  1. The Ice Golem without help is worse than the other Golem-like models, yes. But if you're doing a Frozen Heart synergy crew it actually becomes pretty fantastic with Snowstorm, Ice Gamin, and December Acolytes helping it in their own ways. My Henchman Hardcore list features Snowstorm and an Ice Golem for a shockingly fast Golem to the face handing out Slow and good damage. So from my own experience, yes you will continue to use the Golem.

    What upgrades did you take on Sandeep? Were any new models more / less valuable than you originally expected?
  3. Question for any Wyrd staff who may be in the know for this, when will we be able to order copies of the new upgrade cards from that online print shop? Don't really want to get a whole box just for one faction's upgrades, but also don't want to play without them as an option.
  4. Can anyone give a written wave 4 overview please? I'm excited to listen to the above but can't for another week due to unreliable internet and I'm going a bit batty with all the half spoilers I'm getting.
  5. Actually that raises a question I haven't seen answered so far, what are the details on his summoning spell (range, TN, triggers, etc)?

    Awesome, what did you think of his playstyle vs the other new masters? Also, what do the new Gamin and Kudra do?
  8. That's a lot of cool stuff, thanks for sharing! I assume then that the Commands and Visions are separated across the two Limited upgrades? How are his other upgrades, the Academic one and the one nobody's mentioned? And how about Kudra?
  9. Sadly I'm running on very unreliable internet (on a road trip) so podcasts are no good, thanks for passing that info on though. How are the poison gamin? I'm surprised at the 5pt cost, they must have something nice to compensate for that?

So I'm surprised there's been total radio silence on the new Arcanist models both here and on AWP, especially when some factions (namely Guild) have had very detailed synopsis posted on their new goodies. Does anyone at gencon want to pass on some info as to what the rest of the crew box, new upgrades, and the other 3 models do?
  11. Got my order in, even on the super sketchy Saskatchewan internet I'm using on my road trip! I was seriously tempted to add the Arcane Emissary and Wind Gamin to my order (got Sandeep's box) to get Miss Fire, but the tax and USD to CAD exchange rate on those two were the price of a whole extra model, so no Miss Fire for me.
  12. Ooh, they look fantastic! I'm very interested in seeing what the new minions (enforcers?) in the middle are, and what Carlos and the unknown lady do too!
  13. I actually quite like the idea of the Gamin as his summons. Obviously we can't know what his strengths/limitations for the summons are until next weekend but it's already more flexible than Ramos which has me excited. Summoning 3 spiders for (1) is strong, but if you need some ranged presence they're not exactly an option. Depending on the range of his summoning spell he could theoretically be able to place Gamin right where he needs them, which considering Fire, Ice, and assumingly Poison Gamin give off damage and effects when they die could be pretty handy. Being able to just put a Metal Gamin for Protection of Metal by the model that needs it or a Wind Gamin in the direction you need Schemes will be pretty strong I'm sure.
  14. For me whenever I have a spare slot on my master I used to do Arcane Reservoir (I still do for Ramos and Mei Feng) but nowadays I do Seize The Day. Getting to go first most turns makes quite the difference to how many models you lose in a turn from my experience. I basically always take 3 upgrades on my master though, the only times I haven't are with Colette and Kaeris (never less than 2 though).

    M2e Mei Feng

    I just recently played a game of Rasputina vs Mei Feng and her Vent Steam really messed with my spells all game. It's one of these abilities that, when it comes up, is incredibly strong.
  16. Woo, I only need one more Guilder and I can grab that alt Raspy right away! I was a bit worried they'd be more pricey for Guilders.
  17. Okay, well with the October release schedule up and none of the boxes on it (it was a long shot hope anyway) I will 100% be purchasing Sandeep's box during GenCon

Lol I actually took Envy+IE and died 5 of the 6 rounds, ended up being the cheapest model on the board so bonus points for kills and first wounds and my initiative rolls were super low which ended up being a good thing as every time I was engaged I'd get killed and I could place out of combat again with 8 cards instead of 4 haha, even with my 5 deaths I had a score of +5 coming in at a rank of 5th out of 8 (the winner had an Ice Golem with Imbued Protection that only ended up dying once with a score of +11).

  20. I'm a bit confused as to the descriptions of the cards inside the Generalist Update Deck 2 box. For example the Arcanists it says there are 8 upgrade cards but only 4 are new, what are these non-new upgrades in the box?
  21. I'm actually quite excited at the idea of the Arcanists bringing the Valedictorian and Students along, that's a nice bit of additional list help there! I could see them giving another Ca on some of his Upgrades as well (I'm assuming his summoning action is a Ca), the restriction on Beacon of it only being spells from his stat card gives some balance flexibility there. Basic spells can be handed out, special spells get put on Upgrades. Plus, his Henchman Kudra we've only heard has "arcane skill and physical prowess," I'd very much like to see what she brings to the table. Edit: He's actually another option in Headhunter too now that I think of it - a model spends its AP killing a model and walking B2B with the Head marker. It then uses Sandeep's (0) As Your Deed, So Your Destiny, Interacting to pick the head up (just needing to flip/cheat a 5), and with a Tome you can even pick the Head up while engaged!
  22. Very interesting stuff! I'm a bit surprised that 5 of the 7 new masters only have 3 Upgrades mentioned on their pages (and Parker has 2 of his 7), I'm assuming all new non-Parker masters will still have the usual 4 Upgrades?
  23. We still don't know the exact details of his upgrades, but we now have front and back of Sandeep's card here! Thoughts? I'm interested in the idea of a second summoning master, being able to take someone other than Ramos into Interference without feeling like I'm playing wrong sounds good to me! I'm very interested in seeing what the different benefits and drawbacks given by the two Limited upgrades will be as well. I'm hoping he'll be able to summon more than just the Poison Gamin, having two masters with very specific summons would be a bit of a shame. I'm a bit surprised at how few Ca actions he actually has as well - two Ca Attacks, and two Ca Tacticals (the latter both being (0)'s, which is nice for Minions without a (0) though). Right off the bat I'm seeing a possible nice use of Student Of All letting Sandeep use Mind Among The Senses to pull a friendly model back to safety after going forward and wrecking some face. All in all I'm intrigued, it's not the playstyle I was quite expecting but I'm seeing a ton of different options Sandeep gives to his army already and I'm very excited to see the rest of the box and how it all comes together
  24. Envy and Lust are the standout winners for sure Both of them are really great! Lust and Captain in an Ironsides list can move Ironsides 9" before she activates in a turn, which isn't too bad. I've also fiddled around with Sloth in a Rasputina crew and Gluttony in a Colette or Kaeris G&D crew too, they seem less obviously powerful but still have some nice combo potential. The only ones I haven't tried outside a C7 crew are Wrath, Greed, and Pride, but Pride's aura and his (0) of no cheating without being punished can be really frustrating for a group of clumped enemies.
  25. I find my enemies have a way higher fear of Willie than I'd normally expect, and he usually gets focus fired pretty quick in my games. But I've liked him as a bit of ranged in a Mei Feng crew, and Ironsides giving him Hand Picked Men is fantastic (plus he can drop effectively a 1 damage blast on a walk onto your Oxfordians, giving them HPM too). I haven't tried it yet, but I figure pairing his Set Charge with a Union Miner's False Claim and/or Gluttony's Rhythm To Those Who Hunger sounds like a pretty nice deal too. As for schemes and strats, he wants something that makes your opponent clump up like Guard The Stash or Extraction. His range isn't amazing so if he can't catch up to the enemy he's not going to do much. However the fact that he drops blasts on Wk actions and on his death means if he gets there he'll always get the chance to at least do *something* to the enemy.
