We will playing rounds open games of Endforcer Brawl, Hardcore Henchman. Models will be provided for those hat need them. Casual play with novice and experienced players alike. Have fun playing in this modified Enforcer Brawl. Players choose up to three enforcers from any faction with a soulstone cost of 10 or less. NO UPGRADES. We will be using upgrades from the campaign pack during the event. Full rules will be provided at the time of the event. Saturday - 2017 Gaining Grounds Tournament 9AM - 7PM(?) This will be a 3, possibly 4 round tournament (depending on numbers of players and player preference) Standard 50 SS tournament using the Gaining Grounds 2017 format. Registration will begin at 9:00 AM with play beginning at 10:00 AM. Full rules at the event Sunday- Harried and Hurried Hardcore Henchman 9AM - 1PM Speed Dating for Malifaux! This is a modified Hardcore Henchman format to allow maximum carnage in minimum time. Score points as quickly as possible, total points scored will determine the standings. Gaining Grounds 2017 Summer Tournament When : July 30, 2017 Where: Top Cut Comics 5600 N 2nd St, Loves Park, IL 61111 What: We are having a summer 2017 standard 50 SS tournament at Top Cut Comics in Loves Park, IL Entry is $5.00 per player which will go to a prize pool plus Official Wyrd tournament prizes. This will be a 3 round tournament using the standard GG format. Strategies will be posted 1 week prior to the tournament on our FB game page https://www.facebook.com/LPmalifaux/. Schemes will be randomly selected at the start of each round from a pool of five pre-determined pools. Results of this tournament will sent to Malifaux USA Rankings for the purposes of national rankings. Registration starts at 11:00 AM. Play starts at 11:30 with a break between rounds 2 and 3. Back by Popular demand. The Malifaux Challenge Board League at Top Cut Comics 5600 N. Second Street Loves Park, IL This will be a 4 week event starting on Friday 02/03/17 and conclude on Friday 03/03/17. This event will utilize the challenge league rules. Players will score points for each level of the board that they advance to and every time a player makes it to the top of the pyramid they will have a chance to win a prize from our WYRD prize support pool. Prizes will also be awarded to players for scoring the most points, lasting the longest at the top and other achievements throughout the event. Detailed rules to follow...

This is a modified Tournament Event. The GG 2017 Rules will be incorporated into this event. Where: Black Dog Hobby and Games 1957 Harlem Rd, Loves Park, IL 61111 When: Sunday 03/05/17 Registration begins at 1:00 PM with the first round starting at 1:30. There will be 3 rounds total with the the first event being a modified enforcer brawl, the second round will be hardcore henchman, followed by the final round consisting of a 50 SS standard game. Players must declare a faction and will play all three rounds with the same faction. The first round all players will be be playing in the same game at the same time. There will be 10 turns to this event with a max time of 50 minutes. Each player may hire up to 3 enforcer models with a SS cost of no more than 10 per model and may purchase one upgrade from the declared faction. Each player is allowed a total of 3 respawns for the match regardless of the number of models hired All models hired for this round MUST be hired in the final round of the tournment. The second round will consist of a Hardcore henchman round (20 SS with a Henchman and 4 models). This will be a 3-4 players per game (depending on the total number of players). The stratgey for this round will be extraction with schemes announced at the tournament. Models hired for this round MUST also be hired in the final round of the tournament. Max number of rounds for this event will be 6 with a max time of 50 Minutes. The third and final round will be a standard 50 SS game, with the exception that any models hired in the previous rounds must also be hired for this round. The stratgey for this round will be Intereference with schemes announced at the tournament. *Note, no scheme will appear more than twice during the tournament. There will be $5 entry fee that will go towards prize support along with additional prizes awarded from our WYRD prize support pool.

I think this a great topic of discussion. I've seen plenty of games where this sort of interpretation for movement has been abused. I tend to agree with the point about charging and the straight line point. Why is it that a model can not charge someone around a corner (provided they can see them) but can charge up a ladder? I've also seen players 'leap' their models over walls, fences and other obstructions during a charge. It would only make sense that if a models has to climb at any point during a charge that the would essentially prevent them from charging. This would also mean that models with flight, incorporeal would gain an advantage for having that trait which is why their is a cost associated with that trait. I would love to see an FAQ on this for further clarification.

In light of this ...er..oversight we will count all games played in week 1 and week 2 for each week. Here are the rules and info for the league, feel free to message me with questions. Achievement League Malifuax™ “Beware the Ides of March” March 15 – April 25, 2015 This league season will be six weeks long. Players may play at either Top Cut Comics or Black Dog. The results of the each week will be compiled and posted in each store and on-line weekly. Sunday will start each new week with Saturday being the final day of each week. Points are scored for achievement as follows. Players may play as many games as they wish but must play a different player before playing the same player again to count towards an achievement game. Schemes/Strategies: Players earn points by completing the victory conditions for each of the different schemes available in the game; this includes multi-player games and missions listed in the Cross Roads book. *Players do not need to win their respective game in order to earn points for this section of the league they only need to ACHIEVE the victory conditions for that scenario. Players will earn points equal to the victory points earned for the scenario, i.e. earn 1 victory point (VP) get 1 achievement point, earn 2 VP get 2 achievement points, earn 3 VP and get 3 achievement points. Players may play the same schemes or strategy multiple times, however only the best result for the scheme/strategy will be counted. Players may, by mutual consent, agree to flip a fifth card to play in a match rather than taking the Line in the Sand as the default. Players will still only select two options of the five options if this option is used. Players may also choose to play a story encounter instead of a standard game, if this option is selected then follow the normal rules for the scheme selection for story encounters. In addition players will earn 1 additional achievement point for achieving a victory condition for story encounters. Players will earn the following bonuses for this section of the league. Bonuses Complete ALL Malifaux schemes/strategies (this includes all multi-player games and special strategies found in the Cross Roads book but does not include story encounters.) +10 points Play all Story Encounters (need not win just complete each one) +5 points Earn 3 Victory points on all scenarios played (does not require completing all scenarios, just earning the max VP on each one played.) +3 points Challenges: Players will earn points for completing certain challenges. Players need not win the challenge to earn points they only need to complete the challenge itself, bonuses are earned for winning the challenge. Welcome to Malifaux – Play a game against a player who is (new to Malifaux)*, 2 points, lose to that player and earn 3 points. Against the odds – play a 30 SS crew vs a 50 SS crew, earn 2 points, win earn 5 points. “I’m in charge now” – play a match with a henchmen/henchwomen lead crew, earn 2 points, win earn 3 points. The boss ain't around – play a match without any henchmen, earn 2 points, win earn 3 points. You forget the gear....argh!! – Play a match without using any upgrades, earn 2 points, win earn 3 points. There can be only one... Play a 25 SS enforcer battle- earn 2 points, win earn 3 points. Beauty is in the eye of the....Compete in a Malifaux painting contest – Win 1st place earn 10 points, 2nd Place earn 7 points, any other finish earn 5 points. “Earn your keep...” Participate in a Malifaux hobby night – earn 10 points. The right stuff – Play a match against a Wyrd Henchmen, earn 2 points, win and earn 3 points. The Good, the Bad and the Wyrd – Compete in a Malifaux Team tournament, earn 5 points, come in second earn 7 points, come in first and earn 10 points. Leave it up to Fate: These are random occurrences that will happen from time to time in a game and often hard to control but help make playing the fun that it is. Each event is worth 1 point but multiple occurrences count as double each time it happens. The hard way - Win a duel with the same Inconceivable.... Win a duel with the black joker or lose a duel with the red joker It was meant to be – Flip either joker on the initiative You can try – Flip the black joker on the damage flip Epic Failure – Flip the black joker on the duel flip Never in a million.... - Flip the red joker on duel flip Don't tell me the odds, never tell me the odds... - flip a red joker on a negative damage flip. * a new player is any player that did not participate in any previous Malifaux leagues/tournaments.
