  1. I've never played niether with or against Brewie, but Yin looks like a solid choice. Several Wp duels, and poison in her melé attack, seems like would work fine with Brewie mechanics. Also dawn serpent, for the +2 poison in his Ml7 action. Oiran could be nice too, but performers seems to be much better for 1SS more. Also, of course, Sensei yu and fermented river monks, as newsun said.
  2. Nope, there is nothing you can do, sorry :/ The thing is, 10T Archers are extremely fragile, (shamefully fragile for a 7SS model). The only way to keep them alive is being out of sight and out of reach. But, your mate will place his raptors anywhere on the table he wants. Then either you win the initiative, and somehow manage to kill all 3 raptors before he activates them, or he will activate all 3 of them, killing the archer easily (not 'cause the raptors are really "killy", but because the archers are really kill-able). It shouldn't be that easy to kill a second archer that way, but still manageable. The only thing that comes to my mind to avoid it it's keeping a high mask in your hand, to trigger Step Aside, disengaging the raptors. But a well placement of the raptors can easily deny you the chance to get away. You could also discard Blot the Sky, if you did purchased it (which you should, if you brought archers), to push the archers away from the raptors, but again, it won't help if you lose initiative or the raptor's placement blocks your way. And also, it's a shame to discard Blot the Sky turn 2... The good thing about this, it's that your friend will soon find there are... worse and more annoying things to do with his raptors, and maybe you wont have to worry that much about your archers being killed by them anymore
  3. Nothing new here, but even without a Cg, Yu still can move up 7", attack (denying Df triggers), hand out slow, and then perform one interact action, which is gold with Distract or Cursed Object in the scheme pool.
  4. Thanks both of you for your answers With that in mind, it's slightly more interesting. I've actually never used it, but I personally find Cutpurse quite situational. Only working against enemy leaders, needing a crow (which means it's only reliable when you have no SS left), with a poor Ca5, and at the cost of not triggering Next Target, which I find extremely good for Misaki, makes it to me quite hard to justify including it, especially if it's at the cost of losing Recalled Training, which I can hardly find a game where I wouldn't need it in Misaki (And I guess I could say the same with Misderection, which works quite nicely with Misaki's Next Target). Also, to make an extensive use of Cutpurse (more than one use, I mean), you have to succesful make several attacks (even more when it's crucial to trigger Next Target whereas) to the enemy leader, with some assassinations in between, which should mean the enemy leader is already dead, so no more Cutpurse... It looks like it's difficult at least to perform more than one or two succesful/useful Pilfers. Anyway, I will give it a try some day, I guess.
  5. A question regarding Cutpurse. If the enemy master doesn't have any SS left, does Misaki still get 1SS when successfully casting Pilfer?
  6. Chiaki's trigger only work on enemy models, though. It will be (too) nice if it also worked on friends
  7. A couple more of ideas about Sensei Yu (that I think I didn't read them around here yet): - Although he doesn't have a Charge stat, I like to think he does have a "pseudo-Charge" of 7", which alows him one attack and one Interact action, instead of two attack actions. With Cursed Object or Distract in the table, this may be even better than a real charge. Especially if you give Slow with the attack. - Sensei Yu with Fermented River Style and Brewmaster. Brewmaster giving him (-) to every duel, Sensei Yu getting easily poisoned, and using with Disciple that other (0) from Brewmaster (I don't recall the name, the one to give Posion +2 and push 6" to the enemy) as a "charge", then make two attack actions with (+) to everything, giving slow and/or poison, ignoring defense trigers, and getting Focus + 2 (wich may be specially useful if you also paid him his own upgrade, to stake free Interactions). It makes him a really interesting combat piece, providing you need to pass two duels, a Simple and a Opposed one, to "charge" : Anyway, I've played Yu a lot, (but only with Misaki), and the main problem I've found with him, it's that now I don't know how to play without him, which is kind of sad. A Misaki without Yu feels to me now like a decaff Misaki ("what? only 3AP for Misaki? without any pushes? How I am supposed to do anything with that? And she even has to stalk her target herself? Madness!"). Also,my friends are getting real tired of the "two minis killed in the first turn whatever you do", or the "Don't even think in choosing a dropping-markers Scheme". So I think I'll not be including him for a while, at least to learn again how to play xD
  8. I find her great for deliver a message. Nimble and 3" combat range allows her to easily (but not safely xD) approach the enemy leader and then take the (2) interact action. Also, as stated, 40mm round base and the Yari makes her good to carry Blot the Sky, with an archer hidden behind. And nimble allows to not slow the archer. I play very often against Pandora, where she shines. Once had an Oiran near, Wp8, with (-) to Pandora's duel, and (+) to mine. Woah, never seen my friend more exasperated xD
  9. IIRC, he is a noble born, with a high position in the Katanaka clan. He was a huge and brave warrior, intelligent and capable. That was, of course, until tthe accident (not explained in the fluff). Since then he needs help even for put on his trousers (thats why the mini has only his underpants on xD), but as he still is noble born, and an especially huge guy, he still has the right (and the duty) to go to battle for the Ten Thunders, but now he needs some "attendants" (the two guys in the base with him) to help him with... well, with everything. About the game play, I find him really interesting, it's capable to deliver damage easily, it's pretty tough, and Hidden Angenda (easy to either draw LoS with him and to deliver damage) or Blot the Sky (so the archers can hind behind him) suit him really well. I haven't played it yet though.
  10. As somebody who has played that combo several times, one thing most discourages me is been unable to stalk, or to charge to the stalked target. So condition-removers (to quit Stalked) are a great way to restrain Misaki's rampage. As well, move cautiously first turn, ending out of sight so niether Misaki and/or Sensei Yu may Stalk. Also, keep in mind that if Sensei Yu spend his 2 AP pushing Misaki so she may end at the other side of the table killing, it will imply Sensei Yu is way behind her (and probably from most of the action), and would not be able to push-push-fast her again until turn 3 or 4, and maybe with a Misaki too far from where she should be. Besides, most times I play Misaki+Sensei Yu, I feel like if I'm not killing in the first turn I not making the best use out of it, which sometimes makes me charge models without pondering through. With this in mind, consider "offering" a bait to Misaki, a lesser model far away but still in range of a Misaki+Sensei Yu combo, and make sure it's the only charge-able option, hoping your adversary sends her thoughlessly, ending with a drift and too far away Misaki. At the moment, those are the things I found most troublesome with Misaki+Sensei Yu Rampage.
  11. Thank you all for your help and advices! For the time being I'll give my friend some time to disconnect with the game and forget "bad experiences". Whenever it looks he feels like playing again, I'll try your recomendations, i.e. playing 50SS, modify and include some proxys to enhance his crew, and I'll try to have a better idea myself of the guild and Justice' gameplay, in order to help him better with his decisions. Also, probably I overestimated Justice crew capacities which helped him get a wrong idea of the whole game :/ Once again, thank you all for your hep! Your participation has been amazing and really helpful!
  12. Ups, sorry! Descompensated = Unbalanced (as in, some masters extremely better than other, unstoppable minis, etc). Mother tongue betrayed me there :S Anyway, thank you for your feedback!
  13. Hi everybody! Well, I've here kind of an issue, and so I wanted to ask you for help. A friend of mine I introduced to Malifaux, after some games (6, to be exact) has lost almost all (if not all) interest in Malifaux. He find it kind of extreme and in his personal experience a unbalanced game. I myself had similar feelings when I started, but through games I came to think otherwise. Anyway, I found myself unable to convince him that it's a question of understanding and mastering the game system, and having a big enough (or at least some) repertory of models to adapt to the adversary. He only owns de Starter and the Lonely Marshall, and his experience so far has been, with 50% of victories: 2 games vs Pandora 35SS (starter crews both) 1 Game vs Misaki 35SS (starter crews both, with upgrades) 1 Game vs Rasputina 35SS (Justice starter vs Raspu starter with some modifications) 1 Game vs Tara 40SS 1 Game vs Misaki 40SS In the last game, against me, I though he was "experienced enough" to play without hesitation. I played a Misaki+Sensei Yu crew, and utterly and ruthlessly destroyed him at 2nd turn (my fault, and I swear I'm almost truly sorry for that). Before that, he already felt the game was unbalanced, and had the feeling Justice was an "underpowered master". But at the end of that game he had little to none intention to play again... So, I implore you here some advice, to try to make him give another chance to the game. What should I do? Play softly and gently until he like it? What he should do? There are any kind of uber-list with Justice who could grant him some victories and change his mind about Justice "underpower"? What minis, ideas, combos, etc, would you propose him in order to triumph with Justice? Thank you all for your help!
  14. Hi everybody! I'm a Malifaux player from Madrid, Spain (so please excuse my poor English and et cetera xD). I've been playing Malifaux for the last year, I play almost exclusively with Misaki (Ten thunders version) and I fricking love her, a little more after each game. I also have Mei Feng's crew, but only use it for demos and introductory games. I've been lurking for a while through the breach the forum, but I felt it was time to introduce myself as I wanted to ask some questions and participe a little more. Greetings!

My personal Ten Thunders crew. I've put my biggest efforts painting them, and, although I still have much to improve, I'm pretty proud of the results.
