in every game. They're specially useful if you bring Cooper Jones to generate the scraps that she needs to summon. Tanukis hand out some poison, which is usually good. Healing and focus can be really useful too, but they're not mandatory at all.
  19. It's a Stat 7 turn 1, which is already respectable. In turn 3 it starts to be 9 , which is definitely winning more than 80% of the times. Also, there is the issue of ignoring the italics on Command Corpse too... So an Stat 6 Obey that can affect Masters.
  20. I played against Hoffie2 a couple of times and the Pylons can really be a NPE in many situations. Once said so, I don't think they should be destructible, basically because Blow it to Hell exists and it will definitely impact the performance of the crew too much. One of the things that is a hard pain for the pylons that they're Ht4 and Impassable, so you cannot even climb over them. Worth mentioning, that most of the models you mentioned are quite squishy, so it's pretty easy to Hoffman to get rid of them in turns 1-2 and not have to worry about marker removal. I'm honestly more concerned about Hoffman being able to dish 4 irreducible to a 3 different models per turn without being affected by Cover, Friendly Fire (or even concealment, since he gets ) or even having to flip for damage. The setup for those 3 irreducible is just too easy.
  21. There's a new version that is supposed to fix this issue: 1.4.10 ^^
  22. ShinChan

    title?

Depends if you bring a Pale Rider or not. Also Perdita2 already puts a lot of damage through summons. Doing 4 attacks with Francisco (3 stat 7 + 1 stat 8 ) is great and all the damage you need.
  23. ShinChan

    title?

Santiago would be my first choice. Perdita2 generates easily 4-6 out of activation actions, so that +1 really comes into play very often. Also that pseudobey that ignores concealment and can be used "A Por Él!" basically gives Niño a 3rd action, but adding +1 to his Stat.
  24. ShinChan

    title?

No Abuela? I've played 6 games against Perdita2 and Abuela is feels super strong. Being able to shoot with Niño at Stat 6 or with the summoned Monster Hunters with Stat 7 is just ridiculous (and built-in Family Values).
