  1. Ahhh. The announcement I was looking for! Thanks. Now to use my label printer to make all the point cost adjustments. I would buy the cards, but since all the changes I need to make are point cost related, I can use my label printer. Thanks Aaron!
  2. First Henchman Hardcore event at Gamer's Guild of Antioch in Antioch, CA at 1pm on Jan. 13, 2018. • All Crews must be led by a Henchman, not a Master. • The game size is 20 Soulstones. • All Crews must contain exactly 4 models, no more, no less. • Upgrades may be purchased, as allowed by the standard rules of Malifaux. • The size of a Crew’s Soulstone Pool is limited by the Cache of the Henchman leading it; any Soulstones above this amount are discarded. • Any Actions, Abilities, or Triggers which summon models are considered to be “blank” (they may not be used and have no effect on the game, as if they were not printed on the model). • Only one Scheme will be available. • The same Crew must be used in each round of the event. Set Up All rounds use the following set up: • Deployment: Close. • Strategy: Hardcore Turf War. This Strategy uses the Turf War rules (Core Rulebook pg. 66) with the exception that VP may be scored on the first Turn. • Scheme Pool: Assassinate (Core Rulebook pg. 68). This is the only Scheme available and it must always be taken. • All round times are 30 minutes.
  3. Yeeeaaahhhh. I was going to order it yesterday and I’m glad I waited! I think I have enough Rasputina crews (original metal, new plastic, translucent blue, and now a Christmas themed one). Also, thank you for having an Apple Pay option! Makes it so much easier to pay for things. Aaron, you are awesome.
  4. A friend of mine has a friend who is currently working on the Nightmare McCabe box; however, it looks like translucent plastic and I haven’t seen anything like that lately. Anyone familiar with new alternate colors for a Nightmare edition crew???
  5. A specific question: I pledged for the Dual Commander (2 starter boxes, 2 rules books, etc). I'm trying to do the pledge manager now but when I go to checkout and pay for the additional add-ons, it only lists me pledge as only containing one rulebook. However, in the earlier part of the survey, it had asked me if I wanted to add another rulebook for $45, which I found confusing because my pledge level should already include 2 books. An oversight when putting together the backer kit?
  6. Hi and welcome! I'm one of the Hunches in the Bay Area and I try to hold events when my work schedule (and budget) allow me to. I am familiar with the WM/H tourneys your store has regularly held, but that's about it, since even from my work (in Fairfield), it is still quite a distance to drive. Malifaux as a game has grown and changed so much from first edition, and having personally known the lead designer on 2nd edition, I try to play on a weekly basis in Concord. I hope the game has treated you well and it looks like you've picked up quite a bit already.
  7. I have a metal convict gunslinger (no 2E card) that I have no problems parting with. I've tried using it as prize support and tried to give it away at a recent demo...the poor thing is so unloved. But let me know if you're interested.
  8. It's great that Halifax is going to have a digital app, and hopefully will support all the current operating systems (iOS, Android, Windows, Amazon, etc). What I'm hoping it will include: **All stat cards and upgrade cards (I think all players will expect this), including any corrections/FAQs/erratas that have been made, and changes can be made quickly to any card requiring a edit by developers. **Tournament tracking (for all supported formats), with an option to send results to Halifax rankings (if that's your thing). **Access to current FAQs/erratas (might be extra work but would be very useful). Or a link to their location on the Wyrd website. Other stuff: cost of the app and buying additional faction decks, considering many players already own all their respective the wave 1 and wave 2 cards and buying them again in the app may cause issues. As someone who has played Warmachine and used War Room (only the 1st version, not their current version), this is what I DON'T WANT TO OCCUR in the Malifaux community because of a digital app: People who play ONLY using the app. (Yes, there are Warmahordes players like this). Tablets/phones aren't the most reliable and can crash during events. I don't want to have to ask my opponent to hand me their $$$ device just to show me a stat card. Stat cards should be required for all competitive events, and even just for general play, and the app would be used as a list builder/tournament tracker rather than a damage tracker like in War Room. Because of issues of apps crashing and losing information, and then time being used to restart the device, time is lost to play and the player whose device crashed may not remember all the damage models have taken before the app crashed. Also, the current edition of War Room charged players to pay for stat cards they already paid for in the last edition of the app (Warmachine MKII), which I found to be greedy and unfair, which is why I refuse to use the the MKIII edition of the app. For example, I own all the Cygnar cards for MKII in War Room. In MKIII, I would have to re-purchase them. I wasn't going to spend that money again, especially when I bought the deck of all the updated cards. This being said, from my experience with War Room, please don't make it a damage tracker. This is strictly my opinions from experience with War Room (both previous and current edition).
  9. Already got my shipping notification...as the Fedex truck drives from Georgia to California with my stuff. Minis don't weigh that much, but according to Fedex, it weighs 4.5 pounds! Damn book.
  10. HAHAHAHAH. I'd love to work at a gaming company, but I'm only a mediocre painter (when I actually find time/motivation to paint), and while I can appreciate good art, I can't draw.
  11. You guys wasted no time! Already looking for a replacement.
  12. Does that mean we'll see you around more often? Now I'm sad that I can't squeeze you for secrets. RJ and I have been fortunate to be able to know you and be able to play games with you. Wherever you go, good luck! Fyi, I'm doing a demo on Saturday if you are not busy and can stop by.
  13. I will be hosting a learn-to-play/demos for that miniatures game that does not require dice to determine results (Malifaux). It will be on Saturday, August 13, 2016 @1pm at Equilibrium Games in Concord, CA Equilibrium Games 3442 Clayton Road Concord, CA 94519 If you already know how to play and just want to stop by, see new players, and let them see your awesome stuff, feel free to do so.
  14. Welcome to the Breach! I have also dabbled in Tau, growing my PanO (just bought a new hacker and a REM), haven't played Warmahordes in 2 years but looking forward to what MK3 brings to to the table. It's the fate deck that sets Malifaxu apart from all the other minis I have played or currently play. Relic Knights also uses cards, but in a completely different system. Knowing that you are capable of changing the outcome (thus, tempting/cheating fate) of what happens in a game without actually cheating, makes Malifaux a different minis game in its own right. I hope you have a found your first crew simply fascinating, but there is also the 2 player starter set and the free mini rulebook on Drivethrurpg.
  15. I was able to play the full game at GenCon 2015 with the max amount of players. One very important thing I learned is that when there are too many players, the sun travels really fast and the champion often cannot catch up. However, with too few players, not enough is happening and players are poorly equipped to deal with the problems thrown at them by the board. Unfortunately, I have been unable to play my copy since GenCon; however, if you are able to snag a copy of the generalist upgrade deck, there is a card in there just for DCR.
  16. I had a feeling Raspy's Zero trigger would be like that, considering that's how I played it. Good to know its been clarified.
  17. I have also purchased the mats (used them as prize support). I also purchased the carrying case, which I can use for other mats. My personal preference for mats are the ones made from the mousepad material, but I took a stab at these mats since they were recommended a friend. My only issue is the DPI used for the mats...one turned out really well, the other, not so much. The lines are very helpful in terms of deployment and knowing where the center is. I'm currently on the lookout for more mats, preferably in the US (some companies I looked at were not in the US and shipping to the US was astronomical).
  18. Let me know when you have time to go to Black Diamond - I'll bring my stuff.
  19. There are several formats for tournaments, the most common being 50 soulstones. There are also smaller formats available, such as hardcore, with is only 20 soulstones. The standard 50 soulstone tournaments can take all day so I'd hold off on something like that until you are more comfortable with the game.
  20. Always good to get some practice in and to find much needed models, as my store decided stop stocking Malifaux awhile back (it's a LONG story). Thanks =)
  21. I know it's Star Wars weekend but why not play a friendly game of Henchman Hardcore before the movie? All rules are online (duh), but it's 4 models, 20 soulstones, and 30 minute games. One strategy (turf war) and one scheme (assassination). I've got some awesome prize support coming so please come play! Thanks! Oh, we're playing at Black Diamond Games in Concord, CA on December 19 @ 12 noon. Please arrive by 11:30am for pairings and stuff.
  22. I didn't see a regular Dark Carnival box available - was that only GenCon and the translucent red is for the sale???
  23. *sigh* Was thoroughly impressed by the art for the alt. Barbaros and FIrestarter (love models with amazing wings); however, was not impressed by the required price point to obtain them. I was seriously hoping (like many others) that they would be available as a stand-alone model to buy, in addition to other BF goodies. I have not had a chance to discuss with my local group if we want try attempt to make the $300 goal, since shipping is quite costly, even in the US (I learned from buying from other game companies' webstores during cons/BF how astronomical shipping prices can be within the US alone). As for the other models listed as being available for BF, I do not plan on getting the new Snowstorm (perfectly content with my 1st ed model, even if my opponents refer to him as a yeti), although I do not recall there being a render for Angelica, which means I may wait until she is available through normal means. I like the alt colored plastics for Kaeris and Jakob, although I didn't think Jakob would get an alternative colored plastic. I had hinted at Justin that it would be nice to see Kaeris in colored plastic. I would like the see photos before deciding to invest in them, although I have a feeling they could be available in the Henchmen area of the webstore, given time (really want to see a purple plastic Huggy!).
  24. If you think about how the format is for Henchman Hardcore, there are only going to be 4 models, regardless. Your soulstone pool is whatever cache your henchman has, since the size of the game for hardcore is 20 soulstones. It is not recommended in this format to run with more than one henchman, as they will take up the majority of your points. The rules are available on the website for organized play (I think). I happen to be familiar with this format because I ran an event in my area before rules were made official.
