  1. Use "Gnawing Fear" on casters and summoners (if it's a model like Pandora or Rasputina or some summoner, it might be worth to cheat a high card). to WP duels really hurts them - they can stone or focus, but this will still drain their resources. While it's in, you can try to activate Yin late the next turn - it lasts until her next activation or until she is removed from play. "The Fear behind the eyes" is fantastic against melee beaters - built in prohibition on charges and walks can really hurt Killjoy, Izamu and all other dedicated melee beaters unless they are already in the fray. However, note that the trigger only works after damaging, so if you deal minimum or even moderate damage, it can be prevented (still a good way to drain a stone on a seemingly mediocre attack). And since it's Ca, it's good for hunting minions. Yin is rather slow by nature, so she loves all sources of pushes/nimble/fast.

  4. Well, I do believe that having one event a month is recommended, you are only treated as "Inactive" henchman and removed from the official list after six months of inactivity, so you could start with having events just once every few months. Also, during those multi-system gaming nights you could give demos to anyone willing to see the game who's not yet in and report those demos. I'm sure you if you decide to apply for position in a program, you will be able to work something out with Brian, he is very helpful and wants this program to help build communities, not enforce anything on them.
  5. Katanaka snipers for ranged board control, 10T Brothers and/or Tengu for scheme running and utility, Yin for her awesome shenanigans (survivability, disabling charges and walks, inflicting on Ca and Wp duels), Izamu as a tarpit, Lone Swordsman as a Cruise missile, Toshiro as a minion support and potentially a bit of summoning (then you'll also need Komainu), then potentially infilitration models - for McCabe that would mostly be hounds and austringers. And of course Emissary. If you want the priority buys, the 3 I'd advise are 10T brothers, Yin and Emissary/
  6. One event doesn't necessarily mean one tournament. You can host simply host a gaming night, and I believe even simple demo games count as an event towards that requirement.
  7. Won a game for righteous game yesterday, McCabe vs Rasputina. Of the 17 models which started the game, only 5 survived, but in the end, the victory was ours.
  8. Using same argument, you could argue that you can never charge a model you seem to be perfectly in range to charge, cause your tape measure might not be ideal. And there's no reason to put in doubt whether I know what microns are. If my previous post sounded offensive in anyway, I apologize, as that was not my intention, and now I reread it may sound a little aggressive. Let's all tone down emotions a little, since we all seem to agree this is not some game-breaking rule we are discussing. Believe me, I do see your point about the prohibition of using same sized model to block LoS being more intuitive in your opinion. It's just that I don't agree with it. It seems this will always be a somewhat divisive issue - to some people, it seems more logical to prohibit it because it is nigh impossible to achieve, to others it is illogical to prohibit it while it CAN be achieved and it's easy to agree upon. I'm satisfied with the current solution and see no reason to change it since it is playable and doesn't really break the game in anyway - it's just a different approach in game design than the one you prefer. If it got changed to your proposal, you'd be satisfied and I'd be a little disappointed.
  9. Actually, all you would need to place a model in this way is a ruler. You would need to touch both models you want to obstruct LoS between and simply move your model so that it would touch it as well. No micromanipulator or laser guiding machine. Sure, in many situations terrain or other models would obstruct you... Which is why you can just agree with your opponent that you are placed in the right way, as mentioned before. We've been using this solution in a fairly competitive environment for quite some time and not once has it caused any issues. Playing like that is practical, effortless and doesn't block you from doing what you ARE able to achieve. Actually sometimes, when you'd have two 30mm models touching a straight wall of the building, if you moved inbetween them so that you would touch the wall as well, you'd surely block LoS. Except with the ruling you seem to advocate you wouldn't.

  11. If you count Wild Ones as 10T, then why not Count Herald of Obliteration as Ressers?
  12. Unless of course the opponent has the Mysterious effigy and pushes away after first attack. Than you can walk up and hit again, but two hits are rarely enough.

  14. Upgrade decks are there now. It was worth waiting an hour to place my order.
  15. And the Generalist Upgrade Deck 2 is not available - I thought it was supposed to be launched at GenCon?
  16. Doublepost due to some forum issue.
  17. To prevent other crew's models from picking the marker up, you can use anything with 2 or 3 - after killing enemy model, place the head marker wholly within your engagement range. Engaged models can't pickup markers, so they would need to kill your model or push it away (unless they have "Don't mind me" rule). Izamu, Lone Swordsman, Torakage, 10T brother and most of the masters have at least 2 range. For picking the marker up, one option is to take McCabe and a Guild Austringer. Once you've killed something off, you can use Austringer's (2) Deliver orders action to pick up the head marker.
  18. Not High River Monk, High River Style. It can be used in case of defensive duels - if you really need to defend against some attack that could paralyze you or deal lots of damage, you could just suffer a few wounds to increase your duel total and win.
  19. What's more, you can use Ama's (0) action to make an Oni summoned by Asami take a (1) charge... And then take (1) charge with Ama No Zako and still have one AP left.
  20. Still, essence of my point remains - if she wants her models to take the charge and die, she needs resources - scheme markers to heal herself (and she needs to operate close enough to the enemy that the models she summons will be able to charge). If she wants them to live a little longer, she needs corpse and scrap markers, which usually also means she can't stay in her backyard (her totem may be of some help here, but I don't think increasing Flicker will come cheap for him). On the other hand, her upgrades seem fantastic, especially Nefarious Pact seems helpful - I wonder how expensive they will be.
  21. Oh, you're right. Somehow I registered From the Maw They Come as using scheme, corpse or scrap - my bad.
  22. Thing is, if you are suffering wounds to let the summoned model perform (1) Charge, you're letting your Wd count go dangerously low. You have a (0) heal, but since it requires discarding markers, it uses same resource as increasing Flicker. If you don't increase Flicker, summoned model won't count for Turf War/Interference like strategies. I agree it is powerful, but I think it will require careful resource management. And at least there doesn't seem to be any Ikiryo like summoning mechanic here
